History Hyenas is breaking up. Chrissy got a pilot and Yanni's almost out of Koloni's. Every upvote is one signature to bring Yannis Pappas to Flagrant.
This was published in the New York Times about a month ago. She reminds us that we runners should place as high a priority on treating our mental health with the same care as we treat our physical injuries and illnesses

Here's the NYT link (may require an account ... I have one so its hard for me to tell)
Has anyone checked out Bravey by Alexi Pappas - if you haven't you should. What an incredibly well written book about her upbringing, struggles with depression, Olympic journey, and so much other good stuff. Very empowering to young women out there in our sport in particular.
I highly, highly recommend it to the track and field community.
Have you read it? What do you think?
Because all the leaves are brown.
I’m here for two reasons. 1. Mg nipt came back 1/22 for a microdeletion on chromosome 15. 2. My pappa is low .1.
I had a cvs last week and I’m awaiting fish, karyotyping etc. Also had a genetic counselor consult which made me feel slightly better about the high false positivity rate for microdeletion a specifically with panorama nipt tests from natera. I’m praying so hard right now. Both her and my mfm said they do not even do that portion of the tests because of the number of outside referrals (like me) they get for cvs and amnio for microdeletion detection on nipt. My fetal fraction was also rather low 3.1% + my blood was drawn 12/31 but sample wasn’t received for 6 days !!!
I’m more here to ask about the low pappa. The mfm who did my cvs didn’t seem overly nervous about it. She said it’s very common in IVF Frozen pregnancies and is a old way of measuring the function of the placenta. She said the most important thing is extra monitoring in the third trimester. But the paper she gave me said increased risk for trisomy 18/13. In 31 yo and my nipt for trisomies was negative. My nuchal scan was perfect too. Baby measuring a day ahead even. Has anyone had a pappa that low? My free beta hcg was also a strange number which i couldn’t convert to a normal measurement since I’m not familiar with measurements like this. It was 41 ng/ml. I know regular beta hcg is measured in MIU/ml.
I’m already on 81 mg baby aspirin. Anyone been in a similar situation?
Can anyone tell me which garage or parking lot to use for the testing done at Pappas quad on the health science campus?
