High Speed Maglev Rail

Do you think there will ever be an economic case in Australia for building high speed maglev rail between major cities?

Assuming an average speed of 375km per hour which is 75km per hour slower than the fastest operating service in China. 500 km per hour is realistic in the next 30 years.

Brisbane to Sydney (920km) 2h 45m (inc Newcastle)

to Canberra (290km) 45 mins (3h 30m)

to Melbourne (650km) 1h 45m (5 h15m)

to Adelaide (750km) 2 h (7h 15m)

to Perth (2,700km) 7h 10m (14h 25m)

The cost per km varies a lot between terrain, seems eye-wateringly expensive but is still comparable to any other fast rail which is much slower.

However with 12,000+ people normally per day flying between Melbourne and Sydney alone. The world's second busiest air route. Perhaps there would be demand.

Or will changing attitudes towards physical travel make it pointless?

Perhaps greater efficiency in domestic flights (green organically produced carbon capture fuels, hydrogen turbofans/turboprop that Airbus are developing) might change the environmental case?

Is Australia just too low populated and spread out to justify that kind of infrastructure?

Ignoring Perth, there is a fairly natural route to connect the east's largest population centers via a single sweeping line.

Each major city having a city central station and an out of city, car accessible, big car park, hub station to effectively replace the airport.

Will I ever drive to Melbourne (Hub) maglev station to get the 5h train to Brisbane?

Maglev Movement Question

I've been learning the game solo in order to teach it to my friends and it's been fairly straight forward up until now.

So in the image below I've set up the battlefield as shown on the combat card. The issue is, the arrival chamber is against two wall hex sides. According to the rules, the explorers shouldn't be able to move off the Maglev lift and into the corridor because they can't move through those walls.

Is there something I'm missing in the rules that would allow them to move off the Maglev lift? The only thing I can think of is that you can always move off of the Maglev lift, but in this particular setup you wouldn't be able to get back on. Would that be correct?

Maglev Metro?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone who has this game already and if so, would you recommend it for solo-only play or do you think it is only worth getting if you also play it multiplayer? How well do you think it would hold up for a solo only player? Do you think there is enough replay-value to justify getting it if you will only be able to play it solo? (e.g. are the stations placed in the same place every game and so the only variation is what bonus scoring cards you have to focus on, in addition to the actions you take and passengers drawn etc.)

Thanks in advance!

Retinue Character place in maglev

Adding a retinue (Zapdakka) made me realized one thing. Does the whole maglev count as one hex? Because so far I have been playing like maglev are 3 hexes. Meaning the characters at the back waste one movement just to get out of the thing. I ran into that when I tried to fit the retinue character in there. Exiting on the first turn on certain maps is complicated especially when it's a hallway.

Also, retinue can't use extra dice to move therefore are slow. Do they need to get back in the maglev for the mission to be over if all 4 explorer are already in there or are they considered in, since they are attached to the leader?
