Someone fire Zavala.
[Spoiler Warning] (#s "Shadows of Reach" )
In Shadows of Reach, there were a number of references to the "ancient classic music". Towards the end of the story just before facing Castor, master chief remarked that Kelly was listening to some classic music about "biting the dust".
Pretty cool easter egg haha.
For an entire decade, League players had to endure the mildly infuriating fact that, while every other Boot (past and current) always faced left, our tenacious boots was the only dissenter to face right.
With post after post, we demanded Riot to make the change, and it seems our pleas were finally heard.
5 years ago - Why do all boots face left, except merc treads?
5 years ago - All tier two boots face left except for Mercury's
3 years ago - Boots in LoL are mildly infuriating
One of my friends (who btw is extremely gay, doing her PhD in HIV/AIDS, and has done LGBT activism, using her research to testify to Congress) asked for movie suggestions with queer characters and good actors. I immediately listed Bohemian Rhapsody as one of my favorite movies. I was completely enamored by Rami Malek's performance in the film, and I truly believe Freddie Mercury would have been proud. I'm not sure any other actor could have done him justice.
I told her this. She got pretty excited and planned to watch it. I then mentioned "When he got his AIDS diagnosis I couldn't stop crying."
She then got extremely angry with me and goes "He got AIDS?! Why would you tell me that??"
I thought she was joking at first, but she legitimately didn't know he had died of complications from AIDS. She refused to watch the movie afterwards because apparently I had spoiled it for her. But I legitimately thought it was common knowledge that Freddie Mercury died of AIDS? Especially for someone who does AIDS research? Idk, aita for spoiling how Freddie Mercury dies???
Update: we talked and she apologized for overreacting. She was pretty stressed out with concerns over her research funding and took it out on me (her research is in science, not policy). We're planning to have a queer poc movie marathon and this is going to be the first one. Thanks for the feedback! She had a laugh over all the Titanic comments
