Delaware area mover not to use

Not sure if this is the correct area for this post but maybe it will save someone else the headache I’m living right now. Contracted L&J Transportation out of Pottstown( an affiliate of North American van lines) They showed up and complained the entire time about having to move boxes and furniture, cursed and generally made my fiancé uncomfortable the whole time. 8 hours to load a 1150 sq foot house. We had paid for a guaranteed delivery two days later in the Raliegh area of NC. The first phone call was there was an unexpected delay and they would show the next day, Sunday. Well it’s Sunday morning and we got a call 1/2 hour before the time they were supposed to show staying the truck has not left and it is broken down. They “expected “ the part yesterday but it “should” be in today? We are currently sitting in an empty house making calls to numbers that no one answers and pretty much feeling like we are being held hostage. If any have had this happen I am sorry, what did you do? Feel free to use what ever movers you want but my experience was terrible with the above company and their parent. I’m not even hopeful for a refund of any sort. Thanks for listening

Professional mover advice post quote process -- NYC to SF move

I am moving from NYC to Oakland in a month. Because my move is completely across the country, and it's winter time, I definitely don't have the option of moving myself from city to city. However, I'm old enough to have collected some items I'd like to keep -- basically 25-30 boxes, a couch, tv, tv stand, 4 art/mirror pieces, desk, and 3 end tables/nightstands.

I've received quotes from 3 moving companies so far, and after reading tons of posts on here/advice articles I'm just unsure of what the best option would be.

  • Quote 1: Flatrate movers; mediocre online reviews, quote me $1500 for the above listed items without an in-home visit. This includes wrapping furniture, boxing TV and art, etc. Not sure if this quote includes the 'shuttle trucks' needed in either city since parking a huge trailer for load/unload will not be legal in either case. Moving window will be typical - basically ~8 days to move across country then up to 10 day window for delivery.
  • Quote 2: North American Van Lines; mediocre online reviews, quote me $4000 after in-home visit (they estimate 36 boxes rather than 30, but that's the only listed difference). Includes shuttles. They line item each wrapping for art/mirrors/tv (and they're charging quite a bit for that!). Again, moving window is typical '15 biz days.'
  • Quote 3: Movage, Inc; really decent online reviews, quote me $1749 for listed items without in-home visit, but moving coordinator offers to do a virtual visit in a couple of days if I'd like. Includes shuttles and wrapping of everything including art/tv boxing. Again, moving window is typical '15 biz days.'

I have scheduled 2 more in-home visits (Atlas and Allied), but I think they are basically the same deal - load my stuff on a truck with other cross country moves and I'll have a large window for drop-off. This window is fine in theory because I won't be in a huge hurry to get my items; I just want to minimize damage, delays, and scams. I reviewed all 3 movers' USDOT information and don't really know what I'm looking for or what should be red flag. Beyond online reviews and USDOT, what else can I do to improve my odds? Advice I've read claims that you want a company that will charge you by weight after an in-home visit, but none of the ones I've contacted offer that -- is that for a private, your-home-only long distance move? I think that's impractical with what I'm moving.

Worst comes to worst I'll take all furniture out of the equation and just ship boxes, but at

Moving Company Lost Precious Family Heriloom (Chest of Pictures) in 2006 [Ohio/Colorado/California United States]

An Ohio branch of a moving company called North American Van Lines lost my Grandfather's chest FULL of precious family photos that dated back many years (great great great grandparents, family trees, etc). The chest started in Dayton Ohio (origin) but never ended up in Shasta Lake California (target destination). I know that the truck stopped and offloaded in Colorado and one other city along the way (currently unsure of this city's name). Unfortunately this happened in January/February 2006 and my grandpa searched all over the place for the chest at the time but hit many dead ends. Customer service was very unhelpful at the time and I was too young to help him in any way. He has since passed away and was unable to continue his search for this precious family heirloom. I'm retracing his steps from where he left off 14 years later with the hope that the internet may be able to assist!

