My dad majored in accounting and taught me to use the numeric keypad properly at a really early age. As a result, I only ever touch the top-row numeric keys for symbols because it's much, much faster for me to enter numerals on the keypad.
Now that I've started using vim, I've done a good job of staying away from the arrow keys but I can't for the life of me give up my numeric keypad! So my question is, do any of you guys find it's use to be more efficient or am I living a fantasy and need to just deal with it and start using the top-row?

I'm selling an apple magic keyboard and a homepod mini because I never had enough use for these products. The apple keyboard was used for a couple months and is in great condition as I just cleaned it. It's an awesome product for productivity and I think the space gray version is hard to come by. Will come with original box and packaging. Looking to sell these cheap as well.

I live in an apartment. The amazon guy just rang me from the callbox out front. I need to be able to press "9*" to buzz the door open.
On my old 4a5g I'm pretty sure I got a fullscreen phone panel with a green button to drag upwards to answer, then I could press the numeric keypad button. But since I got my P6 I get a list of status bar stuff in rounded rectangles, including one entry with the word "Answer" to click on. But then there's no way to get to the numeric keypad. Help.

Why do so many people turn the num lock off and use the numeric keypad for left right, pageup etc? It's obviously designed for numbers, arrow keys have dedicated keys.
It makes me very annoyed and very vexed.
Like let’s say Nintendo adopted the Intellivision inspired design for their Famicom controllers and therefoer the controller design was never phased out. What would possibly be the evolution of said controllers in the future?
I must have spent too much time on laptops. I now find it difficult to type on desktop keyboards. I feel unbalanced. All that real estate on the right seems wasted. I rarely used the keypad even before using a laptop. Is it just me? Am I barking at a tree? Is there a reason for the numberic pad unless you are a cashier or an accountant?
Probably a dumb question: how do you bind a command to a numeric keypad key (with or without modifiers)? All of these fail to parse for me:
The correct syntax is "KP_6". Full list of keysyms at https://github.com/stumpwm/stumpwm/blob/aaf1569056b80d8d4a095f4b26a556cc784ed037/keysyms.lisp#L120-L156

I love my Kinesis Advantage 2 but I fumble whenever I try to use the keypad layer.
I've found numeric keypads that have arrow keys and Home, End, etc. but what about a numeric keypad with macro keys? All of the macro pads I see are 16 or 21 keys or thereabouts, and I'd like at least 30. Basically I want the keys you'd find on an external usb numeric keypad, plus about 10 extra.
I am willing an would actually like to build it as a kit if that's possible. Any ideas?
I felt REALLY lazy after all the planning and setting my rig up,I finally finished most of the setup and wanted a button box and decided to go the easy route of just buying a usb keypad. Unfortunately, it counts as a numpad and AC for example, doesn't want to let me assign anything to it.
I read on multiple resources including here on reddit that with AutoHotKey you can rebind keys ONLY when a certain process is running through AHK scripts. So I can make AHK recognize that I'm running Assetto and it will rebind my Num keys to something else.
I used AHK a loooong time ago to bind media keys to button combinations on my old keyboard. Don't remember almost anything about how I did it and am struggling to come up with a list of necessary operators for my numpad to actually work as I want it.
Perhaps someone can share their scripts for simracing, I'll obviously have to rebind the keys to my preference but at least I'll have something to work off of. Alternatively, you can just tell me operators that I need to use to rebind keys only when a selected process is running.
TL:DR Monke need example of working rebind AHK scripts. Monke ask for examples. Monke want them to only work when AC is running. Many thanks.
Selling my used apple magic keyboard due to no longer using it. Just moved to something else and no longer need it. Bought Jan 2021.
