Social media was one of the worst things humans have created
Social media was introduced as a way to communicate with friends or classmates and other strangers. Now, it seems that social media is one of the worst things ever. Twitter has become a prime place for lots of beef and drama and other nonsensical conversations. Tiktok really is just for people to simp over hot girls doing dances. Instagram is where everyone likes to post their whole life story, and these people always have problems with stalkers and other complications with the lack of privacy. I could go on but I'm really over it. Social media will never be the same and this really sickens me because there's a lot of good on twitter and instagram, but these platforms get completely drowned out by all the bad.
Edit: Well this blew up. I'd like to clarify that I don't think the concept of social media is bad, but I do have a huge problem with how we use social media. Reddit is no exception to the toxicity of the modern media.
What animal could just wipe out the entire human race if they were fed up with us?
YSK that the term “non-GMO” is essentially an advertising ploy. GMOs have no established health risks in humans.
I expect comments might say this is common knowledge. I will point out that a lot of people don't know about GMOs or science in general, including some of my own friends and family. This post is meant to address those people.
The only legitimate controversies over GMOs involve ethical or environmental concerns. One example is Belgian Blue, a breed of cattle that contains extra muscles. Critics say it is unethical to create that kind of cow. Note that the issue here is NOT human health. The cows themselves are perfectly safe to eat.
I will repeat what I said in the title: GMOs have no established health risks in humans. In some cases, they are actually beneficial to humans. Consider golden rice, a modified version of rice that contains added precursors for vitamin A. This was meant to combat vitamin A deficiency in Asia, which can lead to blindness. The public’s perception of GMOs prevented golden rice from succeeding, as was addressed in a letter from over 100 Nobel prize laureates (

We should have a separate Olympics for athletes that want to use performance enhancers. Just for science so we can see the absolute max of human ability.
Like we already know the upper limits of natural human strength and fitness and that should be the main focus. But it’d be really ducking cool to see what we can do at the peak of human ability + drugs. IMO that’s like the combined might of sheer fucking will and determination and whatever drugs add to the mix.
Why is it okay to put down sick animals so they don't suffer, but we can't do the same to humans even with their consent?
Basically why isn't euthanasia legal? Why would we rather someone killed themselves in more or less violent ways, rather than letting them die in their sleep and in a controlled setting? What are the arguments against this?
Edit: Well wow this definitely blew up. First of all thank you to everyone who gave me awards, I'm not sure what they are but it's still really nice receiving them haha.
While I couldn't read all the replies, I gathered that the main arguments against euthanasia are money and the fear that people would take advantage of it, as well as religion.
For those wondering, I'm from Italy and well here the problem is definitely religion. But we did have a very talked about case a while ago where a paraplegic guy was helped to die by his friend. The friend went to trial for this but in the end, he was found not guilty.
Anyway, thank you to everyone who replied, best wishes to all :)

The death penalty shouldn't exist, not because "it goes against human rights", but because it's unfair that they get away so easy for what they have done
A lot of people are against death penalty because they say it's a violation of the right to live, but I think that it should not exist, not because of that, but because it's really unfair that a lot of people who are just monsters who killed or raped others in such a horrible way that sent them to die is literally, get away with it.

YSK that Human Resources (HR) protects the company, NOT the employee(s)
One of the most heartbreaking examples of misplaced trust that I see unfolding regularly is this: someone has an interpersonal conflict at their job, and they're either advised to take it up with HR or they think that is the common sense approach.
What those people haven't yet learned the hard way, is that a company's Human Resources department wants to keep the company itself out of any legal trouble or PR issues.
This means that if your legitimate issues that you bring to them are more problematic to fix than not, you may find yourself out of a job - all because you turned to the people you thought were there to protect you.
They're not your friends.
Seek your own legal counsel instead, as well as workers rights advocates in your local area.

YSK Avocados are toxic to almost every other animal except humans.
Avocado contains a toxin called persin, but only certain species of animals are poisoned by persin. While dogs and cats are rarely affected by persin, avocado poisoning can be deadly to birds and large animals (such as cows, goats, sheep). The bigger risk to dogs and cats is a foreign body obstruction in the esophagus, stomach, or intestinal tract if part or all of a large avocado seed is swallowed. Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) is also possible due to the high fat content in avocados.
Pet birds, including canaries, parakeets, cockatiels, and large parrots, should never be fed avocado as they are extremely susceptible to persin. Signs of poisoning in birds include inability to perch, difficulty breathing, fluid accumulation around the bird’s heart and lungs, liver and kidney failure, and sudden death.
Ruminants and horses can also develop toxicity if they ingest enough avocados or avocado plant leaves. Ingestion can result in mastitis (inflammation of the mammary gland
