After the Jaguars traded away Calais Campbell to the Baltimore Ravens, Godwin said, "The Jaguars are a joke of a franchise"
On Thursday, after the Jaguars chose CJ Henderson in the first round, he criticized the pick
30 minutes later, Godwin deleted the tweet about getting an offer from the Jaguars. He is no longer signed with the team, as much like Godwin's tweet, the tweet that Jags blog Big Cat Country made about the team signing Godwin has been deleted as well
Here's a random stat. I wonder if any pair of teams would have an even greater number of combined playoff appearances without ever coinciding, maybe in opposite conferences, but it seems like it would be pretty much impossible. Still, the Ravens and Jaguars have done it in tandem 19 times.
Ravens playoff appearances: 2000, 2001, 2003, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2018, 2019
Jaguars playoff appearances: 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2005, 2007, 2017
There have only been a few times when both teams even came close to making the playoffs, often with one team denying the other.
2017 - While all the Ravens needed to do was not choke away on 4th and 12, they still would have clinched the playoffs if the Jaguars had not lost to Tennessee that same day in Week 17. The 44-7 thrashing the Jags gave the Ravens in London also probably didn't help.
2006 - Sitting at 8-5, it eventually turned out that the Jags only needed to win one remaining game on their schedule to make the playoffs... keep reading on reddit ➡
watched the dorktown series and thought of something
have best season in franchise history (mariners 2001, jaguars 1999, jaguars 2017 also fits) where they in all likelihood should have won a championship but failed to even make the championship game, followed by an immediant collapse and loss of relevency for decade or more
renowned for lack of succees from mid 2000s to 2010s
(at one point for seattle, currently for jacksonville) under serious threat for relocation, sudden deep playoff appearance saves it
frequently have memable or likable players on team as face of squad
loose yet passionate fanbase that is more in it for the love of the game then serious contention every year
main color is teal
never made championship game despite talented teams in 90s
only won their own division 3 times
