OVERLINE NETWORK: 1st true interoperability, DOT and ATOM can step aside now

This post is about a super solid gem which has been in development for last 4 yrs.

It is the 1st true Interoperability project without any validators. This is DEFI BEYOND ETH. Imagine being able to exchange your $BTC for $ETH without going through any wrapping service or CEX.

They have their own dex called β€˜Interchange’ which is secured by proof-of-distance multi chain mining. But the token has been listed on uniswap already by the community.

They have a two token ecosystem:

OL (overline): can only be mined and traded on Interchange, trading @ Interchange for $1.1

EMB (emblem): miners can receive upto 6x more reward if they hold EMB in their wallet, plus EMB governs the ecosystem (100mil circulating supply), and EMB can be leased out to miners for a rental income; fair value calculation says EMB price should be easily around 6x or more compared to OL price = $6.6

But EMB trading for $0.5 now. This is a solid opportunity I my opinion.

Note this: it is much superior technology than DOT or COSMOS (in terms of Interoperability). And super cheap right now.

Mcap: $DOT: $24.5bil $ATOM: $4.3bil $EMB: $32mil

Thoughts on Ruby and Elixir interoperability

Hi,

I am looking into Elixir to see if it can be used for some of the work we need done at my company. We're a rails shop (ruby has been good to us).

Just looking at the examples on Elixirs' website and it seems that it is similar to ruby.

Anyone have experience with Ruby and Elixir and building services in both. How similar is it? What do you like, dislike about Elixir?

Thanks in advance.

Zenon Network - Defi with Bitcoin Interoperability

Zenon is a massively scalable decentralized blockhain project, with mainnet set to launch soon. It will provide a platform for next gen dapps and decentralized data storage. It can be viewed as a defi project that focuses on interoperability with bitcoin.

I've made a summary of some of the key aspect I've learnt so far. This project can revolutionize the defi and blockchain space. DYOR. A discussion on this would be great.
- A limited supply of 8.8m $znn
- 75-80% will be locked in the network for validators or staking, so maybe only 1.6m $ZNN circulating supply with extremely high utilization and scarcity
- Listing on tier 1 exchanges upon mainnet launch, as well as hardware wallets, ensuring accessibility
- Current price around 8-12 usd per znn and market cap of $72m
- 10 major partnerships to be announced every 90 days
- Set out to massively scale Web3, and to allow legacy web apps to easily transition to the new Web3 paradigm
- Advantages include, high throughput, low latency, high scalability, low hardware resource consumption, low transactional data size, and low transactional fees
- Uses bitcoin blockchain as a trust layer/ interoperability with bitcoin
- Built in oracles at protocol level
- Ecosystem consists of znn, qsr and zts token, each with their respective function
- Zenon is exploring satellite technology to support the ecosystem in the future, in the effort of decentralization
- Peer reviewed white paper
- Open code on github upon mainnet launch
- No VC or founders who hold large amounts of znn and will dump it, also there was no ICO
- Passionate community
- Testnet feedback from users is that they haven’t seen anything like it before
- Currently features desktop wallet, state of the art web wallet and mobile wallet to launch soon
- Large staking rewards with any amount of znn
- Validator structure: 5k $znn for a node, 15k $znn for a pillar
- Anonymous founding team to maintain focus on community, fundamentals and decentralization. (Even if the rumours are true regarding founders, there is a good reason they chose to remain anonymous, DYOR will lead you down the rabbit hole)

Multigigabit internet access in France, 2Gbps, with interoperability.

Hi all,

I want to share the following thread, in the very place to share about Fiber To The Home interoperability in France.

A speedy speedtest.

In France, we have an internet provider that disrupted the market. We use to have non quota internet since DSL times. The "Free" internet company started to sell multigigabit internet access, FTTH with EPON technology, and other providers had to follow the trail.

Then, Orange, SFR, Bouygues, started do sell allmost multigig internet access. They sell and quot you 2Gbps access, but only provide 1Gbps routers...

So, we started the research to get the bandwidth we paid for.

At this moment, we use some Lantiq based G-010S-A synchronized ISP side, at legitimate speed, and linked to the SFP+ slot at HSGMII speed, so 2.5Gbps. We reached 2.3Gbps/650Mbps.

A lot of information about which stick to use is available there.

The thread on https://lafibre.info

Feel free to come and share. Google Translate is your friend.

Congratulations go to upnatom, on this post, who developed all the technology.

Question about sidechain interoperability and tokens

So I create a sidechain, is that sidechain running on lisk tokens compatible with main chain? If so, does that mean each sidechain requires you transferring lisk tokens from main chain into sidechain so that it can be used?

Or is the sidechain it's own token type? If so how does the sidechain interact with the main chain. Is it using the main chain to store its own tokens, or are they being converted from side chain value into main chain value?

