I don't mean "in app" embedded webview ; I want to know if it's possible that chrome or a chromium based browser from a android device might expose its cookies through an API to an app ?
This is beoming very irritating. I can't open a website without having "ACCEPT OUR COOKIES" filling up the half of the screen and going through 7 clicks more to reject it.
Is there an addon that does this for you?
Fb, gmail, podio, reddit and sites like this, should I browse them in a seperate browser dedicated and browse them like the NSA is watching or it makes no difference if I use everything in one browser?
Also does keeping cookies help sites spy at me? Should I periodically reset them? Also should I reset them periodically if I agree to cookies on lots of smaller sites? or it makes no difference
I am taking a course that requires us to use Proctorio to monitor our exams. If the exam asks you for a password, you are apparently doing it wrong/Proctorio isnβt working. The first time my internet was spotty as well, but even after I regained connection and reinstalled Proctorio and clicked βSecure Exam Proctorβ, I was still being asked for an exam password. Second time, just ten minutes ago, with good internet, I am still experiencing the same issue, which is still not resolved by installing/uninstalling.
The only advice our professor offered us in case this happened was βcontact Proctorio supportβ, which is a chat room bot that gives you the same preloaded answers. I have emailed the professor twice but she did not respond to the first one, might not to the second one. If Iβm going to install spyware on my computer, it should at least work, right?
#UPDATE 2: As of 3:20PM (PST) settings appear to have been reverted for most users. The issue is fixed for most users now. Settings still cannot be changed or saved, and the same error will appear, so be careful there.
Thank you to the admins who reached out to me, and to those working on fixing this. Sorry for the negative attitude, and I genuinely do appreciate your work.
UPDATE: Admin Response from Reddit staff
Reddit has been notified, and is working on it. Thank you guys. Appreciate the communication.
Starting to seem like less of an error, more of a forced change to something.
This isn't looking good. Get ready for massive ban waves and censorship in the coming days.

Is it still happening to you too? Apparently this has been affecting many people in the past 24 hours. Nothing has been done to fix it.
Google's "Before you continue..." cookies consent is back. I managed to remove it when it appeared around a half year ago. However it has returned and all the solutions I can find are around 6 months old and I can't get any of them to work any more. I use incognito mode for a lot of my more ridiculous google searches and really need it gone.
If anyone has a solution I would very, very, very much appreciate it!
Mine is in Norwegian in case that has something to do with it.
Many thanks!
Started using ProtonVPN on all of our home devices, and I personally donβt mind going through the captchas, but other people in the household are really upset, and demanding for me to disable VPN. Sometimes we go through six different screens of captchas which took over a minute just to get to a shopping site. I personally donβt mind the inconvenience based on the security and privacy, but I was wondering if anybody has any ideas how to reduce the captchas. I use protonVPN in the USA, the server is located in the city where we live. Windows 10 and MacOS with Firefox
Just curious how often the site gets updated. I wasn't able to find a changelog and am wondering if its updated regularly or every 6 months or what.
Specifically asking because I remember reading a post almost 6 months ago that advised against using the Decentraleyes extension as it hasn't been updated since November 5, 2020. Some people were instead recommending LocalCDN but there were some arguments to this. I also believe I remember majority of users also not recommending HTTPS Everywhere (Firefox does this automatically) so I would just like to know what the current state of this information is and if it hasn't been updated (which looks like the case) when is the next update? No need to make our fingerprint any more unique.
As we all know when it comes to Privacy and Security it's absolutely critical to stay up to date.
So, all the sudden this is how Twitch looks for me - the video is too wide and has a big black space, and the chat is cut off. I tried clearing cookies and cache. I logged out and logged back in. I changed the zoom size. I've closed and re-opened chat. I restarted my computer. I've tried incognito mode (which doesn't load extensions). Nothing fixes it.

