It's a pain in the ass having to check EACH AND EVERY gun to see if they have weapon ornaments. Having it set up the same way as Sparrows, with ornaments by season would make looking through your collection easier.
After watching Bungie handle a 17k+ post on this topic by ignoring it and continuing to see other posts like it, here is my prediction for the solstice this year!
Bungie: “Now we are giving the players what they want, a way to grind out the solstice gear from previous years but now as ornaments!”
Most Guardians: “We already earned those sets over countless hours of grinding and don’t want to earn them again. We told you when you did this with Iron Banner that it was a big fuck you to the community. Why do you do this to us Bungie?”
Community Manager Response to inevitable 10k+ post: “Players asked for old armor to be made into ornaments and the dev team did that. I will pass along this feedback that players are unhappy to re-earn stuff they earned before.”
Also, less of a prediction, more just exactly how they did IB.
Edit: Wow this was a flat zero this morning. Not my first front page but my first Bungie reply! That’s always neat even if it’s not you were hoping... keep reading on reddit ➡
This already works for Vanguard armor, pvp armor and Iron Banner armor. If they don't do this, I think they are missing out of a golden opportunity.
It's a small thing but I find it really annoying and confusing.
Title says it all really, one of the reasons that Trials of Osiris IMO was better than Trials of the Nine was that it offered something for everyone. So the population was a healthy size.
Also it will be a disappointment if Trials rewards armour pieces over ornaments, as it's another set of gear to MW and there is so much RNG with armour we would be gimping ourselves wearing trials gear (as current season gear is 60+) unless we were very lucky with rolls.
Finally I really hope that prisms and ascendant shards are in the loot pool for high end rewards.
I don’t know exactly how long but it hasn’t been available for a very long time. Grab it now while you have the chance!
Edit: Looks like 700 bright dust
25 days ago, the bug that allowed you to pull IB/VANGUARD/CRUCIBLE ornaments that you earned and use them as universals was patched. Why? It did no harm whatsoever and allowed more loadout variety since we could use em on armor with other seasonal slots. With this going away, we're now restricted to activity armor (good luck getting godrolled vanguard and pvp armor).
I've seen a lot of chatter recently in the forums regarding weapon ornaments so decided to put together a video showing all 180 of them.
You might ask why? well I know there are various sites out there with the details available, if you don't know what you are looking for and don't want to click each weapon and then on to each ornament and then back to another weapon back to the ornament ect, ect, then this might be for you.
Before making the video I had no idea there was even as many as 180 available, some weapons like Mida Multi Tool has 4 ornaments, many of them I had never even seen before.
While making the video I did intend to include the name of the weapon, name of the ornament, what season they were launched and the source of how to obtain them, after doing the first 7 or 8 I released it was taking around 5 minutes per ornament 5 mins x 180 ornaments = 15 hours, that's a long time, so if you are curious as to what one is comment below with the time stamp and... keep reading on reddit ➡

In the premier we got to see this fantastic new ornament! can't wait to get that!
Returning after a long break from the game to find that my beautiful art was honored by Bungie
I think this will be a good way to make flash points relevant again.
Even if it's only ONE ornament per week, that still gives us a reason to do flash points for the next 35 weeks to get the full planetary sets (if we're counting tangled shore scorn armor as planetary).
I think it would be a great way to add more diversity into our Armor 2.0 and future while keeping the integrity of the game.
A weapon that is not even released and already has microtransactions attached.
When Armor 2.0 was first announced, this was how I first thought it would work.
Very disappointed when it turned out to only be for eververse items.
I was messing around with telesto when my friend asked me if I got the new Ornament for bright dust and after picking it up I noticed something odd with the names and releases for the Ornaments.
1st came out in CoO titled "Reef in Ruins" and I think this was supposed to be a teaser or hint that the Reef was in trouble especially with the battle worn look of the Ornament. Which is what happened in Forsaken with the battle in the prison and dreaming city.
2nd Ornament is mostly a stretch but it's titled "Dread from Below" came out in Warmind and could have been hinting to going back into the Moon this whole time. But the design makes me feel like its talking about the creatures on Titan bur the name makes me think of "The Dark Below".
Now the 3rd to be released this season is called "Long Live the Queen" and this is making me believe either in September the Queen is coming back or she will come back after this season or something because this season was basically a remake of CoO an... keep reading on reddit ➡
I don't understand why the Luminescent sections only appear from Friday to Tuesday. They should've been permanently unlocked ornaments like D1Y3.
