Like i get it, strikes are legit free and casual and stuff, but sometimes i wanna just blast through strikes for an hour with the new raid weapons I got or whatever. I miss being able to just hop on for some strikes with friends to dick around and possibly get a cool weapon like treads upon stars, imago loop, or grasp of malok. I'm cool with having nightfall rewards too, maybe even have nightfall strikes be able to drop curated rolls of the special weapons while regular strikes cant IDK.
Just seems like the playlist exists to get your bounties done and leave as of now.
I've seen it posted on here before, but I just launched to the tower and ended up in an ordeal nightfall with SIXTEEN guardians instead! And it was one of the most fun experiences I've ever had! We stormed through he whole thing, destroying champions and reviving each other along the way, before obliterating the boss. We even managed to hit 100k, so everyone got a pinnacle. Seeing the after action report with sixteen guardians on it was a trip.
Bungie should REALLY add some fun options like this to liven things up a bit! Even if the rewards were lowered, it would still be worth running just for the fun of it.
ETA:
Wow! Didn't expect this kind of response when I posted this before going to bed last night!
It's really cool to see people responding to stuff in such a positive way.
For those asking, there was ZERO lag and seemed to have no issues at all handing that many players. Yes, I did record a few minutes of it on my PS5, but I have NO IDEA how to share that here! If I figure it out, I throw in a link.
Thanks for all the replies and awards!

That is all.
Iβm a long time player. I go back to the beta on D1! I work for myself and this means I have time but itβs never a set time each week. I have a few friends that Iβve made over the years but they are American and as Iβm from the U.K. I donβt get to play online with them much before the weekend. So hereβs the thing; I donβt have people I play online regularly with. And Iβm absolutely fine with that. Iβve made my peace with the fact that because of this, I wonβt be able to do things like raids, trials and the high-end nightfalls regularly. I understand that these things are really tough and require communication and teamwork to get through.
The 1250 nightfall though, not so much. I almost soloβd it yesterday but I lost patience as it was just taking too long. I literally just needed a little extra firepower on the bosses and Iβd have finished it. And the 1250 is really the only realistic way to earn decent amounts of enhancement prisms for people like me.
I donβt expect prisms to be just handed out by Bungie. But the 1250 is locked behind lfg, not difficulty. I reckon most could just about get through one at this stage given with artifact power they are probably well over 1250 by this point anyway. Prisms are my only real way of attaining ascendant shards. And the sheer quantity of prisms you need to convert means that it just isnβt really feasible to get them as a predominately solo player. They are much more likely to drop from the 1250 than the 1220 and Iβd happily farm 1250 nightfalls all the time if I was able.
Edit: for people who still want fast and efficient runs, they could continue to use lfg to build a fire team that meets their requirements. This is just to open it up to predominantly solo players.
i have no idea how this PS5 player managed to do this but since it is a new console maybe that has to do with the result.
This post is not about the difficulty, but the ghost locations. In the Control Panel section and Boss Room, deaths in either will put your ghost in an inaccessible location.
In the Control Panel section, it places the ghosts above where the Unstoppable Champion spawns. If you die in the area immediately after the Launch from the control panel, your ghost is stuck at the control panel location.
If you die at any point in the boss room, with the exception of the final floor, your ghost becomes completely inaccessible.
While one could argue that without these glitches, this GM is βtoo easy,β itβs incredibly frustrating to be kicked out of the Nightfall because of some arbitrary ghost placement.
I'm only 4 levels under recommended light to run the master difficulty and I've never had this much trouble trying to complete a nightfall. The end encounter is just insane. So many champs on top of the wyverns, it's just overkill. Every fire team I've gone in with today has dropped out after a few attempts. Extra shitty cause I really want those double rewards (for the love of the traveler give me golf balls). I can't be the only one struggling this much right?
...and wow.