What I know summary:

  • Grandfather's house in Tipp City
  • Chest's starting position for moving company = Dayton Ohio
  • Chest's unreached target destination = Shasta Lake California
  • Truck carrying the chest was also carrying 2 other homes' belongings
    • The first home is in a city currently unknown to me
    • The second home was in Colorado
  • The chest that started in my grandpa's home in Tipp City Ohio, was moved to a moving warehouse in Dayton Ohio, and was at some point after that lost by North American Van Lines because it was either:
    • not labeled as belonging to my grandfather at the house it was picked up at (Tipp City Ohio).
    • or because it was dropped off in a destination other than the intended target drop off location (Shasta Lake California). Truck had 2 stops before the target destination.
  • Chest was a black metal chest with brass clasp and rivets. Roughly 4 ft wide x 3ft deep x 2ft tall
  • Was last seen January/February 2006 in Dayton Ohio at the North American Van Lines Moving Company branch there but we are unsure if it was left in the warehouse there or was left with one of the other homes the moving company was assisting with.
  • Because the chest was not labeled in my grandfather's house at the original location, they were unable to track where it was back in 2006 when my grandpa was fervently searching. They also refused to give my grandfather any inf

Interstate Movers Scam

I was in a meeting today, and all of a sudden I started receiving many messages for quotes for moving services. In a matter of 30 min I received 3 text messages, 8 phone calls, and 5 voice mails -- all regarding me potentially moving from Dallas, Texas to Ohio. The companies are MoveUsToo?, Geo Van Lines, Puma Van Lines, North American Van Lines.

Now, all of these voicemails sound like honest moving companies from the Dallas area, and the people on the voicemails sound genuine. The weird thing is that all of the communication has my real first name in it. My family is also originally from Ohio, though I don't live there anymore. We also don't live anywhere near Texas. Neither my wife nor I have requested any quotes, nor are we planning on moving any time soon.

Is this the start to a scam? Or did someone somehow submit my name and number for moving quotes?

How much would shipping this machine cost?

Hey everyone, so I'm planning on buying a claw machine off eBay and I'm wondering how much shipping will cost. The machine is located about an hour outside of Atlanta, Georgia and I'm in Southern California. The machine would be shipped with NAVL (North American Van Lines) and I've done some research on what the cost might be and the prediction that I came up with was around $500. I also previously asked over on a pinball enthusiast forum and they all agreed that it would likely cost around that much. So I was just posting this to get some second opinions, hopefully from people who have experience with having claw machines shipped.

Ford ($F) - Ugly Duckling to Golden Goose

Overview

For much of its’ history, Ford ($F) has been a boring dividend stock, yielding between 5% and 10% per year and generally languishing between $5 and $15 a share. Not exactly an inspiring story of growth or innovation. In a sector that hosts charismatic CEOs, exciting newcomers, and glossy new entrants to the industry, selling people on Ford’s potential certainly seems like an uphill battle. I mean… just look at their all-time chart, Ford hasn’t had meaningful sustained price movement since 00-01, and that was in the wrong direction.

I would like you to forget what you think you know about Ford and begin to look at them in a new light. Ford is no longer the ugly girl at the dance or the fat kid in gym class, but rather Ryan Reynolds in Just Friends or Laney Boggs in She’s All That. To understand why I think Ford is the most compelling value opportunity in the auto sector today, we’re going to have to look at its maneuverings over the last 3-4 years.

New Leadership, New Vision

$11B Restructuring Plan

In October of 2020, Ford hired its’ new CEO Jim Farley who had previously held the title of COO within the company. Farley was the architect behind the company’s $11B restructuring plan that it announced in June of 2018, and it has only accelerated its’ pace under his guidance. By most estimates Ford is about halfway through its plan to restructure the company, which primarily involves cuts to unprofitable sectors and refocusing on profitable ones, as well as investment in future technologies.

Trimming of Fat

Ford has made a few major moves to shore up losses it was incurring in unprofitable arms of the business. The first, and one which you are probably already aware of, is the discontinuation of many of its sedan lineup in North America. In the middle of 2018, Ford announced that it would be eliminating the Taurus, Fiesta, Fusion, C-Max, and Focus sedans from their lineup moving forward. The estimated operating cost savings was $25.5B through 2022, and Ford announced that they would be focusing on their more profitable SUV and pick-up models moving forward.

