Seriously, this is probably the dumbest law I have ever seen, why should you not be allowed to sleep inside your own property??
It doesn't even change a damn thing, wether you are insinde the car or not, you are neither disturbing nor endangering anybody.
The only thing this law probably does, is encouraging driving tired or intoxicated and making the cops arrest innocent people for another absolutely stupid reason.
I wonder why this law even exist and why there isn't an outrage to abolish it.
I'm so happy that it's legal here where i live.
I work in student housing at a university. One thing that comes with my job is I have a assigned parking spot kind of. It’s really just two spaces blocked off that “RD parking only enforced 24 hours no exceptions”. For my coworker who lives in my building and me.
One day over break, there was a car parked in one of the spots and my coworker in the other. I reported the car, they got ticketed and the car was moved. Well apparently word word got around that the parking office wasn’t going to ticket people with out parking passes so this Person thought that meant they could park in the RD spot.
A few days ago the same car was parked there again, leaving me without my spot. So, I again reported the car. I then got a call from my coworker yesterday saying that the person who had been parking there had gotten a hold of her (co worker) through her (Parker) RA after her first ticket. She asked if get permission to park there because her car was hit by someone who wasn’t paying attention while it had been parked. My co worker said that she gave permission to park there.
I told my co worker that I didn’t mean be cynical but the resident could totally be playing here and even so it sets a bad prescident for other residents. I added that if she (my co worker) wants to give up her spot that’s on her but then let me have the other spot because I didn’t agree to letting a resident have my spot.
My co worker told me I was being a dick and I should be a little more understanding and that this makes me look bad. I’m about ready to take this to our supervisor but I wanna know if I’m in the wrong her and I’m fast being an asshole.
I enjoyed all 3 when they originally aired but 30 Rock has always been my favorite by far. It seems as though The Office and Parks and Rec have continued to gain new viewers since their finales but I'm not sure that's as true with 30 Rock.
Even here on Reddit, you constantly see posts about The Office or Parks and Rec upvoted to the top of r/popular .
Is it because 30 Rock is more of an absurdist comedy with no real romantic plot line? Liz obviously has a few romantic interests throughout the series but it was never really a focus of the show until Criss was introduced late in the run.
This post is pretty pointless, I just wish the show was more widely appreciated like it's contemporaries.
So, she walks over and takes a seat next to him on the bench, turns to him and says, "Sorry to bother you. I know this may be a little forward but I would love to grab coffee with you some time."
Flattered, the man responds, "Sure... but what makes you so certain you and I would get along so well?"
"Well..." the woman says. "A couple things, actually. I noticed you were wearing an Iron Maiden t-shirt. Iron Maiden are my favorite band of all time. When they went on their reunion tour in 1999, my parents took me to see them in Cleveland. I was 12 years old and it was the first concert I ever went to. I absolutely love Iron Maiden."
The man can't believe it.
"I saw them play Cleveland in '99! First concert I ever went to on my own. My best friend Jimmy Spitz and I told our parents we were sleeping at each others' houses, snuck out, took a bus into the city and saw them play at the Plain Dealer Pavillion!"
Naturally, they're both shocked.
"If that isn't weird enough..." says the woman. "I noticed you're reading Mark Twain. I was a communications major in university and I actually wrote my thesis on Mark Twain and how he used satire as a lens to comment on current events of the time, comparing him to satirical news sources of today. He's my favorite author."
Now the man is really taken aback, "Get out of here! I was an English major in university! I specialized in 19th century American literature and this is like my fourth or fifth time reading Tom Sawyer, I absolutely love Mark Twain."
They both can't believe it...this has got to be a match made in heaven.
"Ok..." the woman says. "Well, buckle up because here's the icing on the cake. I noticed you're eating a prune. Prunes are my absolute favorite fruit. When I was a kid, my grandfather lived on a farm. He had an orchard that mainly grew apples and some lemons, but he knew how much my sister and I loved prunes so he kept a couple of plum trees. Every year at the end of the summer, we'd go up and harvest the plums with him. He'd dry them and by the time we'd go back to his place for Thanksgiving he'd always have those prunes saved just for us. They're my favorite fruit! I love prunes, you're eating a prune, this has got to be fate. What do you say?"
