I had a presidential suite all to myself. They treated me like royalty. Room service, food of my choosing, and a ginormous swimming pool that would make any kid jealous. Quite the opposite of what I was used to in a small town from the Midwest. Every night Ray and Saul took me to get ice cream somewhere in Nevada off base. I remember cruising along in the black Buick convertible, taking in the speeding winds, it was the only time when I felt truly free.
The night before, the day, we had a discussion at the ice cream parlor. A few other families were there, so we sat in the car, enjoying our cones away from their ears.
"Bradley, you're a real bright kid. I take it you understand what's being asked of you?" Ray started, he was shorter, had perfect hair and a mustache. He was in the... keep reading on reddit ➡
In my defense, it looks just like water. Not in my defense, it tastes nothing like water.
Well, earlier I had to use hydrogen peroxide to help get a bandage off a wound, so I made the mixture in a drinking cup (red flag #1) highly effective, worked like a charm.
Then when I was done, my boyfriend set the cup next to the sink, where we keep cups that are eligible for reuse before they go in the dishwasher (red flag #2) All of our cups look the same and have a copious amount of clear liquid in them.
Later, I asked for a glass of water. Strangely enough, it tasted awful, like chemicals, but I was thirsty so I chugged the whole thing (red flag #3). I felt it travel down my neck, leaving a warm, chemical-like aftertaste. Definitely a flavor I had never had before.
“Hey [bf], that water tasted awful. What was in that cup-“
Luckily the poison control hotline is just one call away. Bless the lady on the other end who was trying to calmly tell me the worst thing that would happen is... keep reading on reddit ➡
Following a long conversation on here yesterday, I am looking for the opinion of people who actually work in UK freight. Drivers, Clerks, Company owners, Salespeople, Customer service people, anyone who deals with vehicles or the consequences of their actions. Which do you prefer for the future of UK lorries?
Just the title. I would then rinse it out w/ water ofc. My bowl has the grime from using it and I really like to have my shit clean
I am far from being an expert on renewable energy.
If I understand well, hydrogen could be a breakaway because it can works both as fuel and storage capacity. Generating power trough renewables isn't the main issue right now: solar panels, wind turbines, hydro-power facilities...all those things work and are cost-effective.
However the main issue is storage as most of renewables are intermittent energies. That's why hydrogen is critical for the energy transition.
I often read that "green" hydrogen (hydrogen which elecotrolyze uses green energy) isn't cost-effective. Producing green hydrogen rn doesn't make sense from a cost perspective.
What if solar energy was 0.01 dollar per kw/h? Would it be profitable to produce green hydrogen at this rate?
I spend some time researching Nikola and am trying to understand it and if it will be a competitor for tesla.
It seems to boil down to this:
Electricity Makes > Hydrogen Makes > Electricity Makes > Car drive
Electricity makes car drive
So hydrogen cars are electric cars with an extra steps.
The only real advantage is the less weight. The bet is basically, that the weight will make up for the inefficiency, which seems unlikely.
What am I missing here? Why all the hype?