Ford also announced in 2021 that it would be largely [exiting t

Map of 1830 invents British Colony of North America, which was apparently one homogenous place

Canada was founded in 1867. It’s creation was the result of several years of dedicated politicking to convince four different British colonies (out of 8 that existed at the time, but we’ll get to that) to join together into a single union. Additional colonies and territories were incorporated into the union until Newfoundland joined in 1949, making the Canadian map as we know now. However, according to this map I encountered today, these colonies (and Rupert’s Land, but like I said, we’ll get to that) were one universal block of some place called the “British Colony of North America.” Now, if you’re scratching your head trying to figure out why you’ve never heard of this mysterious place, it’s not because you live under a rock. It’s because it never existed. In all fairness, it’s possible that this is just a weird way to say British North America, which was the collective term for British colonies in what later became Canada. It’s still a bit disingenuous though, because British North America wasn’t a single unified colonial place, but a collection of hugely different colonies.

That disclaimer out of the way, let’s get into more detail on why one huge lump called the British Colony of North America is misleading. To understand, we have to go back to 1667 and work our way forward to 1830. I’d also like to mention that strictly speaking, we should go back far, far further, as a myriad of rich and interesting Indigenous cultures existed for millennia in all of the areas that became modern Canada. Since we’re dealing with this question of British North America, I’m going to start with the English Royal Charter of 1670, which was issued by King Charles II 10 years after the Restoration. The Charter granted the recently created Hudson’s Bay Company exclusive commercial access and control to a massive area of land, 3.9 million square kilometres! In a touching gesture, Charles named it Rupert’s Land, in honour of his cousin, and also gave his cousin the governorship/ownership of the HBC. HBC employees built scattered forts in the area and conducted the fur trade with Indigenous groups. On a side note, if you haven’t read about the fur trade, I really recommend you do. It’s super interesting, and a lot of the new historiography examines the Indigenous role in the fur trade and how much of the trade they controlled, which is really a

FIII – Electric Last Mile Solutions – **HUGE EPIC DD** - A Sleeping GIANT! The 1st and ONLY Class 1 EV Van in the US!

EDIT - I sent this to FIII investor relations and they got back and asked if Id like to talk with Jim Taylor for a few minutes so I said sure. Will probably be tomorrow or wed. Let me know if anybody has specific questions or anything they would like me to be ask. Ill definately be asking about timeline for merger.

Hello All, this is my first DD. It is long but I hope you will enjoy it. I wanted to do an in-depth dive into the company Forum Merger 3 (FIII) , who is merging with Electric Last Mile Solutions, an EV company specializing in last mile delivery and work vans. FIII will be the first and only Class 1 electric vehicle on the market, coming as early as Q3, with no other Class 1 EV as competition. They are also bringing a Class 2 EV truck to market next year. A key factor in allowing ELMS to be first to market in Class 1 is the fact that they are taking over the old Hummer plant in Indiana. Additionally, they have the luxury of working with an already successful EV company, allowing for instant transposition of truck plans ready for production.

FIII has intrigued me from the get go being an EV SPAC, yet it has received little to no attention which is reflected in the current stock price. There has been little to no movement on the stock other than some sideways and downwards action, which is atypical behavior for most EV SPACs. So what gives?

After doing some digging, it appears that the main concern holding back most investors back from committing to this great company is their connection and relations to (((CHINA))), which comes by way of a company in particular called Sokon Automotive. This concern is not unwarranted, as ties to China have been an issue of concern in the market lately. As investors, especially when dealing with new companies, we want maximum transparency, which seems almost impossible any time we're dealing with a Chinese company. However, as my research has shown, the ELMS relationship with China is nothing to be concerned about. In fact, it is quite the opposite – something that will help propel them forward and accelerate their process through previously successfully developed truck plans and numerous industry connections.

I. The Team

First, let's take a look at who is behind the team. As we have come to know, a SPAC is only as good as the team behind it. The team behind ELMS is an All-Star cast of players in the auto industry with years of experience and accomplishments. After looking int

Welcome to the Boomer EV play Fucking Ford $F

EDIT: This right here is far far far superior to my ramblings. Please look at that for more, but as always, do your research you Ape.

