My boyfriend and I were together for 9 months. He was my 3rd boyfriend (I'm 26 F) and the only guy I have ever had sex with. Basically I grew up in a very repressive culture and family where premarital sex was big taboo especially for girls. It took me a long time to get over that.
He knows all this. We were friends for 2 years and then dated for 6 months before we had sex and I told him about all my issues. He was the first guy I trusted enough to sleep with him.
We were using condoms and bc pills and I really don't know what happened. I already felt so guilty because I felt I must have screwed up somehow. We had already discussed previously how neither of us wanted kids right now.
I went to talk to him before booking an abortion and the first thing he said was he wants a paternity test because 2 bc methods shouldn't have failed. I was so hurt that he could trust me so little after all the trust I put in him and that he thought I was the kind of person to cheat. Also I kind of... keep reading on reddit ➡
This may be a bit long winded so my apologies in advance. There’s a bit of a back story so I’ll lead with that. There may also be more than one situation within this. My wife (24f) and I (24m) have been married for 3 years. She recently took a solo trip to her hometown to visit with family. While she was there she met up with a female friend at a bar. They met a couple guys from “way back when” and ended up hanging at one of the guy’s house after the bar closed. They were there until sunrise. I tried to call my wife at about 6:30am and my call was ignored and followed by a text from her that they were all listening to music and she was trying to show them a song. Whatever. I was looking through my wife’s phone a few days after she got back to try and find a specific photo I was going to use as a gift idea for her. In the hidden folder of her phone (iPhone) she had a selfie from one of the guys they’d hung out with. When I asked her about it she said her female friend thought he was at... keep reading on reddit ➡
Hence the never ending fight between Controller and MKB players, I thought it would be really useful to get some numbers on how many percent of the people are on each inputs. Maybe this helps to put this whole discussion in a new perspective.
Edit: I’m talking main input, since someone pointed out I disabled the option to pick multiple, which was intended
Sensory input gets sorted out by our frontal cortex – mainly the thalamus, the anterior cingular cortex and the prefrontal cortex. The purpose is to find the signal in the noise.
As we grow older our brain becomes more sophisticated in this. Just as you train a neural-network in AI-technology to filter out the relevant patterns the human brain learns to distinguish what's crucial for survival and what isn't.
Often the set of inputs our brain is tuned into depends on the situation at hand. Human-beings are mostly relying on visual input but sometimes you're so occupied with listening to something that the visual data doesn't get your attention at all.
If for example you ever tried to stay awake in your mind while you're body falls asleep – most practically apprehended by lying still on your back and resisting the intense urge to move (a status check mechanism of the falling-asleep-program) – you must have felt the strangest sensory inputs like limbs going numb, "seeing" bright l... keep reading on reddit ➡
UPDATE: I spoke with John this morning and showed him the message. I took some pointers from some of you about how to word it "Phil sent me a really uncomfortable message last night and I don't know what to make of it." he said "uh oh, is he alright?" "it's easier if I just show you the message". He read it, was silent for a bit and said "Yeah he's been hinting this at me every time he's drunk for a few months now. Never as blatant as this, so I kinda hoped it would resolve itself but it doesn't look like it's going to." He showed me some old messages, seems as though Phil is questioning his sexuality more seriously than I originally thought and has feelings for John as well. John and I agree that the main issue is that he's developed a drinking problem and as a result is sending embarrassing messages he otherwise wouldn't to a lot of people (another mutual friend has mentioned a couple weird messages). It's clear now this is a cry for help. We're trying to come up with a game plan on... keep reading on reddit ➡
I have found that i have plenty of time to spend on some gaming on the following weeks so i would like to play (in a relaxed way) to a nice, aged, not dead MMORPG.
The only games that i have played the crap out of are WoW and Guild Wars 2, but im looking for something a little older.
As i prefer fantasy settings, and after doing some searching i have found the following games could fit my criteria:
- Ultima Online (Outlands shard)
- WoM2 (Aurora server)
- DAoC (Phoenix shard)
Have anyone had experience with any of this games? Would you recommend another game instead?
