Last week, I adopted Fandom's Alan Partridge Wiki after over a decade of inactive adminship and relatively sparse editing.
I've been working primarily on adding more pages, mainly from KMKYWAP, The Day Today and Nomad, but I've got a long way to go, and I can't do it all on my own. I'm particularly looking for people with the skills to revamp the site's very dated homepage. I'd also like to get together a proper admin team at some point.
Who's up for building a community over at the wiki and creating the definitive Partridge encyclopedia?
Note: because it's small wiki with a current admin team of 1, you'll need to login in to fandom to edit. I hope to change this at some point in the future, when we have a mod team.
It's hilarious. It's basically this beef and dairy show where everything just goes wrong, like interviewing a vegeterian artist or trying to appeal to a younger audience by creating the new character Bimpsy while the voice actress for Bimpsy has a breakdown.
Overall, one of the funniest podcasts I've heard.
I was on a walk and thought I’d listen to Dale Partridge’s pod to see what nonsense he’s up to these days.
Holy shit, is he extreme. The whole podcast about singleness (of his) is his condemning anyone who doesn’t want to get married for any reason, ranting about how humans are literally made for marriage, and that wanting to find yourself is a sin.
The partridges are so ripe for snarking on, they seem like Ben Shapiro and New York Karen got married and hate fucked 3 times and make a living off of telling others couples who hate each other how to live.
Still listening to the podcast episode, but Brenda and this guy’s daughter go in depth about how corporal punishment is used in the fundie community. How does the Snark community feel about this?
Me, in Trafalgar Square, going “Oh God!”
I was doing a little run through of Dale Partridge’s social media to remind myself that awful scam artists like him exist and must be taken down, ya know, as one does, and I noticed his Facebook posts only go back to January of this year and his Instagram posts to May 2019. (His Facebook page was created in 2008.)
I reckon he’s salty over God is Grey’s recent videos and doesn’t want people going back and finding some of his more offensive posts so he’s just burning all the evidence in advance.
Anyway, nothing major but it’s nice to know that online pressure is finally shutting him up, even if it is just him deleting posts. I’ll sleep better tonight knowing there’s less Dale Partridge garbage on the internet. And the next time he makes a post bragging about how holy he is for posting “counter cultural” things for God maybe I’ll comment reminding him how he goes back and deletes all his stuff it anyways. Cheers!

I've been looking into getting some quails and see that people around where I live also keep partridges and pheasants. I'm curious how all of these birds compare.
I'm not interested in chickens but I added them to the list since they are such a familiar standard to compare to. I've eaten quails and their eggs before and like them though the small size is a bit of a draw back. I like that they don't make much noise or stink and seem to be fairly easy to keep. I don't want to be pissing off my neighbours and for that matter I don't want to have to deal with farm level obvious animal presence. The birds can have an area of roughly 5-10' by 10-30'.
How would the pheasants and partridges compare in terms of level of upkeep, noise, smell, and space required?
His mannerisms, his facial expressions, his ludicrous claims (I was just checking the bunker), his tone deaf, disconnected sexism and racism, his... just all of it? Tell me I'm not alone!
So this begins as most great stories do with some inebriation. It helps with the story and if it all doesn't make sense, I'll clean it up later but the Go still stands. I was talking with my wife and I told her I'd get her anything in the universe. She looked down at me (I was laying my head down on the couch looking up at her (both looking at Reddit (shared addiction! (realizing I have a problem with parentheticals)))))) and she said "immortality". Unfortunately I'm unable to pass my own immortality on or I would so here's the next best thing. Here's a photo of her that's been blurred out for her personal privacy (I left the hint of her sweet arm tattoo because it's just too good to cover up). I want this spread as far as possible on the internet so she'll live forever in digital immortality.
Finally to the challenge!
The top 5 people who spread this image (which is linked at the bottom of the post) the most, I don't really care how, crosspost, other platforms, tweeeting, whatever,... keep reading on reddit ➡
Anybody got any unpopular Alan opinions?
I'll start: I think Mid Morning Matters is funnier than a lot of S2 of I'm Alan Partridge (not sure if this is that unpopular)
Just noticed the subtle transition from Griztronics to Tomboy for the first time in “The Rippers”. The syncs in this show have been Grade A (shout out to Fineshrine), but that was something else. The music truly makes the show
I was just thinking of how the Brady Bunch and The Partridge Family would be if the mothers switched places.
Can you imagine Carol Brady on The Partridge Family?
She would be way too sweet and kind with the kids. Danny would be way too conniving with her.
Can you imagine Shirley Partridge on The Brady Bunch?
She would be way too cold and logical. Mike wouldn't like her. She would be sick of Alice's jokes and probably fire her on the spot, lol!
For those familiar with Alan Partridge, a fictional radio host (played by Steve Coogan), reasonably famously (I thought) once said, after playing a Withers record, "That was Bill Withers, who's sadly no longer with us". It tickled me at the time and for one reason or another the line stuck with me.
When I saw Withers died today, I looked up the Partridge quote, which to my surprise is now "That was Bill Withers, who thank the lord is still with us".
I'm willing to accept I'm completely wrong and have false memory but I would have been 99% sure it was the former quote.
So I am a first time author and am close to finishing my book so I am finding publishers but I recently realise that self publishing may be the way to go. Partridge Singapore has been in contact with me and they’ve given me a price (500SGD) for a whole lot of things that would definitely make publishing and selling my book easier. But I am hesitant because 1) I am only 18 and still studying so I don’t really want to spend a lot of money on a side project 2) I read some suspicious articles on their company. So what are your advice?
Was just wondering if there is specific times with the tide and such that it is the safest and best times to go to partridge island
Bit of an easy one.
So Mr Carr and Mr Partridge are doing their big shop an that AM

I've been rewatching all the Alan Partridge content I can. But I've never actually read the books, since I consider Steve Coogan's performance so essential. Are they worth reading? Any particularly funny stuff in them?
Most importantly: do they repeated say "Needless to say, I had the last laugh"?