The man puts down his fruit and responds,
"It's a date!"
So I (37F) and my Husband (36M) have 8 kids(ages 3-13). All of them are adopted which is kinda important later. We RV fulltime in our travel trailer. So far it's been amazing and we have had so many amazing experiences. Also important to mention my husband and oldest daughter are deaf.(So are most of my kids but it's not very important to this story)
Anyways a few days we wanted to go to a town but there was only really one thing we wanted to see there so we decided we would get to the RV park in the afternoon on Friday and the kids would finish school and we would spend the night there and then on Saturday morning we would pack up the RV go to the thing we wanted to see and then from there go to a different state where we are staying for a week.
So when we arrived on Friday we started getting the RV unpacked. There were little tables with picnic benches outside of each RV and at the lot in front of us there was an elderly man sitting at the picnic tables. My kids are very well behaved and know that they shouldn't be very loud especially when we're in a park where the RV's are very close together. But the second we got out of the car the man was just staring at us, we get stares a lot but it was more angry than confused.
He then said "Hey lady, are those all yours!?" To me. I just said yes. Then he said "Well they better not be to loud!"(Those weren't his exact words because what he really said had some profanities) I rolled my eyes and just kinda walked away thinking I wouldn't have to interact with him much. We finished school and ate dinner, then around 6:30 I was helping my 3 and 5YO get ready for bed(Just get in PJ's and stuff but they don't really go to be until 7:30-8:00)
My other kids were just cleaning up the outside table from dinner when my 7YO fell and scraped her knee, she started crying as most 7YO's would. My 13YO went over to help her. Then the man(Who I guess was still sitting outside) started yelling at my 13YO to make my 7YO shut up. My 13YO obviously couldn't hear him as I said earlier but I guess he thought she was ignoring him. Then my husband went out to help my 7YO and the man started screaming at him to control his kids.
My husband signed that he didn't understand what he was saying and the man called my Husband an F-ing R slur. I heard that and ran out. I began arguing with the guy who said I was a terrible and abusive mother bringing my "Litter of Children" to a campsite with all elderly people. 1. I didn't know all elderly... keep reading on reddit ➡
My dog is old and really well behaved. Yesterday we were arriving at the dog park and he was standing right next to me when a random toddler jumped from behind me screaming and grabbed him from the back trying to pick him up (??????). The obvious surprise/fear instinct aside, he has two herniated disk and he SHOULD NOT be picked up like that because it can literally paralize him. Also it causes him pain. He inmediatamente yelped, growled, turned his head around and bit his hand. He drew blood. The child started crying and his mother came and was a angry at me and worried about his child. I was in panic mode. Mainly because I was worried about my dog because he was in pain and because he has never bitten someone before but also about the child. I explained the best I could what happened to the mother (I think I was a little harsh because of the shock) and THANKFULLY she understood. She scolded the kid a little and left. I didn't watch them leave so I don't even know of they had a dog.
I'm still shaken up about what happened but after taking my dog to the vet (he's in pain, but he's going to be okay) I'm finally starting to think about what happened. I mean it obviously shouldn't have happened. I'm livid. Don't take your children to the f dog park if they're going to try to pick up everything random dog they see. But I'm also a little relieved. Obviously the mother was extremely irresponsible for leaving her kid unattended like that but at least she had some sense in her and dropped the topic when she realized it wasn't my dog's fault. It could have been so much worse, I don't even want to think what could have happened.
ETA: I've seen this pop up a lot so I'm adding this. My dog is not "so fragile he can't be touched". He has two erniated disks, none of which are recent. He's in pain during certain activities like jumping or standing on his back legs. I'm not taking him to the dog park just because I feel like it. I'm doing so because of his vet suggestion. I explained it fully in one comment but basically stopping the dog park visits completely made him develop bad anxiety and it wasnogood for his health. I talked with a behavioral trainer and the talked to his vet and the conclusion was that one visit a week to the dog park was okay. It's just one day a week. We go on walks two other days. He is not aggressive or reactive, at all (he's 9 and we've never had anything even close to an "incident"). If a kid would have just petted my dog suddenly from the b... keep reading on reddit ➡