Because I have seen several suggestions from people to fix the game by simply adjusting the controls or buying a new PC specifically for Hunt (thanks, what a great tip) and I knew from playing shooters extensively for several years that something was off, I decided to test the input lag by filming my controller and my screen at the same time with the slow motion function of my smartphone. This allowed for millisecond precision and frame by frame comparisons.
I did the following:
I chose the frame where my right thumbstick started to move and then I picked the frame, where the actual camera movement on screen started.
I searched for the frame, which showed my right thumbstick going back to its initial (middle) position. I then picked the frame, where the actual camera movement stopped.
I added the values of both step 1 and 2 and divided them by 2. With this I made sure that the results are less biased and might be a result of something else from either step 1 or 2.
I believe we need real change, and I can't see that happening with a Biden presidency. However, I have concerns about Bernie's ability to unite the nation.
While I appreciate Bernie's authenticity and honesty, I am concerned about his demeanor and potential divisiveness. I am wondering who he might select as VP. I am worried that he will not have the party support needed to beat Trump. I am also worried that tension between Sanders supporters and Trump supporters could become untenable during the general election.
So recently I have been doing input lag analysis on Halo MCC, starting with Reach and now with CEA. I will give 343 credit where credit is due, because after each Flight Update and to the release of said title, input delay is reduced (and in some cases greatly so.) All though this leads me to my next point, the input delay is still higher than what would be expected from a vast majority first person shooter on PC. And hope to see even more improvement in the future.
Halo CEA Beta part A: Input delay was 100-120ms - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKxjSJHlG3g
Halo CEA Beta part B: Input delay was 80-100ms - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hihdDQXJ4U
Halo CEA Release: Input delay is now 50-80ms - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKKJXkiH_R0
How I test these input delays is:
This is actually "are we the asshole", we being my fiance and me.
We got engaged June 2019, and decided to get married in June 2020. There was a certain band that we wanted to play at the wedding, for sentimental reasons, so our primary concern in setting the date was being able to book them without any scheduling conflict.
As for the location, we currently live in Queens, NY. My fiance is from Long Island and his family lives there, and my family is from/live in Vermont. The majority of our guests are coming from NYC. We chose a venue on Long Island partly because it was convenient for us, but mostly because we found a beautiful venue with an excellent wedding package that was in our budget.
A detail that I think is important: my fiance and I are paying for the entire wedding by ourselves, with no financial contribution whatsoever from either side of the family.
Since we informed our families of the details and sent Save The Dates, everyone has been attacking us for leaving them o... keep reading on reddit ➡

So controller on pc players go against other controller pc players, in my opinion if this had to happen I wouldn’t give a damn about aim “assist” anymore. Take all the aim assist you want, even take that gta V auto aim (which is what legacy was anyways) I don’t see how anyone could complain, controller players keep their aim assist untouched and kbm players will stop crying about getting 200-0’d. I don’t see any reasons why they shouldn’t do this.
It’s simple: get every card to somehow reference a character, scene, quote, plot, image, etc. from the movie, Jurassic Park. I got a solid list going so far but there are some glaring holes that I’m sure the community could help with. Lmk what you think! DECK LIST
Two weeks ago I (18,m) was diagnosed with ADHD which prompted me to start lurking around here. After reading several posts, I noticed how no one has mentioned this issue in particular that ADHD more than likely causes for me. All my life I've had trouble with everything related to speech. This can be anything from talking to just writing out words. I have this inability to gather the thoughts to even have anything to say. My mind goes blank in times where I have to respond to things. It's like I'm unable to form sentences because my thought process comes to a complete stop. Even on rare occasions when I do manage to say something it's always mentally draining. As a result, I unwillingly stay silent and hate social interaction. This continues to be one of the biggest problems in my daily life, given that communication is extremely important. Just wondering if this is the same for anyone else or if it's a personal thing. I'd like to hear what you know and if there's any advice you can gi... keep reading on reddit ➡
"At this time, we have not been able to identify any issues around this feature and the functionality is on par with the rest of MCC. There is no active development happening around improving/re-writing the legacy network code around this area of the game. Unfortunately, this would be a massive undertaking and just isn’t within the realm of what the team can currently support."
