As I'm approaching delivery at 36 weeks pregnant, I feel it is my duty to pass along an important piece of wisdom I have acquired by this point to save those of you from following in my mistaken footsteps: DO NOT buy maternity clothes that are made of primarily spandex or nylon material!
Now, I know that it seems like a good idea at the time, right? "The ultimate stretch fabric! Helps hide the extra pregnancy weight I put on in the first trimester that I shouldn't have! Guaranteed to fit even at 9 months pregnant! And cheap, what a find!" Gives self proud pat on the back
Nope.
If you are a FTM like me, please don't beat yourself up - you couldn't have known, just like I naively didn't!
Getting into and out of anything made of these materials is impossible while you are 6lbs lopsided in one direction. Even the slightest bend over requires sumo-wrestler style strategy and leaves you out of breath for a few minutes so putting on ANYTHING that is resistant to being put on or taken off is literally the last thing you want to do with the very limited energy and flexibility you have for any given day. Don't. Bother. And then on top of that- that material you got to cleverly hold in all your extra weight? It is now putting even more pressure onto a torso that already feels like it has no room for expansion and is restricting further the limited space leftover in vital organs, such as your lungs or bowels. Trust me, you need all the space you can get in these areas at this point.
Take it from someone who is currently wearing such leggings (I only have so many clothes that fit me and can't justify spending more money on clothes that will only be useful to me for another 4 weeks): I just realized that I put them on backwards this morning, but I sure as shit don't have the energy required to take them off and THEN put the back on again.
Stick to standard cotton when it comes to maternity clothes and save yourself the energy. Motherhood maternity had the PERFECT leggings on sale for $12 a couple of months ago and I regrettably only ordered one pair because I couldn't justify even more pairs of leggings to only wear while pregnant. And it goes for tops, too--camis and shirts are so difficult to pull down over a huge belly.
Best of luck to you all in your pregnancies and maternity clothes journeys. If I have helped but one of you, I have succeeded with this post. Thanks for reading!
I (22F) am newer to the professional workplace and I never had anyone teach me what to wear. Iβve gotten a lot better about finding clothes and shoes, but Iβm not sure on nylons/hose.
I like to wear simple pumps with my outfit everyday. When I wear dress pants, it seems like nylons donβt matter either way because you canβt see much. But when I wear skirts or a dress, is it customary to wear nylons? Almost everyone in my office is male so I donβt have anyone to ask. It seems like Iβve seen both now adays? For a very professional setting, should I wear hose with dresses and skirts? Thank you everyone!
I'm still on an ongoing process of making my woodworking as silent as possible (apartment workshop + other personal reasons). One of the last really noisy thing is the the mallet hits on the chisel, when i'm mortising or dovetailing. I've search around a little and the two mallet/hammer that stood out for being silent were Thor 712 and Woodisgood urethane.
Owners of those mallet or of any silent mallet any recommendations ?
(At the moment I'm using a twin face leather/copper hammer from Thor and it's really noisy + Not a huge fan of the feel of leather mallet on wood).
PS : The Thor Superplastic interest me because I really like the pear shape look
My 17 year old daughter came down to ask me if I had any nylons to cut up for her fish tank. I wear skirts everyday to work but I been bare legging it for years. Iβve never been very good at being girly.
Are nylons still a thing? Do people still wear those?
I was browsing through older posts in my downtime and came across this post by apis_cerana in a now archived thread, and while not all that creepy or well known, I figured I would look into it, I was able to find a lot of information that was missing in the original thread, which I'm presenting below for anyone else that may have been interested in that case.
First, to introduce the case I'll lend apis_cerana's words from the original thread.
>In the nineties and aughts in Japan, "mystery" shows were all the rage. They were kind of like Unsolved Mysteries, but many shows actually had celebrities and others going into the field to try to debunk or report on odd events and places. One of those shows was Tantei Nightscoop (Detectives Night Scoop) aired in the early nineties.
>
>The show was actually kind of broad in scope, since the premise had to do with having the public send them tips on random things they wanted debunked -- anything from exposing scams to looking into paranormal sightings to finding a lost Colonel Sanders statue that had been dumped in a river (yes, really)...it was popular for that reason, I think. It had a good range of silly, serious and creepy topics, and a bunch of talented comedians as hosts to keep things interesting.
>
>There was one incident in particular that has perplexed and creeped out former viewers for a while, though. It seems relatively mundane, but the way in which this mystery unfolded was really unnerving.
