This is my laptop. Iβll be doing comp sci 1 and 2 and software engineering 1 and 2 for the major. Do you think itβll be good enough or do I need a new one? Iβve had it a while, but havenβt done a lot of coding on it.
I'm Applying to grad school, and I see all these very similar areas. My major is Computer Science, but I have minors in Economics and Mathematics.. I want to be involved in Systems Design and Optimization, but I'm open to other areas.
I just want know how exactly are masters in COmputer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, and Industrial Engineering. THank for the help!!
If my understanding is correct, after being vaccinated, the body produces antibodies against a particular pathogen. This can offer protection to the body if any live pathogen were to attack the body.
But, and contextually in case of COVID-19, I have also read that, even after vaccination, the antibodies that target the virus drop in number with the passage of time. Contrary to this, I have also read that the immune system does have the ability to remember and retain information about any pathogen for extended periods of time. How do these two correlate with each other?
Does/Can the human immune system essentially forget the information on any pathogen after a set period of time? Is this universal to all pathogens and if not, what exactly affects this?
Enter your room number. This information is required for system accountability and inventory.
I'm concerned that the limited release and lottery systems aren't being operated fairly. The limited release inventory sells out while the website is inoperable, which suggests foul play, and in my own personal experience the same handful of wealthy people in my area tend to win the lottery. Does anyone know if I can FOIA the PLCB for information regarding how these systems work and how they're audited?
I applied for NUS IS as 3rd choice with 90 RP no bonus points, I donβt know if I can actually get in but I would like to assume I can. Heard that the COP rose a lot this year, and I did not take H2 Computing.
Anyway, my main concern is whether I made the right choice.
I generally have no passions, wanted to do a Bio or Chem degree at first but I did not want to work in education or research.
I have no experience with computing but I did try some online coding courses for basic HTML, and I like that itβs precise and whatever you code translates into a tangible result on the webpage. But I donβt think such a simple course will give me a good idea of computing.
I have also looked at slides and notes from IS modules because I asked a senior for it. I donβt know if I will like it but it seems okay because itβs quite systematic and logical.
I chose IS over other SoC courses because it has a small business aspect of it and thatβs what I am kind of interested in. Although I have read posts about IS and I know that NUS IS is a technical degree in the end so I am prepared to work very hard.
With an IS degree, I read that we are trained to be full stack SWEs. Possible jobs I have considered is working in e-commerce or Fintech? Those are also specialisations offered by NUS IS. I am interested in jobs relating to UX or UE design, but I wanted some insight on whether UX or UE will really be interesting for me. Or it could possibly not be the right job for an IS graduate, I really do not know. All I know is that I donβt want to do full-on backend coding, maybe some coding with a mix of management or interface design.
I have seen limited posts about NUS IS so I would like to hear more about:
The nature of curriculum β does it require natural inclination/creativity to do well? What do most struggle with?
What we learn in the business aspect of IS (concrete examples please, the uni modules page is kinda vague)
Jobs that IS grads could do (coding or non coding) and the job scope
Chances of a Merit/Global Merit Scholarship
Any advice :) Thanks
You already know what the comments are gonna be:
if the legal system worked you wouldnβt be posting this
I canβt decide if you are the least or most self-aware man in the world
What is the most complex simulation or model ever carried out, in order to predict the outcome of some system deterministically? I mean the largest amount of data, representing a system which contains massive amounts of information, like the weather or something.
The system version I am running is Micros Oracle CAL 3.1.4.141
The system seems very outdated and has networking issues often. It seems to not like communicating with other systems. I heard some rumblings from the staff that micros has been slowly becoming obsolete and it only being run by older hotel properties, like us.
Also the ticket formatting is not to our BOH teams liking. They have worked at other properties were they were able to consolidate the ticket formatting for the tickets the kitchen reads. I am curious if others have had issues with the formatting of tickets in similar micros systems.
In order to edit menus/mods/prices you have to go into a server room in the back of the hotel and it seems very old.
I was really just hoping for any insight on the system if people were/ were not having similar issues.
If anyone knows a good place to find information on these POS systems that would also be great! Thanks
I was contacted via email about my resume posted on Indeed for a Customer Service Representative position, but I can only find limited information about the company on their website. I want to know whether the company's legitimate or a scam before I take any further action. Thanks in advance for anyone who has answers! <3
Edit (May 1): Thanks everyone who replied to my post! Clearly, this is a scam! Good luck to everyone who's still applying and looking for jobs! <3
I'm interested in a particular computer science course tho it's title is information systems.Im just scared the name puts off would be employers, tho I will clarify in the resume if they bother reading that long.
[Update] To all the ppl saying I'm talking about SMU I'm actually referring to SUTD.SUTD CS if pretty good but goes under the name ISTD
Hey guys anything helps. I applied into computer science at Mru back in late November but I haven't gotten an email saying anything along the lines of "No" or "Not right now maybe later" or "yes". Is this normal? And if so, when could I expect to get a reply, my top 2 grade A courses are at a 83 so I was hoping that I would maybe get an offer in Information systems but its been radio silence since then. Would anyone be able to guess my chances of getting in for the fall?
I was a member on this forum in what seems to be around 2007-2009, and I can't remember the name of it. The closest thing I can remember is that the name was something like U418, but I can't seem to find the right keywords to punch into Google to dig up the name of this internet forum. It was somewhat infamous for the styling and invite-only system it had in place, I feel like I stumbled upon the forum through an avenue like /v/ or some other image board back in the day.
Hello! Currently, Iβm a freshmen heading into my sophomore year this fall and I had originally planned on majoring in computer science (Iβve taken CSE 1321&L) and I have registered for classes in the fall meant for computer science. However I really donβt know if Iβm seeing computer science in my future and I have been contemplating on switching to information systems and I was wondering how is the information systems major here at KSU and is there more and better future opportunities in that field. (Only reason Iβm thinking about switching is because Iβm not the biggest fan of coding.) Thank you!!
I always been fond of computers. Iβve only taken basic computer classes but want to further my knowledge and skills. I already have an associate degree in health information technology and its quite different from a computer career field. I do enjoy it but also want to set myself with another career path as a backup.
Something that interests or focused on is data inputting or data capturing. Investigate basic computer issues and fixing it etc. Iβm really interested in retrieving data files or investigating cyber crimes.
The more I look into it I found computer forensics and/or cyber security interesting. Is it the same field as computer information systems?
The coding aspect of it seems a bit difficult. Iβm not good at math and programming seems interesting but hard at the same time, but I want to learn and improve on getting better at it as well.
Can anyone help me tell the difference between computer information systems vs computer science vs cybersecurity vs computer forensics.
Can anyone as well direct me to education websites I go to learn more about it? I mean what websites can I learn basic knowledge with assignments before actual pursing the field?
Whatβs an introductory course for it? I want to take one course online before pursing it.
I apologize for being all over the place. Iβm eager to know and ready gain new knowledge and skills. I really like learning.
Thank you so much in advance.
Checked CaWeb and active-Undisbursed,Also looked on blueacorn and back at step one with no check but all my other steps are still approved except my funding stage.
I know that what's more interesting is a personal matter, but I wonder about job prospects, salary, demand etc.
I don't know how common they are, so in summary:
Information Systems: classes on databases, big data, deep learning intro, fundamentals of statistics for data science.
Intelligent Systems: Industrial Internet Of Things, AI fundamentals, cyber physical systems, machine learning, intro to robotics, biomechanics and wearable robotics.
What do you think?
