I'm not really familiar with him. I've seen a few videos of the carpool karaoke thing on YouTube but aside from that I don't know much about him.

I used to like 'Friends' and its cast. Now I feel that each one has been lovingly and slobberingly french kissed by a leper, and I can never look at any of them again.
So I completely agree with everyone saying James Corden sucked at hosting the FRIENDS reunion and he definitely shouldnโt have hosted it but thatโs because heโs boring and asked generic questions and smug as fuck, not because heโs not American.
I see no reason to insist an American host the reunion. Itโs totally irrelevant honestly.

Think about it. Clear live vocals which are always a fan favourite. Fun acting on the part of the members which always gets good feedback from judges. Great set and prop work, it's almost like they're actually backstage and in the green rooms! But most importantly, there's a clear concept, story, and a Wow Moment: the three key elements to a perfect Kingdom stage.
- Concept: The members are the staff prepping the stage for Seventeen's performance on the Late Late Show with James Corden. Easily understandable from the first glance.
- Story: Builds with the camera movement and uses the one take style as a clever gimmick to communicate the passage of time as the performance itself grows closer and closer. You also see the members change their clothes from the standard crew fit of a black t-shirt and the comfiest jeans in your laundry basket to their full on stage outfit.
- Wow Moment: While most Kingdom stages choose to make their Wow Moment a big stunt or explosive performance moment, Seventeen chose to subvert audience expectations (another important thing for a Kingdom stage: don't let the audience get comfortable, keep them on their toes). The Wow Moment comes right at the end of the performance, when Seventeen strikes their final pose and the camera pulls back to see that we were watching it on a TV, and it repeats again right from the top. Not only is this a neat surprise, it ties into the overall story by implying that the Late Late Show with James Corden is a form of purgatory from which there is no real escape and that the members of the hit kpop group Seventeen are trapped in an endless and hellish cycle of preparation and performance for an audience they cannot see. Not only does this set the stage for future performances, it serves as social commentary!