>
>In an episode aired on March 20th of 1992, a comedian named Masa from a comedy duo named Tommies was chosen to go investigate a case in Osaka, in the KΕnoikeshinden Station area. The person who had asked for them to investigate had described a strange phenomenon where vinyl packing ropes in varying colors were tied onto nearby guard rails and telephone poles. They had noticed that a few had been tied on towards the beginning of February, but more and more had been tied on and had increased so much in numbers it was starting to become unnerving.
Further details you can find in the original thread, but the part that actually sparked my interest was the following:
>The only real documentation of this episode that is left are the rough transcripts which I outlined above, some screengrabs, and the actual show had been upl
... keep reading on reddit β‘Most nylon bags have that water proof material where you canβt add iron-on patches (it will melt the fabric) and sewing or fabric glue could ruin that material or cause you to have that patch on your bag forever. I was curious if someone has ever made some sort of an add-on for a bag to be able to do that without ruining your bag. Is there a different alternative for this option? Like maybe a strap of some sort or even a cover? Anything will be helpful? If my question is confusing than please let me know whatβs confusing and Iβll try to Illiterate or explain it better to the best of my ability .... thank you in advance update So I found something called the βMolle patch display ect..β you can find ones that you can hook to your bag or loop and it can be taken off with out damaging the bag If anyone else was wondering
Hi repfam! I've been wanting a new down jacket for a while. I'll be comparing it to the old 0823Club Nuptse that I've bought last year and my retail Nike puffer.

Timeline
Warmness and fit
This jacket is warmer than the Nike puffer and a little bit more than the Nuptse, probably because of the thickness of the external material. I bought an XL and it fits kinda oversized but not by a lot so I'd say go for TTS and you shouldn't have any problems. It's the comfiest jacket I own by far, yes the Nuptse is great and all, but this feels a little bit better to be honest. Only complaint is the fact that when is completely zipped up it kinda feels weird on the neck if you are wearing an hoodie and the hood is on the inside. 9/10
Materials
This has to be the craziest material I've ever touched. It's kinda of reflective as you can see from the pictures. It's very different from the material of the Nuptse, but it still as the ripstop so it's durable. The inside is normal nylon with no ripstop but feels very soft. I think the down inside is more similar to the retail Nike puffer instead of the Nuptse one, but in my opinion it's better than the other two as it feels more full and a little bit warmer. Good material for being a Weidian batch. The zippers on the pockets and in the middle are great. 10/10
Badges and embroidery
The badge is obviously not as clean as a TopStoney one, but it's pretty well done. The last "D" on the first half of the circle is not well defined and looks like an "O", but it looks good from a distance and for me is fine. The badge with the writing on the inside is the same as retail so no complaints. The embroidery is also on the inside pocket and it's well defined also no complaints here. Very good for the price in the end. 8/10
Conclusions
I'm very surprised that this item is not popular because for the price is a banger. I don't care about minimal flaws like the badge, but what I care about is the material which is great. Overall this is a good product for less than 80β¬ with shipping included. I

Sizing: I'm 1.63m, 55kg and usually wear a size XS-S; ordered the dress in a S (smallest size available) and it fits great. Probably wouldn't wear it without any shirt or blouse underneath bc it fits slightly oversized. I can imagine it would also fit a size M because of it's A-shape.
Cut/lining: The cut looks exactly like the auth: the opposite of bodycon, which I love. Would describe it as a typical A-shape, as mentioned before slightly oversized/slouchy. I can't say anything about the lining of the auth version; the rep is uni black, without any logos etc.
Quality rating: 10/10
The quality is simply amazing! I know what auth Prada nylon feels like and I have to say the dress is simply perfect. It's quite thicc, the logo is 1:1, there are no loose threads anywhere. Also, the logo shield is aligned perfectly. On my first pic it looks like there's a stain but that's just a reflection. Already washed the dress once and it still looks great. My biggest concern was the logo but it looks great. Also the tag inside is 1:1, compared it to my auth Prada blouse.
Accuracy rating: 10/10
When I ordered the dress I didn't know if it was a fantasy piece - but I luckily just found out it's not. On some of the TaoBao photos it looks like the pocket is rounded but, as you can see, the dress comes with a pocket that looks just as edgy as the real deal. Yay! Seems to be from the current collection, as it's currently i