Alright here is the deal and I'm gonna tell ya. Everything right now is EV this, EV that, oooh heres a Lucid and theres a Lion, look at that NIO and wow what a Tesla! But what about the boomer version, what about the big money, classic company, total run up play of the EV market. Well I think its Ford and here are my reasons why:

Disclaimer: Blah blah not financial advice, blah blah do your own DD, blah blah don't trust random internet strangers for financial advice ya retard.

  1. Right now Ford's Market Cap is just shy of $46 Billion. This is the Fourth largest automaker in the world in 2019 sorted by revenue. In other words, they are a big boy, they make cars, they've been doing it for over 100 years now, they know their shit. But still, they don't get much credit. Ford is often labeled the second biggest car company in America and never talked about. Why? They stale. You don't have to tell me they are boring, that's why I labeled this a boomer EV company. You invest in Ford for the dividend, because its stable, a high cap that's ole reliable. But here I'mma tell yew wat, that's changing. And the fact its perceived that way and is actually changing is gonna mean big big investment. Lets get to it.

Ford has a new CEO and his name is Jim Farley. Now this guy isn't the guy that's set the stage so far, and we will talk about that, but this guy has some unique energy. In the last earnings call for GM and the one for Ford, they essentially reported the same thing. 4th quarter numbers were surprisingly good, company still lost some money, we are going to improve bottom line in 2021. But man oh man were the results different. Jim got on that phone and talked about taking warranty costs down and making 2021 a focus on tightening up the company even more, and boom the stock went up. I didn't even listen to the GM call, but the highlights were practically the same, and GM took a hit. The difference speaks for itself. Now if you want something of a character model for Jim but you are too lazy to look up and listen to video of him, just imagine Jim Farley as the modern day Tommy Boy (because you know... his cousin was Chris Farley.... who played Tommy Boy.... fucking young twats go watch the movie its hilarious!). A Look at XL Fleet

Alright listen up you illiterate fucks. You may have noticed a few things happening in stocks the past little while such as EV plays being popular, wsb realizing its potential power as a meme stock pumper, and, most recently, triggering short squeezes on heavily shorted stocks. If you haven't noticed any of that, don't worry, you still belong here and we accept you.

Now I want to say one thing before we get into this - DON'T SELL GME!

This is not some play to distract from the big kahuna. It's a potential next move and we should have a little time. So let me repeat, do not fucking sell.

Let's go ahead and get the main idea out of the way...

TLCR; XL Fleet is one of the many Electric Vehicle plays on the market right now. It has the potential to be an incredible value play going forward, but more importantly, it's looking like a short term play given its shares floating and its short float. Buy calls, buy shares, just buy it...if you like the stock... Obligatory - 🚀 🚀 🚀 🚀 🚀 🚀 🚀 🚀

The Company
Xl Fleet was founded in 2009 by an MIT grad by the name of Tod Hynes under the name XL Hybrids, the name denoting the core focus of the company in its infancy - hybrids, baby. They actually upgrade your gas powered vehicle to one of two hybrid configurations. They aren't as sexy as EV's with their cutting edge marketing and cool, you're in the future vibes, but they save money that companies would spend on fuel and they cut CO2 emissions. They do this through three existing services:
* XL Hybrid - 25% MPG improvement, 20% CO^2 reduction * XL Plug In - up to 50% MPG improvement, 33% CO^2 reduction
* XL Link - basically just software to monitor your upgraded hybrid fleet to save more money and stuff.

