I hope the devs brush off all the hate and see this game still has great potential to be loved by many once they fix some things.
I work in an office (due to the nature of our work and our employer, we are not working remotely right now) where I supervise a team of three people. The end of the year is our crunch time, and it means that my entire team is putting in more hours than normal and everyone is expected to answer their phones and emails pretty much round the clock (Christmas excepted, of course).
Most of my team is doing great, except for one woman I'll call Cara. Cara told me two weeks ago that she is pregnant, and she is about 10 weeks along. The only reason she told me in the first place was because I had to write her up for not being as available as she needed to be. She was calling in sick at least once a week for the past four weeks, and when she was at the office she was not 100% focused on her work. She explained that she has severe morning sickness, and that she has been vomiting multiple times per day, and some days she needed to take off. I agreed to work with her, and told her that she can come in later and stay later if she needs to to get around the morning sickness, but she apparently is sick all day.
I made other concessions, too. I am allowing time off for doctor's appointments and allowing her to take more frequent breaks throughout the day (apparently she can no longer eat a regular lunch, and must eat multiple times during the day?).
This all seemed perfectly reasonable to me, as long as she held up her part of the bargain and maintained her productivity during this stressful time.
Well, she has not. She has called out sick once already since then, and she has not made herself available for calls during off hours. My other staff is staying at the office until 8 or 9 in the evening, but Cara is out by 6 and apparently goes straight to sleep when she gets home and keeps her phone muted during that time. We have had to scramble to cover for her. Her work quality has also suffered, as apparently she has difficulty concentrating due to headaches and won't take anything for them.
I sat her down yesterday and relayed my concerns. She acknowledged how her lack of productivity has hurt the rest of the staff, but claimed that she is physically struggling a great deal. I told her that was no excuse, because she is only in her first trimester and barely even pregnant yet. I also questioned whether it was fair to other women that she was using a normal bodily function as an excuse for low productivity--this is what women fought to counteract during the feminist mo... keep reading on reddit ➡
Per Nick Baumgardner Source tells The Athletic Michigan and Jim Harbaugh are close to finalizing a five-year deal -- expected base salary is $4 million. With incentives, he could get it back to $8 million. Buyout is expected to be low.
Harbaugh hasn't signed. Is expected to soon.
My brother is 9. I got him a gaming pc for us to play together. He's always been interested in the game cause I've (29) have been playing it all of his life and he'd watch me playing it asking me about my cool dragons I'm riding. He made a hunter cause he's new and has been having a blast leveling. He asked to do a dungeon cause he got to 15 and unlocked it and I couldn't because I was in the middle of a raid. He got into 3 different groups and everyone was rude to him because he didn't know what he was doing and he got kicked. I could understand it if it's m+ and someone bricks your key, I'd leave too but in a low level leveling dungeon. Please as a community can we have some more understanding and make the game more enjoyable for new people? Think back to how you were when you first started wow and now imagine yourself in those shoes. You wouldn't want to get made fun of or kicked out of a group.
Just be nice to each other please. Sincerely, a guardian/brother of a 9 year old new wow player.
Edit: the people questioning my parenting, I'm still very new to this. I've had my brother for only 2 years now after our fathers untimely death and I'm still learning everyday on how to be a better parent/guardian/brother to him. I don't believe 9 years old is too young to play this game but you have made good arguments that I shouldn't let him do dungeons alone. He's in my very friendly guild and they've been interacting with him..in the future, I'll just let him run with myself or other guildies.
Edit 2: thank you to the parents out there giving me nice words about including him into my hobby. I started doubting myself cause of the comments but the positive ones are helping me out. Thanks :)
Edit 4: I ran a dungeon with him this morning on my warrior. It was jade temple. He liked the "bubble fishy" and he got lost alot but we still got it done
Most people I know that are Christian are low key terrifying. They are very insistent in their beliefs and always try to convince others that they are wrong or they are going to hell. They want to control how everyone else lives (at least in the US). It's creeps me out and has caused me to have a low option of them. Plus there are so many organization is related to them that are designed to help people, but will kick them out for not believing the same things.
Allegedly, Andre keeps most of the revenue of the channel while paying low-rate payment for members of crew and give them absurd crunch work (Finish Final Fantasy 7: Remake in two days for example).
Andre is yet to speak about this but is not looking good.
Please know that you can click on enemies that Ivern rooted to rush right to them.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve rooted an enemy for an easy gank but my teammate did not know they could click on the enemy and go straight to them.
It is one of the most effective ganking abilities in the game and I’ve realized a lot of players do not even know about this
I think cursing is an element of language that is extremely valuable.
Expressing emotion is one of the biggest factors of language, and sometimes your emotions are so big, regular words just don’t do it. I don’t promote constantly using them, but the fact that these words are taboo make them very influential. I think there should be words like that, so when we use them, there’s emphasis.
For example, saying “get over here!” Simply doesn’t hold up to “get the fuck over here”. It communicates a sense of urgency which would be difficult to express otherwise in a quick and concise phrase.
Of course, there’s always tone of voice to convey the same things that cursing does. But some of us don’t have that ability.
Personally, I struggle with tone of voice. My voice is flat and monotone, and my facial expressions aren’t very expressive either. My voice is naturally quiet and it gets no ones attention. So cursing, when used sparingly, is a powerful element
Edit- thank you for all of the responses and rewards! I appreciate it all :)
It would be a good feeling to see the Packers win a playoff game this post season. Perhaps several.
Edit: holy shit this blew up
I'm donating to the Barstool Fund, and I'd love for you to join me. The pandemic has troubled so many family's, and the Barstool Fund helps families in need quickly. As many of you already know Aaron Rodgers donated $500,000 to the Barstool Fund earlier this week. Its a great cause worth looking into. I'm not sure how to upload the proof in this box so I'll comment below.
Thank you for your time and enjoy the post season!