That was the most thrilling end game experience of destiny Iβve ever experienced. Iβve never done one before and the amount of well I guess planning you have to put in with the mods and playing strategically is just what end game should be. I can do the raid with my eyes closed, itβs so easy and when you have all the loot it just gets boring...but that 1280 nightfall....Jesus. Those wyverns are honestly something else and those damn vandal snipers, itβs great. This is just a random post but I just had to express my excitement of finally doing one of these strikes and getting ascendant shards is soooo satisfying.
Anyway thanks for coming to my TED talk lol.
Edit: wow thank you for the awards haha, I really didnβt expect any, I was just buzzed about these nightfall completions and wanted to share π
I've never seen this happen, but I also took a break this year between Undying and the last half of Arrivals, so I missed stuff and maybe there's something I don't know. This a thing that occasionally happens now, or a glitch, or what?
Happened in the Nightfall last week while doing Inverted Spire on I think Heroic difficulty with a group of randoms. Weren't even in the strike area proper yet.
edit: Apparently this happened to /u/Frozenheal in what one might call slightly similar circumstances. (Link to comment)
edit 2: Kinda late with this follow-up, but damn, there's several more additional corroborating videos in the comments that seem to indicate this is a glitch (or maybe easter egg?) mostly unique to this strike; all the videos show it happening outside the actual strike area near the Vex milk waterfall in similar fashion to mine. (A few other comments mention it might've happened on other planets or in other activities, but I haven't seen any videos yet of it.) Thanks to everyone for the input and interest!
Now, I realise I have probably messed up by Masterworking a scout rifle as my kinetic weapon. However, the game doesn't really go into depth to newbies about which weapons can break champion barriers etc. Not until you look at it in a bit more depth. When I was selecting my weapon, I believed that anything could break Champion shields with the right mods. Alas, no.
Anyway, I decided to enter my first Hero level Nighfall last night. I know it is a low ranking compared to the rest of you, but still.
I enjoyed every damn second of it. It was challenging, but fun. While I couldn't actually break the barriers on Champions, I was incredibly effective. Could dart around that field, reviving, protecting my fireteam, etc. So much more fun than the lowest level.
What really made my day, however, was the fact that one of the fireteam members messaged me after congratulating me on my performance. It was brilliant, mostly because the only other time I have received a message in Destiny 2 was people being a bit shit towards my performance in crucible.
Walked away with an exotic too, which was nice.
Gonna switch up my weapons a bit so I can actually do a bit of damage in the strike next time. However, for now, I think I am finally having a lot of fun this game rather than going through the same boring strike which I can do with my eyes closed. Gonna be a long time before I go up a level and find a fireteam for non-matchmaking activities, though.
And selling it like something crazy. This company has serious problems with the loot creation.
Would just be a small change and in my opinion make nightfalls feel more rewarding. I wanna see my chest vomit exotic engrams after spending 2 hours on a grandmaster.
After taking Eyes of Tomorrow into Master Nightfall, something felt off, that exotic felt no better than a regular rocket launcher. So I went ahead with some numbers, and discovered that, for some reason, Eyes of Tomorrow deals massively reduced damage in Nightfalls.
The video below is a comparison of the damage ratio between Eyes of Tomorrow and other weapons, I used Xenophage for reference.
All weapons tested at 1250 Light, with overall Light 1266.
After the tests, I have to conclude that Eyes of Tomorrow is acting weird in Master Nightfalls, dealing massively reduced damage for some reason.
Unless there are some secret mechanics I am not aware of causing this phenomenon, this looks like a bug. Eyes of Tomorrow deals MASSIVELY REDUCED DAMAGE in Nightfalls.
Edit: I was late to the party, there was already a post on r/DestinyTheGame discussing this issue. Here's the Link
Edit 2: Tested legendary Rocket Launchers w/ Impact Casing (Archetype doesn't matter since all legendary RLs deal same damage), and compared it Xenophage.
Bungie for fucks sake.
That is all.
