Looking for decent books in numerical analysis

I have a masters degree in mathematics so fundamentals aren't an issue. I had very limited exposure in undergrad and none in grad. My masters program was all in pure mathematics but am working in a position that is starting to require more in depth understanding of numerical analysis. Any advice is appreciated!

(B.Tech, 2nd year, Theory of Machines, Computational Analysis of Linkages, python) Never solved a similar numerical, the one on text book mentioned here is solved using C++, in this numerical it's python Just a hint on the approach to code or any help would be amazing.

I was wondering what are some good books to learn numerical analysis/methods?

I wish to find a book that covers general numerical analysis/methods that I can learn from to try and apply to programming. I do not wish that the book has a programming approach and/or uses a programming language because I think the book can deviate from teaching numerical analysis/methods and focus on the programming approach. I may be wrong (and probably am) about this, and if you have a book that does not deviate it is also very much welcome.

Looking for Numercail Analysis/Numerical L.A. Books with Solutions in the Back

I am a beginning graduate student in Mathematics soon and I am planning to self-study Numerical Analysis and Numerical Linear Algebra. I know there are already reference-request threads about this, but I am looking for some more specific books.

I am looking for books in the following categories:

- Books with difficult problems, and solutions in the back (ideal)

- Problem books (ideally with solutions in the back, or solution manuals)

Books to learn abstract algebra, numerical analysis and the mathematical concepts behind functional programming?

So does anyone have any recommendations on books to learn those topics above? I know most of them are not at all that related, but I want to learn about those things, in particular numerical analysis and more on how to better understand functional programming.

I'm a Software Engineer and I think knowing more about math is something that will make me better at my career.

Most recent numerical analysis algorithm Books

Hi everyone, as the title I'm looking forward some book about numerical analysis algorithm, like FOCUSS, MOD (method optimization direction), OMP (orthogonal method pursuit) and so on (I'm studying a paper about real image processing). Surfing the internet I've found tons of title but I don't know which one could fit my needs. The book that I'm looking to has a detailed explanation of each algorithm (and hopefully a pseudo code either).

So if you know some book like this the title is well accepted. Thanks :)

Numerical Analysis Book

I am a graduate student in the field of signal and image processing. I am looking for a book or a few books to help me learn numerical analysis to help me understand many of the research papers I read in my field (also techniques used).

I did some research and found a bunch of different books as recommendations. I compiled the list and wanted to get this subs opinion on which books would be the best to learn some of this material and use as reference? My background is in electrical engineering so I feel decent with ODE, PDE, vector calculus, and linear algebra but from an applications side. I am hoping these books go into detail to show all the derivations so I can see understand a lot of the assumptions made in papers, or how they just jump from step a to b without explaining the steps in-between.

So far the top 5 from my list are:

Best Books to self teach Complex and Numerical Analysis

Numerical analysis book?

I teach numerical analysis to future mechanical engineers. I am myself faculty at the ME department, and I overtook this course from someone from CS. During this term I noticed that the course book was problematic. It is very much theory oriented, but tends to be less useful for people who are going to use numerical analysis, and not research it. I do not give the name of the book on purpose.

Can you recommend me a good book? One that will speak to mechanical engineers? This term I was teaching them mostly from my experience and knowledge, but I want them to have a go-to book in the future.

Math 323 numerical analysis text book

Hey probably arenβt any math majors on here but if there is... selling the required text book for math 323. Tbh they donβt change the textbooks so if you are also eventually planning on taking this class might as well get it now :D

Numerical Analysis in C#: A book please?

While I would also jump at online resources I am one of those people who loves a physical book so if you could recommend one of those, I would be most grateful. I'm tantamount to a beginner so the more "for dummies" the better.

[Teaching] Any recommendations for good books on Introductory Numerical Analysis?

I'm teaching Intro to Numerical Analysis for the first time next semester. I haven't taught it before and it's not my proper jurisdiction; more or less, this is the only part of the undergraduate curriculum I haven't taught. I'd put good problem sets ahead of any other considerations, and the students have access to free MAPLE. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

[Numerical Analysis] I'm searching for a book that covers quadratic splines.

I'm doing a project on quadratic splines but have no clue what the error-estimate should look like and alle the books I found don't cover quadratic splines. Only affine and cubic splines are covered in them.
