I am pretty new to the area and I wanted to hear everyone's suggestions on food spots in downtown San Jose, near North Almaden Avenue, please! Preferably 15-minute walking distance, but I am open to further locations with driving as long as it is worth your suggestion! I am down for any food type. Thanks guys!
I’m moving and have canned and pantry food id like to donate.
Went to my local Safeway, and they said they no longer host food donation bins.
My local second harvest has drop off times, but only a few days a week at a certain time. I’d like to go anytime.
I have some individually packed microwaveable food from Costco and also uncooked rice that I'd like to donate. What are some places in the South Bay (preferably in San Jose) that might take them? A lot of food banks only accept cans and non-perishable goods.
Thank you!
I am in need of starter cultures of microworms, daphnia, copepods, etc. I know I can buy on eBay but would rather buy local. Thanks!
Landing pretty late in san jose. Was wondering any latenight food around the airport?
What are some dishes or restaurants that are uniquely San Jose?
Hello everyone! My fiancé uses this app frequently and I decided to finally give it a shot! I’ll be posting about my new food truck I just opened up. Some of you in the Cambrian area might of known us being called the foundation inside stevies bar and grill, which we shortly changed our name to ABVE the basics. We did a kitchen take over for about a year from last October 2020 to September 2021, things sadly didn’t work out there…but we did get our name out in the area. Recently I bought a food truck and excited to announce that are back! We’ve started back up at a few breweries in the area a few times a week. I’m currently looking to come back to our home base and San Jose area to find a nice location to settle at a few days week besides the brewerys. We specialize in American Mexican fusion, not anything related to taquerias and authentic Mexican cuisine. Please feel free to check us out on Yelp, Facebook, and Instagram @abvethebasics and any suggestions in the Cambrian area,Los Gatos, and San Jose would be greatly appreciated! I hope to see some of you soonABVE the basics website

... keep reading on reddit ➡I(23) am an incoming grad student and am noticing that this town doesn't really have any asian groceries or restaraunts 😅 If any of yall AAPI students have a car, I would totally down to do regular San Jose trips for pho and boba and stuff. I also love to cook and have small covid safe get togethers if you want to make hot pot or gyoza some time!
Edit: I'm glad to see such a positive response from this post! It sounds like there are multiple people with cars and many more who want rides, and I would be happy to organize weekend trips! Also, for those just wishing to meet more AAPI people (myself included) there may be clubs on campus to do just that!
Also, if anyone would be interested in me starting an discord or subreddit just for this, lmk. It might be a convenient way to organize this. Haha I just want friends who I can go to dim sum and hot pot with.

I have temporarily shifted to North San Jose and I find everything very expensive (I heard about it before coming) especially food.! Coming from AZ, I don’t think I can get a meal anywhere for under $10. Are there any places with cheaper and good food ??
I recently took a job with one of the tech giants based in San Jose, but living in a glorified suburbia **is not as fun, so i got an apartment in SF. Every thread I read makes it seem like I’ll hate my life doing that commute. Did I mess up?
To be fair, wfh/office has changed since covid. My manager said there are team members who come Tu-Th and some none at all. I’m in a hardware role so there are gonna be times where I’m going to have to be physically present, but definitely not 100%. I figured even if i’m in office 3 days a week, the majority of the time I’ll be living somewhere I actually want to live. Thoughts/opinions/advice?
Edit: I’m also a 24F, moving to the area without having any friends or s/o so being in a place where I could meet young people my age super easily is really important to me
Update: Ok turns out they do have shuttles for their employees! My recruiter is based remote so she wasn’t fully aware, and their policies had shifted slightly from covid. Thanks guys!

... keep reading on reddit ➡I used to work at a 5 star hotel a couple of months ago. Mostly the Jamaicans would work Housekeeping or Security. One thing I noticed, most or all of them didn't like is Mexican food. I forgot the reason why.
I know most of them liked Chinese or Indian(Happy cause I'm Indian). Does anybody in this subreddit like Mexican food?
Also, You guys/gals are some of the coolest people I met.
Right now the supreme court according to a leaked memo is planning on overturning roe vs wade and I was wondering if any of you know if there's going to be protests in San Jose over it?