I srsly tired of seeing blueberries using a double primary but didn't even put on champion mod. I've seen two blueberries didn't even respond my team chat and using supers for an unstoppable champion. I don't even know if they can read at all
These strikes are notoriously bad for consistency when it comes to spawning Champions, and I know that at least Corrupted has ALWAYS had trouble in this regard. Champions will often times not spawn if you DPS bosses too quickly, and players should honestly never be penalized for doing too well in a fight. Even aside from issues caused by doing too well with DPS, Champions will sometimes still simply not spawn at all, making it impossible to obtain Platinum rewards despite the issue being completely outside of the players' control.
This absolutely needs to be fixed. When Festering Core had issues last season with enemies being 750 power in the highest difficulty, it was removed within a day and replaced with Pyramidian. Despite being so quick to ensure players don't get too many rewards, Corrupted has always had issues with players not getting ENOUGH rewards, and yet was cycled through repeatedly last season, just like Broodhold is doing this season. If these strikes aren't able to consistently SPAWN the appropriate number of Champions then their requirements need to be adjusted accordingly so that players aren't expected to be able to kill more Champions than actually spawn in order to obtain the actual rewards.
Did a 1250 nightfall earlier today. We killed the boss right around the 20 minute mark, didn't really have any hang ups during the strike to cause it to take very long. But for the 10 to 15 seconds after we killed her, our score kept counting down. Luckily we were around 117k so it wasn't an issue, but if we had finished just over 100k and lost it because the mission took too long to end, that would be unacceptable
But found it in my postmaster when I went to drop off cookies at the Tower! Now I can endlessly spray Sweet Business everywhere. I love this game! Also got great rolls on One Eyed Mask and Hallowfire heart during the farm. Now to finish the week with my Warlock trying to get Sunbracers to drop...Happy New Year! Actium War Rig / Tighty T / Bonus
I think quite a few of us remember doing the nightfall in D1 and earning that coveted flaming blue head flair. I also miss them in D2. Each title should have their own unique head flair/animation with the ability to turn it on or off.
Seriously, I still leave when this strike pops up and was really hoping it would get taken out and placed in the very back of the vault. Like the corner that no one touches for years and it just collects dust only to be forgotten about.
Now that it is out of the mix (again). Keep it and don't bring it back. This is now the second time and all I hear are joyous remarks from my friends.
Also, how the hell do you start a season with this being the ordeal? (I know it changed, but that was a kick in the nuts when it started up.
Now take this from someone with all previous grandmaster nightfall completions, while I will still be attempting to complete this grandmaster prior to the next weekly reset. I can say without a doubt that in terms of Grandmasters the wyvern is the only problem with this one, it feels as though this Grandmaster was untested and Bungie assumed that those units would scale just like every other enemy. They don't.
The problem isn't the champions or the modifiers it's literally just the wyverns.
Don't get me wrong the overloads and barriers in the boss room are tough, but they aren't as overwhelming as the wyverns, at least the overload minotaurs come in groups of two which can be controlled based on dealing damage to the mini boss hydra.
The wyverns one-shot you regardless of what attack they use.
They one-shot you in a bubble, while they have the overload debuff; which lowers enemies' damage output, so this means the option to burst them down with swords is basically out of the question.
This wouldn't be that big of a problem if they didn't spawn with 2+ at a time, so you could at least avoid fighting them for a little bit, but the final encounter room forces you into close-quarters combat.
They simply aren't a fair enemy, overloads on the other hand while tough; which they should be it's a grandmaster, of course, have a counterplay to their mechanic. While wyverns come with all the damage, speed, AOE, and range of an overload minotaur without being able to be stunned.
A few suggestions to make them fair:
Reduce it to one wyvern per spawn: Trust me even one with all the effects active one is easily enough to wipe an entire team with one shot
Allow overload to stun them: This would enable players to focus them down and kill them one at a time, with each successful kill making the others slightly easier due to having fewer enemies one-shotting you.