I know the interoperability hasn't been released yet I'm just not sure how any of this is meant to work. I haven't looked into other cryptos on how they work I probably should. Just trying to get a better understanding of the concepts.

Interoperability between generic types and usize

I am a Rust newbie, so this may be missing something obvious.

I'm trying to write a function to interpolate between multiple values, which can be numbers or anything else that implements Add<T> and Mul<some float type>. In other words, it's like accessing a slice by index, but the index is normalized to 0..1, and you can access values "between" the actual elements. Without types it would look like this:

fn sample(values, t) {
    let exact_index = t * values.len()
    let from_index = exact_index.floor()
    let to_index = exact_index.ceil()
    let interpolation_factor = exact_index - from_index;
    // Linearly interpolate between values
    return (1.0 - interpolation_factor) * values[from_index] + interpolation_factor * values[to_index];
}

let numbers = [1.0, 2.0, 3.0];
sample(&numbers, 0.0) // First element: 1.0
sample(&numbers, 0.25) // Interpolation between first and second: 1.5
sample(&numbers, 1.0) // Last element: 3.0

// Should also work with non-number types
let values = [Vector2d { x: 0.0, y: 0.0 }, Vector2d { x: 1.0, y: 10.0 }];
sample(&values, 0.5) // Lerp between first and second { x: 0.5, y: 5.0 }

To clarify the requirements:

  • values can be a slice of numbers, but also a slice of things like Vector3d or RgbColor, basically anything which can be added together and multiplied by any float.
  • There are places where this function will be called millions of times per second (e.g. to compute colors in a software renderer), so I want it to be as fast as possible and avoid unnecessary conversions.
  • At the same time, I'd like to avoid forcing t to a specific type, like f32. I have code where values are already in f64 or num::Rational, so it's easy to calculate t with these types. For these cases I'd like the compliler to generate separate versions of sample() that work with these types directly rather than add runtmie conversions.

Here's my attempt, which looks pretty horrible. I use num::Float to require ceil() and floor() operations. Debug constraints seem to be necessary to call unwrap(). I think there are issues with type inference, and the error seems weird to me. "the trait From<{float}> is not implemented for usize". Why would usize need From when I only use TryInto or TryFrom?

So, I

HD voice interoperability confirmed to be working between Rogers/Fido and Freedom Mobile

I'm with Fido and my sister is with Freedom Mobile. She called me last night and I always thought the call quality sounded good so I decided to check my iPhone logs. This is what I found: https://i.imgur.com/895Y1Ao.jpg

That confirms HD voice is working between Rogers/Fido and Freedom Mobile. I assume the same applies to all Rogers-owned brands (Chatr, Cityfone, Primus, Zoomer and SimplyConnect).

She has an iPhone 8 and I have an iPhone XR. We're both running iOS 14.3. The HD voice interoperability thing is a big deal because it means Rogers and Freedom Mobile worked together to make it possible. I've noticed it since January 2020 and never got around to actually confirming which codec was being used until recently. It's likely that it was implemented before 01/2020.

EDIT: I just finished testing it with a LG G8X ThinQ on Freedom Mobile and my iPhone XR on Fido. HD voice interoperability requires VoLTE or Wi-Fi calling to be on and working on both ends. For now, it only works between Rogers/Fido and Freedom Mobile. None of the other Rogers-owned brands support VoLTE/Wi-Fi calling.

I found that turning it off on either end resulted in a AMR-NB call.

Note: HD voice interoperability only works with VoLTE/Wi-Fi calling on at both ends.

Interoperability Guarantees Ecosystem Cohesion in Cosmos.

The thesis is simple: Interoperability first is good for maintaining a cohesive ecosystem while leaving interoperability for later risks heavy ecosystem fragmentation.

Cosmos and Polkadot are the two best known interoperability chains out there. They were designed from the ground up with interoperability first in mind. It means that since the early days interoperability among their members is present. Polkadot has XCMP and Cosmos has the IBC.
Both allow for native interoperability across blockchains and parachains connected to them.

On the other hand we have Ethereum, that has abandoned for the most part native sharding efforts which were once claimed as the final piece of Ethereum 2 scalability in favor of layer 2 solutions (L2), rollups and sidechains mainly, that have been proposed as the solution for Ethereum’s scalability concerns. This came after the publication of the Rollup-Centric plan for Ethereum 2. It means that competing L2s on Ethereum will fight for users, applications and volume. There are three reasons for this:

1.- L2s are not interoperable now.

2.- L2 interoperability is an afterthought which is mentioned that it will be solved eventually 1 - 2.

3.- Without interoperability and composability among L2s, the ecosystem becomes fragmented with layers 2 fighting for users, volume and applications to keep them inside their L2 or inside a single rollup.