These are the three systems that they have installed so far, but they have two others they are racing to deploy:
* XL Electric - Full on BEV's, none of that hybrid shit, not available yet but companies that are happy with XL Fleet will start buying these guys down the road.
* XL Grid - Handles the charging and storage for your fleet of environmentally friendly vehicles

The XL Hybrid one is pretty straightforward. They use regenerative braking to provide electricity the car can use when accelerating afterwards. Over time this saves fuel. The Plug in option is a lot more EV style. Basically, they have a bigger battery that they charge up at a station, and that handles the power needs for the vehicle un

I Went To A War - Chapter 10 PART #: 1

Notes To The Reader: This Post is in two parts. This is Chapter 10 Part #: 1

As well, At some point I have to just get this out or it will never get out. It has not been edited so forgive the mistakes where you find them. I return back and clean it up as best I can as soon as I'm able. I appreciate all who continue to follow along with this story and I make every effort to respond to anyone and everyone who is thoughtful enough to leave a comment and yes, even the critical comments - your time is appreciated also - Thomas

Let's begin…

Part #: 1 of 2

Her two sons carried her into the trauma clinic and with the help of staff got their mother up on a medical table where doctors began working feverishly. With her two sons, what looked like two doctors and two nurses and John there wasn’t much room for little ol me so I backed out of the room and watched from the hallway. In all honesty it was difficult to tell what doctors were doing. I saw a nurse draw something into a needle that I could only hope was some serious pain medication. The old woman’s groaning had become louder and I thought how helpless it must feel to be her sons, adult men, who could do nothing other than stand by and watch. I thought about how hopeless it must feel to be a community doctor one day and the next you’re white coat version of a combat medic. One day you're doing ears, nose and throat shit and the next you're trying to stabilize people who’ve been literally blown apart. Now I don’t know exactly what type of medicine these doctors were practicing two months prior to the moment we all found ourselves in right then, but it’s safe to assume they weren’t attending to people who had been ripped open by shrapnel from mortars, artillery, and tank shells.

Within just a few minutes doctors had done what they could and her sons once again lifted their mother off the table and were rushing as best they could carrying someone who was at this point unconscious back to their car. Still running, the two men jumped into the front and just as fast and noisy as they had arrived, they were gone, headed to Sarajevo’s main hospital.

Just as intense as the last few moments were, now it was silent. Nobody spoke. The two doctors took off their latex gloves, sat down in what could only be the clinics waiting room area, each pulling a pack of cigarettes from the front pocket of their medical coats, lit them, took a very long drag and looked off into nothingness.

12F „12F? That was the day I came to this world. You could say it's my birthday.” 12F is the producer's birthday: 1991.02.16→19910216(dec)→12FCE48→12F.

Aak Named in reference to the Sanskrit term A-un, with Hung being the other half.

Absinthe Named after the spirit of the same name. Absinthe (the spirit) has the reputation to be drunk by good willing, but self-destructive people, like van Gogh, Edgar Allan Poe, and Oscar Wilde.

Adnachiel Named after the angel of truth and wisdom.

Ambriel Named after the angel of communication and protection.

Amiya Named after the Hebrew "àmijah", which means "my mother is Jah" aka "my mother is Jéhovah". It litterally makes Amyia a pseudo-Messiah.

Angelina Angelina originates from the Greek αγγελος, “messenger”.

Ansel The name Ansel may be from Dr. Howard C. Ansel. Dr. Ansel worked in Pharmacy of University of Georgia. One of his famous books is Ansel's Pharmaceutical Dosage Forms and Drug Delivery Systems, a classic pharmacy book.

Asbestos Named after the material of similar name. The operator’s prototype a fire salamander, mirroring the fire resistant properties of the mineral. Her arts damage mitigation could be another nod to this fact.

Astesia Her name is probably derived from aster (Ancient Greek for “star”).

Ayerscape Ayerscarpe is made up of two words: Ayers (Rock) and Scarp (meaning a steep slope, short for enscarpement) Ayers is definitely a reference to Ayers Rock, which is a large sandstone rock formation in the southern part of the Northern Territory in central Australia. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Bagpipe Named after the famous instrument of Scottish origin.

Beagle Named after the race of small hound.

Beehunter Named after the old English "beowulf", translated as "beehunter", meaning bear.

Beeswax Named after the naturally produced wax by honey bees. The material is used in a variety of cosmetics, especially polish. The operator probably uses it to keep her horns shiny and beautiful.

Bibeak Maybe meaning “two-beaks”, which could refer to her two swords.

Bison Named after the north American animal.

Guys lets help each other out by honest opinions

So a lot of us will be moving OOS for colleges and uni so i wanted to know and share a little about places/cities everybody is going to live in.

