LPT: Libraries often have far more than just reading material - this includes things ranging from movies and albums to pots and pans, vegetable and flower seeds, museum and aquarium passes, and more. Even if you're not a bookworm, you should familiarize yourself with your local library.
And in addition to these things, they're also offer a place where you can get employment resources and help finding a career.
I was inspired to post this based on the number of people I've heard say "oh my god...I literally forgot the library existed" this week in my home town. Don't forget about them! Even if you're not much of a reader, there may still be something for you there!
I work overnight at a museum. I believe in ghosts now. [A list of experiences]
Short background: I recently landed a sweet overnight security guard job at a museum (a museum I loved as a kid). Well paying, and a awesome camera watching job. It's a modern building, with big windows and modern steel-and-glass architecture, not an eerie mansion with spooky stuff hiding around every corner.
During orientation, both and and the other trainee asked about ghosts. We both wondered if our doubts about the paranormal would be disproven after working here. Our bosses downplayed it to us (they work in the day, and we're just some college kids they probably want focused on their work, not spooked out). But the other nightshift guy (who is quite experienced) told us about a "few unexplained things" namely:
- Odd smells suddenly developing out of nowhere and disappearing.
- Weird vibes around our older and more morbid artifacts (a KKK outfit).
- Two African-American male and female disembodied voices having a conversation hovering in the lobby area.