I'm not trying to bitch, but having to go flawless EVERY. SINGLE. WEEKEND just for the Luminescent effect -- which doesn't even last for a full week -- is a bad move. You want to prove someone went Flawless that weekend? Create a Trials emblem showing the amount of Flawless runs you've accomplished w/ an Aura that only lasts for that weekend. Leave the badass luminescent armor alone.
Back when Shadowkeep launched, a really cool Thornament dropped that I never bought. I wanted to wait until I had some more spending money and assumed I would be able to buy it later along with other ornaments that released but aren’t available for purchase right now. I’d really love to be able to buy the ornaments for exotics but time-gating some of them but having others as permanent slots in the store seems weird. Can we please have all the exotic ornaments for purchase?
Sincerely, someone who wants to give you more money cause I love this game
Just in time for it to be removed being offered for bright dust ; )
The ornament is called The Want of Lies and Wishes
(Also I apologize if this is common knowledge, I just woke up and tried searching for Skull of Dire Ahamakra and found nothing here)
Sorry if this is a very basic question, I'm still pretty new to the game, just beat Ghaul but I have no idea how the advanced parts of the game works...
Wowsers, a lot of replies, thank you all so much for your help! I would reply to all of you but that would take a long time haha, I appreciate the help guys :)
Whether it's loot boxes that contain ALL the ornaments or purchasable Ornaments for all guns.
Please let me give you money.
Am I crazy or does it seem odd to me that Bungie doesn't want the insane amount of funds that openly obtainable ornaments would bring?
First there was a base game. Then came DLC and expensions. Then came Eververse. Then came season passes. Now we have to pay for DLC/Expensions WITH additional season passes and 95% of vanity items locked behind Eververse. The Bright Dust economy is absurd and the Silver prices are absolutely insulting. Some ornaments cost more than a freaking season pass. These aren't micro transactions. Four ornaments can buy me a complete new game. It's absolutely disgusting you try to portray Eververse as micro transactions vendor.
Edit: we also haven't had a world refresh in ages.
Like this I don’t think I’ll ever take this chest piece off, it just looks too good.
EDIT: Better Picture - https://imgur.com/a/002eFUI
Noticed that the northlight ornament does not cast a shadow. in pic: EP helm - shadow, Helm of saint 14 - shadow, Insurmountable - shadow, Northlight - Headless.
Now I just wish I had a horse......
Saw this on the Overwatch page and thought it was a good idea.
Edit: For those saying: "Just donate". We should, but why is this any different then a company hosting a charity poker night or a silent auction for charity?
life is too short to play with an unornamented handcannon. me and the boys would instacop it. thx bungo.
I'm sure this is a way harder thing to do anything about than I appreciate. But it's frustrating to inspect my armor to figure out which seasonal mod slot it has given how slow mod menus are (console)... Keeping the seasonal icon the same even with ornament applied would prevent this issue.
Or, you know, remove the seasonal mod slot. Personally I don't mind it but I know it's been highly criticized.
EDIT: Thanks for the silver, guardians! Glad to know I'm not alone with this challenge. More importantly, u/JSuperStition and others point out that you actually CAN see the proper seasonal icon even with ornament applied; It appears in upper right when you hover over an armor. I never knew... u/Noa_cucumber2 made a separate response post here showing what it looks like if you were also unaware.
For me personally... keep reading on reddit ➡
I like how the in-game welcome messages lets people know what's happening in the game... but as Shax says... I didn't expect this... when logging in and seeing an ad to buy an ornament for the paid content drop for the season...
I feel it tone deaf to advertise eververse items considering the community backlash to eververse at the moment...
I thought it just me having a complain before talking to my podcast host as he jumped on tonight and all of a sudden he sighed... I asked why... I shouldn't of... I knew it.
Just thought I would share, super pumped about this.
I missed out and want them. Thanks.
Any armor that comes without seasonal mod slots is almost useless or at least largely inferior. If the goal of armor 2.0 is give us more options in our appearance, then this was a missed opportunity to “sell” us on that aspect. This would give the f2p crowd access to more appearance options since there is no way (at least that I am aware of) to get ornaments that doesn’t involve money or bright dust.
My festival of the lost mask shouldn’t be the best example of what armor 2.0 is supposed to be.
Additionally, adding faction armor as random additional drops in core activities (similar to how shaders drop from banshee but less frequently) could’ve replaced the “chase” we’re lacking sans ritual weapons without disturbing the recently updated meta. For example ornaments for sets a,b,c can be found as random drops in gambit/ sets d,e,f can be found in strikes/ sets g,h,i can be found while decrypting prime engrams and so on.
Similarly faction weapons could’ve been used to freshen up the... keep reading on reddit ➡