Anybody who lives/ lived in any of the following cities please comment ABOUT what is living like in these cities as a teen or young adult and i ll edit it in andalso if you wanna add more cities , please lemme know:

NYC : NYC- FUCK THE MTA. Thats it.

local food joints are a lot cheaper and far more worth it. try going to parks if the ones around you are safe (yes, there are a lot of parks in nyc. playgrounds and small fields and whatnot). learn how to walk fast because people will be very annoyed at you (rightfully) if you walk slow

DO NOT BE TOURISTY YOU WILL WASTE SO MUCH MONEY (and im 99% sure that 99% of us will be broke college students)

I kind of only have subway advice from the days before the plague lmao but: No need to fear New Yorkers, just put on your lost tourist face and almost anyone will help you out with directions or whatever. The subway fare recently jumped an extra dollar to $3.75 which really really sucks, but most colleges are located in Manhattan so you can probably just walk to a great deal of places. Ignore the rats and they’ll probably run away; your bigger problem is dick pigeons that have no fear and stare you down in the middle of the street til you walk around them. Also, generally speaking you’re better off (more comfortable) just standing on the subway than squeezing yourself in the middle seat. Also if you’re on an evening rush hour subway packed like sardines and the poor tired conductor is yelling at people trying to get on that there’s another train right behind this train, they’re usually telling the truth. Just get off and wait, because that next train is usually so empty you can even sit down. For Christ sake don’t lean on the poles, and it’s ok to stand by the doors as long as you get out of the way when people are trying to get off.

Traveling to Thailand & ASQ Experience

My husband and I arrived in Thailand Wednesday morning and are on day 2 (but really it’s been 3) of ASQ at Divalux Resort in Bangkok.

We are on NON B visas for business, so getting the paperwork in order for that was a pain even before Covid. We hired a lawyer in Thailand to help us with this process. We’ve lived here before and the plan is to spend at least a year here, so it was worth it for us.

We booked our ASQ first after looking at flights. Once we found an ASQ that met my requirements of not being shitty, having a balcony, and available for when we needed to leave the US (husband is not a US citizen and his visa was coming to an end), we quickly booked the ASQ at Divalux, flights on Qatar Air, and purchased health insurance.

Please purchase a Thai insurance policy! We have AXA Sawasdee. Our Thai friends recommended it and I know it’s supposed to cover you even for asymptomatic hospital stays.

Once our visas were approved and we had our passports back we immediately applied for our COE’s online.

I made an appointment to get the RT-PCT Covid testing done and the 72 hour turnaround was difficult to find because our flight was on a Monday and many places aren’t open on the weekends (like Passport Health, which I usually use). The place we did use had 24 hour turnaround so we went Saturday morning. They did not do FTF’s there, so on Sunday morning when we had our negative results we went to Patient First and they filled out the form and it took all of 10 minutes.

BTW, I got our FTF forms directly off the Thai Embassy’s website for their DC office. Other forms we needed, like the T8 and Declaration Forms can be found online. The T6 is given to you on your inbound flight.

When we arrived at a very quiet IAD, checkin was smooth. I had color copies of all our paperwork clipped together and they asked for COE, FTF, and Covid test at the counter. Our first flight to Doha was 3/4’s full but when we arrived at the airport it was much quieter than when we transited in July going back to the US.

At the gate for the flight to BKK is when things got pretty surreal. Our documents were checked again at the gate and there were maybe 30 people tops on the flight. Mostly Europeans and North Americans.

Once we landed, they took us off the plane in sections and walked us in our group with security through the airport. Make sure you keep your boarding pass for the inbound flight with you when you disembark as they ask for it!

First they sit you down and ch

[EVENT] 1936 Winter Olympics

06/02/1936 - Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Olympic Stadium

All across the World, listeners sat huddled around their radios, the National Anthem of the German Empire faded away, and a thickly accented German voice began its monologue.

>"We Germans also want to show the world in this way that we will, true to the orders of our Kaiser and Reich Chancellor, make the Olympic Games a true celebration of peace and sincere understanding among the peoples."

