I know this will probably get buried under all the other posts, but I just wanted to share w you my baby girl who passed peacefully on Monday. She was a Manx which means she had no tail. She had the cutest, squeaky meow ever that would melt your heart. Rest in peace Abby! Mommy misses you so much!

[UPDATE] 6 Years ago I told you all I was going to study Motorcycle Engineering at University. I ended up starting a student led race team that competed in the Isle of Man Manx GP!!
So... 6 years ago, I posted to this sub when I found out that I got accepted onto the motorcycle engineering degree at the University of Wales Trinity St David in the UK. This update is really late and really long, I’ll try to keep it short, but I've been quite busy! First off though, I’m sorry I didn’t keep to my word and post anything over the years!
TLDR; I went to university and started a race team with a bunch of mates, we spent 5 years racing all over the UK whilst doing our degrees and ended up racing on the Isle of Man, cool pics and vids and links below.
Well, it’s been a long journey but an amazing experience! After 5 long years I finally graduated with a mast

Does Charlie Manx eat food?
Obviously, sucking souls out of children keeps him young, but does he eat? Does he need to eat at all?
I remember him drinking in the bar... hot chocolate? But that could just be for the pleasure of the taste. He also had some really bizarre old-timey food at the Sleigh House. Is that house in a time capsule? Where did he find all of that?
This little monster is four years old and still has the manners of a kitten. She torments our seven year old chonk and my eleven year old Manx can’t stand her. But if you reach for her brush she comes running. She loves brushes and purrs the whole time.

I’m Sam Mousley, Amateur Road Racer at the Isle of Man Manx GP, AMA.
Hi, I’m Sam Mousley, amateur road racer from the UK and I compete in road races on the Isle of Man. I first started riding at 17, I went to university and studied a Masters Degree in Motorcycle Engineering in 2014 and, as students, a bunch of us set up a race team alongside our studies. I have been riding for the team for 5 years now and racing on closed public roads for two of those. Last year we competed at the Manx GP (amateur TT) on the Isle of Man where I came 2nd in the Newcomers Race and 19th in the Senior race with an average lap speed of 116mph.
Here’s the lap: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oz9hJ8-joZw
I’ll be on all night (UK) so Ask Me Anything!
More info can be found here on this post from u/redeyedbiker who runs the team.
More info about the degree is here.

One of my cats is a chonker (Manx) and the other is normal (tuxedo)
Tuxedo is 16 Manx is 15. I leave them a little kibble in the bowl each day. How do I Dechonk My Manx while not starving my tuxedo? They are both old and pretty much sleep most of the day they don’t play anymore taking him outside for walks is not an option as they both been inside cats since I got them. Any advice would be great.

Thinking of getting a rumpy Manx but worried about Manx Syndrome
I have the opportunity to adopt a cuddly 8 week old Manx-mix kitten. He has no tail and is not showing signs of Manx Syndrome, but I've heard this can develop up to 4 months. He's been good with potty training so far. What are the chances that it'll regress and symptoms will develop if none have been present so far (2 months in)? Anyone else had experience with this, or have a rumpy Manx who developed no such complications and has been fairly healthy? I appreciate you sharing any experiences you've had!
Cancelem o bozo manxs 😔😔😔✊✊✊
Never thought I'd have a manx cat. No looking back now after adopting Ronin.

Breton, Cornish and Manx.
I recently made a post about Duolingo and how it can teach you Irish, Scottish Gaelic and Welsh but I mentioned that Duolingo does not teach Breton, Cornish and Manx. Many of you have said your opinion on Duolingo but personally I think it is a great app. Afterwards I realised that it is very important that Breton, Cornish and Manx should be learnt sooner so I looked for free websites to teach these languages and here is what I found for all of you guys who are interested in learning your regional language.
Breton- There are many websites that teach Breton but most of them require money, but a website which I thought was quite useful was https://www.loecsen.com/en/learn-breton this website is not amazing but it is free and it certainly gives you a lot of useful phrases and quizzes you if you chose.
Cornish- There were not an amazing amount of Cornish websites but one I found was [https://gocornish.org/learn-cornish/](https://gocornish.org

Can you identify my cat’s breed? The vet told me Mankey is a russian blue/manx. But he doesn’t look like a russian blue? - I found the breed ‘Nebelung’ and he looks exactly like them and the personality description matches him exactly - he just has no tail, not even a stump. And those fangs!

To what extend had the broad/slender distinction disappeared in Manx?
I am wondering this because sometimes sources regarding Irish, Scottish and Manx dialects or phonology can be contradictory and I haven't been able to find a clear cut answer as to whether Manx had fully preserved the broad/slender distinction (palatalised/velarised) that is present in Irish and Scottish Gaelic.
Some words (on wiktionary) clearly have palatalised consonants like glioon here, however, other words such as skee here have nothing written about palatalised consonants despite cognates having a kʲ or c. I was then further confused when I saw the transcription of /skʲiː/ from the Linguistic Atlas and Survey of Irish Dialects.
So is there an inconsistency of transcription or had Manx only partially retained the distinction?
Anyone else have a rumpy Manx baby?