"No updates on this one. There is no active development happening around improving/re-writing the network code around this area of the game."
343: What the hell? This is unplayable. How you can casually dismiss this, let alone outright admit you're not going to change it, is beyond me. Releasing campaigns that play this way in 2020 is unacceptable. If anyone asks me about buying MCC on PC, I'll let them know that if they're doing it to play the campaign with friends, they're going to be disappointed.
So we have our awards!
Thank you to everyone who submitted their ideas and to those who voted for them.
How many awards we can have and how many coins they cost is already determined by Reddit.
8 awards that cost 500 coins
4 awards that cost 1,000 coins
1 award that costs 2,000 coins
1 award that costs 5,000 coins
1 award that costs 10,000 coins
1 award that costs 40,000 coins
1 moderator only award
Due to the amount of awards and the limits we have from Reddit, we have already decided the coin costs of the awards.
We want to keep them cheap so the majority are the cheapest - 500 coins.
We have three awards at 1,000 coins as these are for quality content and one award at 2,000 coins for a top quality post.

But why is this? There is evidence of it right here. Several times a day young guys are here talking about a woman, well beyond 10 years older than him, who he's crushing hard on or wants to hookup with, but he doesn't know how to approach her.
That gives me two possible options: 1) Walk up to a guy I want, flash a toothpaste ad smile and hand him my number. Odds I will ever that: 1 in a 1,000,000,000. 2) Online Dating (on non ''Cougar'' sites. I learned the hard way those are awful). Actively look. I have a bad habit of signing up to dating sites and then not even looking for a "match" or not responding to messages from guys I match with. This is quite annoying, my combo consists of 3 skills jumping into a pack but sometimes they dont go off, or if i've just cast and i need to escape quickly Aether Jump wont go off and i'll just do, im constantly pressing the skill 2-3 times. Tested agility with 700 points and it doesn't help at all, can we reduce this invisible cooldown between using skills in rapid succession or is it staying?
A little background: I have been with this company for a few years. I have built a great reputation for myself among upper management. They hired a new guy a few months ago. He contributes almost nothing and spends his days gossiping. He brings a lot of drama to work and upper management frequently meets with him to hash out issues. I have heard from upper management that he is under preforming and they want me to spend some time and try to get him on track. He just told me he took another job (upper management doesn’t know about this yet) and will be gone in about a month. His salary is 5K more and apparently was promised a bonus of 8k at the end of the year (total of 13k more).
My question is: What would you do? Here are some options I came up with:
With the suspected return of Trials we've started rebuilding Trials Report (https://trials.report), a good moment to ask our (potential) users for input.
Any thoughts/feedback/ideas/criticism you have are welcome, but we're specifically looking for answers on:
Is anyone else facing fps drops endgame, elevated ping, and increased input delay all simultaneously? I swear editing after the patch feels scuffed.

Why did I post this?
Because I've probably gained (and shared) more insights here at this sub than I have from reading articles from experts (none of whom ever seem to be aspies).
That is all.
The following is a comprehensive benchmarking of the performance of all NVIDIA's frame rate limiters (V1, V2 and V3), RivaTuner Statistics Server limiter and in-engine limiters in 5 games (2 DX11, 2 DX12, 1 VK) through their built-in benchmarks.
Although it wouldn't be the only possible scenario of analysis, I chose the "G-SYNC scenario" again as the only one when conducting all my tests.
The 5 analyzed and compared FPS limiters were:
The performance of the above frame rate limiters was evaluated and compared based on different performance metrics and related performance graphs that:

Conveniently, 2 days after making the flair changes to /r/canucks, Reddit is introducing a post requirements feature which allows us to make flairing your post mandatory. Would've been nice to have 2 days ago!