Increase the damage debuff from the overload effect: Similarly to the stun, this would allow players to debuff the wyverns so that they are actually compat-able
Other than those I have no idea why the Glassway was released as it is for the grandmaster.
I understand a grandmaster is supposed to be over the top difficulty, but take it from someone who's done every single one, the wyverns are not a fair enemy to fight in hoards with all those modifiers.
This is a different argument then snipers that one shot you b
... keep reading on reddit β‘It feels like 80% of players just have no clue whatsoever how to deal with champion enemies.
Just force a tutorial mission about killing champions and how anti-champion mods work on every player before they can access nightfalls for the fist time.
BLUEBERRIES PLEASE STOP KILLING THE FINAL BOSS BEFORE THE LAST CHAMPION IS DEFEATED
Title. Currently Targon is the only region with a genuine Daybreak archetype . Nightfall has synergy spanning across Targon AND Shadow Isles. My best guess is that there will be a complimenting set of Daybreak cards in Shurima for Targon-Shurima synergy (Sun Disk, anyone?). This could be why the Leona deck seems a bit bland right now, I think it's probably missing the other half of its identity.
Hello I'm looking for some advice/info on the markup and maybe get some clarification on how it works. First let me explain my situation.
My husband and I recently ordered a 2021 Telluride Nightfall edition for a little over 66k. We went to a Kia dealership, and they told us about the markup but, they didn't tell us the final price until after we had paid the (nonrefundable) 1k deposit.
Coming home from the dealership, we started regretting the purchase. When we were first doing research on the car, we saw it was around 50k. A 16k mark-up seems really high to be honest. I've seen some posts that people have had mark ups from 1-5k or something. I'm confused on how the whole markup thing works and who controls these prices. Is it the dealers themselves or is it Kia? I'm really hoping someone can explain it to me.
We still don't have the car, we have to wait 2 months for it to get to us. And we don't know how much our monthly payments are going to be. At this point we were just thinking of cancelling the order because of the lack of communication with the dealers, and also we can't afford a 66k car. I understand supply and demand, but I just want to be more educated on how the markup works. Do you guys think 66k for the Telluride is too much?
Please Help :(
UPDATE
We were finally able to cancel the order today. We still lost the deposit, but I'm just relieved it's done. This was the first time we tried to buy a car from a dealership. So everything was new for us. Now we know what to expect, only took 1k to learn that lession. Thanks for the info guys!
I think that's a bit absurd.
edit: He got it after $1k USD... Looks like the real Heist is GGG f**king our wallets with borderline gambling.

Seriously Bungie youβre missing some wide open shots to score brownie points w the community.
Since the removal of the old nightfalls and the return of our first Destiny 1 strike, we have one weapon obtainable exclusively from strike, that being xenoclast. We're going to be getting Fallen S.A.B.E.R. returning next season, and I've already seen a post asking for its old exclusive to return with it. The shared world pool is a great idea, but it takes away from the uniqueness of the activities.
Little idea I got scrolling through reddit. Discuss.
Iβm running heroic Ordeals to charge my lure to farm Blast Battue, and I figured I might as well try for the 100k score as well. However, I keep finishing at 89k, cuz the STRIKE BOSS only gives 240 points. The two red bar ogres that spawn in at the end give 10x more points than the STRIKE BOSS (combined). Is this a bug? Has this been acknowledged? Why is this the case?
BTW, just to add: His birth place was on the very first planet Halo depicted (Jericho VII; The Fall of Reach), and he was one of the many orphaned. He could have become a soldier of the UNSC like his fellow orphans, but nooo, he decided to take matters into his own hands, eventually earning ONI's attention. Pretty interesting backstory.
Also, Nightfall's climax is on the ruins of Installation 04 (also the first Halo we're introduced to), where that human-killing bioweapon orignated. Nice bookend, huh?

It hasn't happened to me, but I've seen video and it looks really fun. If it's happened to you, please tell about it, and if it hasn't happened to you, what do you think about making that a gamemode?
