Images, posts & videos related to "Nine Years' War"
I've been getting into Irish history recently after learning bits and pieces through conversations with friends and I'm interested in any reccomendations anyone would have for this particular period.
I've very little background on the Nine Years War and on the O'Neill Mor, so any reccomendations at all would be helpful!
In 1938, the War of the Worlds broadcast reported triggered hysteria. Did the events of 1947 ever lead to any reports of panic, hysteria, unrest, etc?
My ex step brother didn't have any toys. Except for one teddy bear and a nerf foam axe that he loved. My mom noticed he didn't have any toys and he'd just go around beating up the teddy bear so like any normal person, told his dad to talk to him about it and maybe invest in some new toys.
(Ed=entitled dad SB= step brother me=snot child NM=normal mom)
Instead of talking to sb about it, ed screamed at him. Took his son outside on our driveway and started full blown yelling at him, for no good reason. He backed this poor kid into our garage door and just let it rip. Sb was so confused and looked terrified as all hell, the poor kid was sobbing. He tried to ask what he was doing wrong but ed just screamed at him in response. Threatening to break the consoles and blamed it all on nm saying, "nm said you're too violent and need to throw out your fucking toys" or something of the sort, i was nine, i don't remember fully. I just remember seeing my sb crying as he threw away his only toys in the trashcan and my ed stomping around threatening him.
Sb was left crying outside, with no toys, no anything. His dad just ignored him after that. There were several other incidents after that, but I let sb play with my toys after that. Sb moved out shortly after that incident, for other reasons.
The best part is, he never told nm about it. He just said he talked to him and put the toys in his "old toy box".