So, I'm gonna roll it back to the state where every post had a flair because it's reliable, whether or not people were 'taking the piss' it seemed like few were a fan of the flair changes.

I tried posting this before, but I don't think the post was seen by very many, and we didn't get a lot of responses. We'll try this again one more time!

Obligatory disclaimer of long time lurker, first time poster, yadda yadda yadda.
This lovely exchange happened years ago, during the early days of the fifth edition.
Me, a lovely and engaging player: "So, I want to play a dwarf. Soldier background. My dwarf comes from an underground dwarven city under constant attack from violent humanoids, undead, and other monsters from the Underdark. Is that ok?"
DM, a lousy good-for-nothing-know-it-all: "Sure! That's a great idea and it fits perfectly with what I have in mind. Here's the Fighter class for you to..."
Me: "Great. But no, thanks. I'll be a barbarian. The catch is, I want to reskin the rage ability. Nothing changes in the rules, but in this society, there is an elite force of dwarven berserkers. They use "dwarven battle meditation" to attain a state of complete abandon in combat. They literally give themselves to combat to protect their people. His point of view: he feels betrayed because I used to do more with his kids, and thought that I wanted to be part of the family, which he doesn't feel like anymore. He has frequently expressed that he's upset with how things are now (a year after moving in together) because he feels like a single parent, and like he has two separate families.
Background: he has primary custody and the kids live with us during the school year.
My point of view: I'm burned out. I used to do a lot for his kids but a lot of it was supposed to be temporary (like equally splitting getting them off to school/get home from school, childcare in general). I'm frustrated because things that I said were non-negotiable for me to move in (like that the kids HAVE to be in care away from the house during work hours because I work from home and they interrupt constantly--not an exaggeration, plus one of them is special needs so it's even worse than normal for two kids their age) are being gone back on with comments... keep reading on reddit ➡
It’s making the game a lot harder to play, especially on lower end PCs. We would really appreciate it :)
Hi, I’m an engineer with way too much time on my hands with some nifty Excel experience. With the controversy lately between Controller Players/Mouse and Keyboard players, I decided to take a look at some of the most recent cash cups to see how each input was performing and how many of each type were placing top 100. A common argument for controller being an inferior input even with the, uh, interesting aim assist options is that controller players generally don’t place. This is mainly what I wanted to put to the test.
The method used was pretty crude as there is no definitive way to look at what input a tournament was played on unless you looked at matches played on fortnitetracker directly after the tournament. With this being the case, I did the best I could looking up each individual player placing in the top 100 of the 4 most recent THURSDAY CONTENDER cash cups. I chose these as it’s a more direct representation of the general population of players. (More on... keep reading on reddit ➡
How do we feel about this? It goes without saying that there would no forced crossplay in this, unless you're queuing with a friend on the opposite input. It's hard to just have all controller players on A servers, and all M&K on B servers, because then we run into issues of crossplay, with players on console with M&K and players on PC with controller. But all in all, I feel like controller players complain about fast edits and builds, and M&K players complain about aim assist. Just trying to see how the community feels about this.
I am new to reddit and this is my first post ever so I’ll try my best here. Hopefully it’s not too jumbled up, but my brain is pretty confused by it all at the moment so bear with me. I want to give an accurate and factual representation of what happened and our time together up until this point. I’m looking for some advice as to what to do with my FMIL. We have never been all that close but we have always had a good relationship. She has told me before how she loves me and is so happy her son chose such a supportive and amazing person to spend his life with, stuff like that. But I can’t tell if her recent behavior is a slip up and not normal for her, or if this is just the first opportunity she has had to show her true colors. She has never been warm to me, but she has never been cold either. And it’s not like she’s just that way with me, that’s how she is all the time with everyone. I don’t let it get to me. I’m not the most open person either.... keep reading on reddit ➡
