Louisville, Ky. has become an epicenter of racial justice demonstrations after the police killing of Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old Black woman who was shot and killed in her home by Louisville Metro Police officers in March. The investigation is still ongoing, as are the protests in downtown Louisville, but there is still inaccurate information circulating about the case. Amina Elahi covers city government, and Ryan Van Velzer has been on the ground with protesters. Ask us anything.
I’m all for using free speech and sharing ideas and thoughts, but I’m sick of everyone and their mom reposting images and tweets about social injustices on Instagram, because everyone else is doing it and if they don’t do it then they’ll be judged and perceived not to care.
Don’t get me wrong, some people truly care and want to spread a message, but others that I know well only do it because it’s the thing to do. You could ask their opinion on an issue and they wouldn’t have an original/thoughtful opinion on the subject if it bit them in the butt.

Canceling someone is an entirely selfish act and I have yet to be convinced otherwise.
I saw a post on here saying that 6ix9ine's videos should be removed from YouTube because he's a pedo, and I just thought "why?". He got arrested, he got convicted, and now he's in jail. The justice system already got him, and purging the internet of his music only punishes the people who happen to like it. That doesn't matter to the people trying to cancel him, because canceling people is their ticket to fame, even if it is just worthless internet fame.
That's how cancel culture works. Never mind the consequences of my actions so long as I get to make the Facebook post that everybody shares or write the blog entry or article that everyone reads. It's sacrificial and nothing else.
The Justice Department on Thursday said it is dropping the criminal case against President Donald Trump's first National Security Adviser, Michael Flynn. Flynn previously plead guilty before asking to withdraw the plea, and became a key cooperator for the Mueller Special Counsel Investigation into ties between Russia and the 2016 Trump Campaign.

First off, I want to say that I do support the black community and I do think that athletes should use their platform to promote social justice in their community. However, when Daryl Morey, the general manager of the Houston Rockets, tweeted out an image that voiced support for protests in Hong Kong, the NBA publicly apologised to China, calling the image 'regrettable'. The NBA has censored player's support for the pro democracy protests, concerned that the loss of chinese viewers, sponsors and leagues would impact revenue. Recently, the NBA released a list of pre-approved political messages, including ‘I Can’t Breathe’ ‘Black Lives Matter’ etc. These are important social justice statements, however, it is wrong that they will not allow players to support any other social justice issue, issues like the Hong Kong democracy protests. Where is the line drawn? The NBA needs to either allow their players to make social justice statements without being censored, or, they should not allow so... keep reading on reddit ➡
