It's really frustrating that Kindle books skip all front matter (cover, table of contents, illustrations, dedications) when first opened
All of those things exist for a reason. Amazon seems to think that it knows what's best for readers and automatically takes them to the first page of text. In some cases they even skip the preface, acknowledgements etc. I hate having to go back every time, knowing that so many other people are missing out on the full experience.

I’ve been doing illustration and art for 15+ years and i just feel so completely and utterly hopeless :(

So basically title, art has literally been my life and what i strive for a career in as long as i can remember, i’ve had a few great moments, deviation of the day, featured on procreate story, published in a local zine when i was in university, commissions etc. Things were going really well, couldn’t wait to kick start my career and basically look towards making a living.
But life happened and i moved to finland, got married and had to go on language courses to integrate into society here and this whole process took 2 years so my career unfortunately took a bit of a back burner.
I started up again a few months ago since covid kept me at home, and i finished my courses. Was feeling pretty good honestly, got a website up and running again, instagram going again etc, contacting companies and art directors with my portfolio and work but it’s been basically radio silence