In the small Bavarian village of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the Winter Olympics were beginning. Participating teams from across the globe were preparing to compete in a variety of events; Bob Sled, Ice Hockey, Figure Skating, Speed Skating, Alpine Skiing, Ski Jump, Cross-Country Skiing, and Nordic Skiing. The spectacle described over the radio could hardly do justice to the true magnitude of the proceedings.

For hours now, 10's of thousands of visitors streamed into the village, until at 11 o'clock, over 100,000 viewers sat shivering in the stands, prepared to watch the opening proceedings. It began with a small contingent of two Greek skiers, wearing tightly fitted blue jumpers, barely able to conceal their shivering from the thousands of watchful eyes. The trickle of athletes slowly became a flood, as participants from Greece (2), Flanders-Wallonia (27), Bulgaria (7), Germany (59), the Baltic Duchy (17), Finland (19), Italy (22), Liechtenstein (4), Netherlands (8), Norway (31), Austria (55), Poland (10), Romania (10), Sweden (32), Switzerland (34), Spain (6), Turkey (12), America (55), Japan (31), Australia (1), Russia (45), Albania (1), Ireland (5), Ruthenia (13), Lithuania (8), Ukraine (11), and Canada (29) all streamed into the stadium. The magnificent array of over 600 athletes from 25 nations was a sight to behold, notably, the striking red suits of the Austrian athletes drew many eyes. The absence of participants from syndicalist France, Italy, and Great Britain was hardly noticed by those in attendance, though the slight would not be forgotten in those countries.

For the next ten days, these events would be held, the schedule as follows;

  • Feb.06 - Ice Hockey Group A
  • Feb.07 - Ice Hockey Group B, Mens Alpine Skiing
  • Feb.08 - Ice Hockey Group C, Womens Alpine Skiing
  • Feb.09 - Ice Hockey Group D, Mens Figure Skating

Looking for help tracking down a family heirloom lost in 2006

In 2006 an Ohio branch of a moving company called North American Van Lines lost my Grandfather's chest FULL of precious family photos that dated back many years (great great great grandparents, family trees, etc). My grandpa was basically alone in his search as I was too young, his daughter (my mom) was too busy, and customer service was very unhelpful. He has since passed away and was unable to continue his search for this precious family heirloom. I'm retracing his steps from where he left off 14 years later with the hope that the internet may be able to assist!

What I know summary:

  • Grandfather's house in Tipp City Ohio = where chest originally lived for many years
  • Chest's starting position for moving company = Dayton Ohio
  • Chest's unreached target destination = Shasta Lake California
  • Truck carrying the chest was also carrying 2 other homes' belongings
    • The first home is in a city currently unknown to me
    • The second home was in Colorado
    • The third and final home was in Shasta Lake California where my grandpa was moving to
  • The chest that started in my grandpa's home in Tipp City Ohio was moved to a moving warehouse in Dayton Ohio and was lost by North American Van Lines at some point after that because the chest was either:
    • not labeled by the moving company as belonging to my grandfather at the house it was picked up at (Tipp City Ohio).
    • or because it was dropped off in a destination other than the intended target drop off location (Shasta Lake California). Again, the truck had 2 stops before the target destination.
  • Chest was a black metal chest with brass clasp and rivets. Roughly 4 ft wide x 3ft deep x 2ft tall
    • Full of family trees, photos, etc that I have names of
  • Was last seen January/February 2006 at the Dayton Ohio branch of the North American Van Lines Company but we are unsure if it was left in the warehouse there or was left with one of the other homes the moving company was assisting with
  • Because the chest was likely not labeled in my grandfather's house

Ford ($F) - Ugly Duckling to Golden Goose

Overview

For much of its’ history, Ford ($F) has been a boring dividend stock, yielding between 5% and 10% per year and generally languishing between $5 and $15 a share. Not exactly an inspiring story of growth or innovation. In a sector that hosts charismatic CEOs, exciting newcomers, and glossy new entrants to the industry, selling people on Ford’s potential certainly seems like an uphill battle. I mean… just look at this chart, Ford hasn’t had meaningful sustained price movement since 00-01, and that was in the wrong direction.

