I wanted to get into the marble runs because I never related to real sports and this just seems better. What marble runs should I watch first? Should I watch the first one? The current one? Any other ones in between?
As a Balls of Chaos fan, what would be a good team chant to help me cheer on our chaotic brothers?
A week or so ago I posted a question on this sub that asked the community what they would name a ML team if they got the chance to use it in the ML. Iβll link it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/JellesMarbleRuns/comments/i0b3kt/suppose_you_got_the_chance_to_create_your_own_ml/
So this time around; you get a shot at designing a brand-new, never-before-seen event for the Marble League. Whatβs its name, and how does it work?
We are living in hard times. We are living in a pandemic. We have lived through times of uncertainty.
But one thing was assured. And that was the start of Marbula One and the 2020 Marble League. The Savage Speeders, The O'rangers, The Oceanics, Team Primary, The Minty Maniacs, Team Galactic, The Thunderbolts, Crazy Cat's Eyes, The Midnight Wisps, The Green Ducks, The Raspberry Racers, The Hazers, The Hornets, Mellow Yellow, Team Momo, The Limers and so many other teams were there to entertain us and to compete at the highest level of Marble Sports.
First of all, thank you to all the teams competing. I am a fan of the Oceanics, but I love you all and I can't wait to see you soon competing again because competition never stops.
Thank you to HBO and especially Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, the generous sponsors of the 2020 Marble League. Thank you for the generous donations made to several institutions who can use the money donated through the successes of the competing teams. As someone who loves Marble Sports and Last Week Tonight I was excited as hell about this partnership and it delivered bigly.
Thank you to the JMR fan community. I am feeling so comfortable here because our little Marble Sports community is one of the fairest sports communities out there. See you soon.
And now I want to send a big thank you to the JMR team. To Dion Bakker, to the man, the myth, the voice of Marble Sports and the best product from Iowa, the legend Greg Woods.
And last but not least a big thank you to the man who made this whole thing possible: To Jelle Bakker. There is one thing I share with him. And that is his autism diagnosis. And I love his passion for Marble Sports and that he follows his passion to bring us all joy. And I am not done yet. He made his passion a passion of mine. And I am extremely thankful for him for introducing us, the Marble Sports fans, to his universe of professional and competitive Marbles.
I must say I was a bit sad at the closing ceremony of this Marble League. My heart went heavy. But I know that the Marble League will be back next year and I hope my boys, The Oceanics will do even better than this year. This Marble League was a great redemption from the mishap they produced at the 2019 Marble League. I am so much looking forward to ML21.
And now onward. I am so looking forward to the next season of Marbula One. And if I may use a wish here, I would love to see The Oceanics making their Marbula One debut in season 2.

I am a relative newcomer to the joy of Jelle's Marble Run, like so many. I was explaining it to my coworker when he passed the question above. Who are the marbles most likely to get caught doping? Party too hard? Date the super models and drive the fast cars?
Edit: missed a word.
This sucks.

Imagine an app devoted only to Jelles Marble runs, combining the newsletters, interviews and ease in one easy to access place, as well as having tabs to follow Teams, such as the Raspberry Racers, this feature would show you a list of races that the team was involved in and give you both articles about the teams and footage of the team from past races similar to the overview mode in Mario Kart, this would allow fans to follow the adventures of teams that arenβt always the key focus in the races as they may be further behind.
also friends. I don't have a vip server for us but thats assuming there is an us.
As someone who discovered JMR in 2019, it's not been easy to find out the whole history of Jelle's Youtube channel. With the original channel deleted in November 2018, a lot of primary sources in the form of Youtube discussions and early videos were deleted. But that doesn't mean all was lost!
The following is a rough timeline of major events in JMR's history, with references to both archived YT pages of Jelle's channel and other social media platforms. The JMR FB page, for instance, is not deleted and still has useful information going back to 2012!
The story I want to hammer home here is that Jelle, Dion and all their collaborators have always embraced innovation. Jelle was already an experienced marble run maker when he started the channel, but the change from marble runs to marble racing was an incremental process. Jelle is perfectly capable of creating massive marble runs still (like his Marblopolis Amusement Park), but he's also a master at creating simpler, elegant setups that capture the competition of marble racing.
This is a work in progress and comments are appreciated.
The Marble Runs Era
- Dec 16, 2006: Jelle creates his YT channel. He produces a variety of uncommentated marble machines he builds, either in his room or as commissioned works. The channel also has an educational bent, with Jelle posting reviews of marble rails and various marble run mechanisms.
His first video on this channel may be his first Christmas race as well, "Kerst Knikkerbaan 2005." A few videos get decent views such as "Very Long Marble Run 50 Meters!" and "Future marble track."
- December 2008: Earliest surviving YT video with Jelle, from a local Dutch TV profile of a commissioned Christmas marble run.

- December 28 2010: Jelle posts one of his first truly viral videos (that would reach over a million views), "Big Marble machine: 1000 marbles!!" There would be several other videos of the "1000 marbles" machines, commissioned marble runs all with Jelle's iconic 1000 marble lever: once that number of marbles falls on to the lever, the mechanism tips over. https://web.archive.org/web/20130717073214/http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQCrlLGEQUc
- June 7 2013: Jelle posts a popular "marble mosaic video": "1000 subs special: Marble Run 1000 Marbles test." He would m
... keep reading on reddit β‘I am looking to pick up a Duplo compatible marble run set. Aliexpress has a ton of different brands. I'm familiar enough with Lepin, MouldKing, etc, (i.e. regular Lego-type sets) but I'm clueless when it comes to these kinds of marble run sets. I don't want sharp edges, it's for a 2 year old. Has anyone had any luck with these, and if so, which brand?
I know they use Knex, but I can't find anything on how to make this conveyor belt, so any help would be appreciated!!