edit: It appears this is a Twitch-specific problem and a fix is to have your Chrome font size set to medium. This is a new behavior because my Chrome font has always been set to large. Hopefully my fellow larger-fonters will report this to Twitch and get their attention so they can fix this. I can't read text that is as small as the "medium" setting. (It's not BTTV's fault, apparently - my bad. Disregard that mention in my title.)
Tweet @TwitchSupport or submit tickets to let them know!!!
edit 2: I contacted a Twitch employee on Twitter who said it should be fixed today.
TLDR: I hiked the Ouachita trail over 12 days in mid April. It was pretty rad, although a bit quiet. You should hike it, too!
The OT is a 222.5 mile mixed-use footpath that goes through the Ozark Mountains in the Ouachita National Forest. The Western Terminus is about an hour drive from Fort Smith Airport, OK in Talimena State Park. The Eastern Terminus is a 20 minute drive from downtown Little Rock, AR, in Pinnacle State Park. I first heard about the trail from Swami - it's number 8 on his 12 long walks
This is mainly a shoulder season trail. High season seems seem to be March - April, with a similar window in the fall, maybe September- October. From May - August you're dealing with heat, humidity, and tics. In the winter, you're dealing with snow. You could conceivably hike the trail 12 months a year.
33 year old male. Thru hiked the AT in 2017, and another couple hundred days hut-to-hut hiking/car camping. I picked the OT because I was:
Trail markers are all listed Eastbound, although the trail can easily be hiked in both directions. I decided to go Eastbound for a couple of reasons:
Getting to the Western Terminus (by flying) is more painful than getting to the Eastern Terminus, so I wanted to get that out of the way early. (If you're driving from e.g., north Texas, this is a lot less painful - a lot of folks drive to Pinnacle, park for free, and then get shuttled to Talimena and hike back to their car.)
Hiking Eastbound allows you to hit Queen Wilhelmina Lodge after only ~50 miles. If you hike Westbound, your first potential stop/resupply is probably going to be Story, which would be ~100 miles into your hike. (There are plenty of bailout points going Westbound with state highways and forest service roads.)
I didn't realize this at the time, but the last 30 miles of trail are exceptionally flat, do not go over any mountains, and feel like you are hiking through the suburbs of Little Rock. I'm glad I hiked this section at the end, because it felt like a mini "cool down" hike. I think I would feel bummed if my first 2 days were this part of the trail, but this is a good option if you want to start slow. There are not a ton of "
My 7 year old child is in remote school. I check his browser history regularly just to make sure he is not doing anything he shouldn't be doing during class. Starting in November 2020, I noticed pages appearing in the browser history that my child was unlikely to have visited or typed out perfect urls to visit a website like Kate Upton washing the Mercedes Benz CLA or going to the exact url for a youtube video about artistic swimming without first starting on Google or youtube. He is logged in a school account on a Chromebook I own, so the browser is managed by the district and the students cannot delete history.
I tried clearing cookies and powerwashing. After a powerwash I had him logged in guest mode and chrome://quota-internals showed data for youtube and the youtube watch history showed videos. I also tried adding his school account to his account I control with Family link with everything blocked unless explicitly approved. The search engine from the tab bar is set to kiddle. Even then the history would show searches my child did not type. Occasionally I would have to approve Google dot com because of a nearpod link the teacher wanted the kids to visit and there would be searches for random things like Kate Upton during the brief time Google dot com was approved. With family link and only Seesaw and Google Meet approved this did block the videos from opening but weirder things started happening like the tab he was using for Google Meet would get muted, nightshift turned on, and sometimes he would just get logged out.
When I first contacted the school help desk, they said because it wasn't a district issued device they couldn't help, so I got him a district issued device and the issue still persists. Lately its only been youtube videos opening in a new tab or window with no volume.
There is only one IT person and they cannot reproduce the issue, and a malware scan didn't detect anything. IT person briefly glanced at last 3 days of March 2021 history and saw that youtube dot com was listed first and says it's my child visiting these videos.
The only extensions and apps are the ones installed by the school. He is not signed in on any other device.
Here is a list of the extensions and apps installed.

... keep reading on reddit β‘A couple of days ago I was adding myself to the reserves list I got this extremely weird error: "Deze Fan Group is momenteel niet beschikbaar"

This did partly did rinkel some alarm bells but I thought nothing more of it until a recent news article in de morgen where the guy responsible for QVAX.be non-chalantly stated "Absolute zekerheid hebt u enkel op het kerkhof, mevrouw", talking about privacy concerns around that site. This prompted me to look a little bit further into the QVAX site and I started digging into the chrome dev-tools.
First thing I discovered, major parts of the site are being run in "developer-mode" where visitors can gain a lot more data of whats going on behind the curtains of the application straight in their browser. There even is a warning from the ReactJS developer plugin stating that public applications should not be running in developer mode!

After a bit more digging using these developer tools I was able to view the tool the whole website is based on: SeatersSDK, made by seaters.ai , a company that focuses on brand relationship management and the likes. Why is a company focused on brand loyalty and sales handling our data?
Even more concerning is that a major part of the code they are using seems to be documented in plain sight at https://sdk.dev-seaters.com/globals.html I've even been able to edit some stuff in my QVAX profile which I shouldn't even have been able to edit?
Furthermore, looking into my cookies and storage I can clearly see some marketing parameters (which have been clearly turned on as well), as well as my "rijksregisternummer" sitting in my browser storage in plaintext without any form of encryption.

Does all of this warrant a security concern? I don't know, I'm just a guy that knows how to use inspect element. But if I'm able to figure out all of this with a couple of clicks, I can't imagine what ill-minded professional individuals would be able to figure out. The whole thing feels cheap, insecure and they are clearly re-using some sort of fan management system as a way to handle the national vaccination strategy.
What's up?
The classic look of Reddit has suddenly been broken or otherwise overridden. Some sort of stylesheet has been loaded even though I have it disabled in the RES Settings Console.
Where does it happen?
Every subreddit that has a custom stylesheet.

Why is it when I click on a website and reject GDPR consent for taking my information have I now to say βnoβ again to legitimate interest. I mean the fact that Iβve already said no and you are asking again makes me think you are up to some shady business. Also, you disguise it like Iβve already rejected it so that Iβll click without having a second look. Im adamant that you can fuck off you sneaky information stealing wanksticks!
Hello. I wanted to try a vpn having never used one so I downloaded nord. It was fine until i disconnected from the vpn. After I did I could not access many websites. They would give me an "access denied" message, everytime unless i was connected. This applied to everyone in the house too as they couldn't access the sites either. Some examples are steampowered.store, irs.gov, and a variety of others too long to list. I have tried everything to fix this issue. I Uninstalled nord, cleared my cookies, on google and on windows, flushed my dns several times, renewed it, restarted my router, reset my router completely, nothing seems to change it. Even called my service provider who claimed they had no issues accessing the sites and that this was a user issue. This problem has been the cause of a lot of stress not only for myself but my family as well. If anyone can offer help, please do I am lost. Here are the things I have already tried
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flush dns
deleted cookies from chrome
deleted cookies from windows
switched dns to google dns
reset router
changed mac address to my computer's
called service provider
disabled/ enabled proxy server (neither works, enabling just disables the internet)