Ford also announced in 2021 that it would be largely [exiting the South A

FIII will be the first and only Class 1 electric vehicle on the market, coming as early as Q3, with no other Class 1 EV as competition. They are also bringing a Class 2 EV truck to market next year. A key factor in allowing ELMS to be first to market in Class 1 is the fact that they are taking over the old Hummer plant in Indiana. Additionally, they have the luxury of working with an already successful EV company, allowing for instant transposition of truck plans ready for production.

FIII has intrigued me from the get go being an EV company, yet it has received little to no attention which is reflected in the current stock price. There has been little to no movement on the stock other than some sideways and downwards action, which is atypical behavior for most EV companies.

As we have come to know, a company is only as good as the team behind it. The team behind ELMS is an All-Star cast of players in the auto industry with years of experience and accomplishments. After looking into each of the team members, some interesting connections emerged amongst them and amongst different auto/EV companies(including a connection to Tesla) . These connections made some of the pieces start to fall into place. In particular, I wanted to figure out more so their c

FIII – Electric Last Mile Solutions – **HUGE EPIC DD** - A Sleeping Giant? The 1st and ONLY Class 1 EV Van in the US!

EDIT - I will be speaking with the CEO Jim later today. If anybody has specific questions leave them down below and I will ask. Going to be asking about if the merger date is still on for Q1, the increased demand they talked about on twitter yesterday, also if he knows what specific percent the parts will be Chinese compared to US.

Stranded at Work: The Most Idiotic Transportation Company in the History of the Universe

Hello Reddit land. I’m here to tell you the harrowing story of how I was indeed stranded at work Tuesday night by the absolute worst cab company I’ve ever had the displeasure of associating with. Also, I am on mobile and have vision problems so please excuse any errors (I’ll be sure to double check everything before I post). You have been warned, so please enjoy… at your own risk. (AL;DR at the bottom.)

So, let’s start with some basic background. I am in my mid 20’s and wok at a big box hardware store (the blue one, for all you Americans out there). Normally, I get to work by a cab, specifically one that’s driven by one of my friends that works for the company (I have about three or four total). I’m also disabled and, as I mentioned, have extremely low vision. I recently got approved for cab vouchers issued by my insurance company for non-medical purposes (work, school, church, etc.), which my mom also has (she’s totally blind). Normally, we only use this account with one of my/our friends as an assigned driver, to ensure we don’t have any problems since 90% of the rest of the fleet is made up of foreigners who have no respect for disabled passengers (or just some random people that together, basically act like a tribe of incompetent baboons). I’ve had several issues using my transit discount card to get cheap cabs for short distances before, so I’m glad I have the new account now since I can’t actually assign anybody to the other trips.

So, with that in mind, on to The Story from Hell (cue deep, dramatic voice). It was a dark and stormy nigh—err, a normal work day for me (10 AM-6 PM) and after how insane it was last week due to the holiday, I wasn’t really looking forward to it. My first friend (we’ll call him Ronald for this story) had gone on vacation the Sunday before Christmas, so I was having my other friend, let’s say… Daniel, drive me to work last week, and he worked until Christmas Eve and won’t be back until next Monday. So now I was left with my “third-string driver,” who will be named Tonya. She (apparently) doesn’t really go on “vacation” and works almost every day, which was good for me since I needed the help. So now we skip forward to Tuesday. I called the cab company in the morning to ensure she was the driver assigned to my trips until my other friends got back, and had to fix my standing order for a third time since they can never get anything right. Now, it’s important to note that these calls used to go to the local office and th

Ford ($F) - Ugly Duckling to Golden Goose

Overview

https://preview.redd.it/o6gpo6e037n61.jpg?width=670&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=519cada29beead06d5e3ebd4fb88bf3a63870a0e

I mean… just look at this chart, Ford hasn’t had meaningful sustained price movement since 00-01, and that was in the wrong direction.

https://preview.redd.it/ujarxdmz27n61.jpg?width=624&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=141f51e0d89643569fd7021096b5200647a56092

In the middle of 2018, Ford announced that it would be eliminating the Taurus, Fiesta, Fusion, C-Max, and Focus sedans from their lineup
