I've been playing a deck in historic queues that happens to run 4 [Weather the Storm] (as part of a magecraft build). The first time I got paired against a storm combo deck I thought the game was unloseable considering I was playing with 4 maindeck hosers and a lot of cantrips. Then I died with my Weather the Storm in hand.
As it turns out, the way Arena handles your time per round makes it very unlikely you get to actually use your card before it auto passes the turn. Every time a player performs an action, it adds a small amount of extra time to your fuse (maybe a second or two, unsure of the exact amount). This means that, assuming you can execute your combo efficiently, you'll never run out of time as long as you are continuously casting spells or activating abilities.
If you are the opponent of the combo deck, however, you don't get those extensions. The "pass turn" button doesn't work still, so if you have an instant in hand you are prompted for a response after every spell or ability they put on the stack. Even if you are rapidly clicking on the spot where "resolve all" appears, it still costs you a very small amount of fuse time. And when you run out, you can no longer respond to anything.
Occasionally, you can cast your life gain spell right near the end of their combo and still survive, but many versions of these decks can actually get unlimited storm count, so the opponent can just keep comboing until either they kill you or the game forces a draw due to repetitive actions. And if they know the timer works like this, they can just keep comboing until you run out of time to be safe.
This doesn't seem ideal that the anti-storm card doesn't work against storm. I like that the fuse allows combo decks to work, but it seems like both players should be getting these extensions. Or, at the very least, the button that passes the turn should actually work and stop giving you responses to everything.
I’ve been out 3 years but heard this from my still-active friends who were complaining about it. In a north Houston, Texas ward (we’ll leave it at that) there is a Bishop who will not issue a temple recommend to a woman unless she comes in to the interview wearing panty hose. He has tried to insist it has to do with wearing your “Sunday best” but let’s be honest; the guy has a fetish. As a woman walks in to meet with him, he’s checking out her legs to determine her temple “worthiness”. My friends, who usually wear floor length maxi dresses and skirts, are now having to shop for panty hose to wear to please the Bishop during recommend interviews. It was not made clear how he’s checking for panty hose under floor length maxi dressses...
Fuck that guy. I couldn’t believe this when I heard it. I still can’t believe I put up with such nonsense myself.
Sorry this is LONG
So as many of you know we have been on a long legal battle with PHB and FIL to reduce his alimony since he retired. Well she has filled motion after motion, contemp charges against FIL 4 times, claimed that DH and FIL illegally took FIL off our house title (PHB fraud FIL accounts and lowered his credit score so we couldn’t refi with him on it) and stretched this out over 2 1/2 years and 7 of her lawyers!!
She ran out of trial extensions and even tried to file a joiner on DH so she could put a lean on our house if she was awarded any $$. She subpoena our title company and DH twice.
During settlement conferences she demanded $3800 a month in alimony and $119,000 is arrears and legal fees plus to pay for her car insurance, storage units, rent, credit cards. The whole time saying she needs to buy a new house. No agreement was reached and it went to trial.
Side note: the judge that ruled at trial had dealt with her refilling motions he had already ruled on so he wasn’t her biggest fan. Plus she said she fired all her lawyers because she knows more than they do. She got her law degree from google 😂
She showed up to trial with a past lawyer who was unprepared and once again threaten to put a lean on our house even though the judge ruled that we are not part of this and neighther are our assets. They spent all day in the hallway going over PHB rambling factless ideas of what she is entitled to. The judge wasn’t happy they wasted the day.
The next day it was on!! The judge put her in her place every time she interrupted. She wouldn’t tell him where the $350,000 went that she got from the sale of her houses and cried and rambled about FIL and his lawyer lying and they should go to jail for perjury.
The judge lectured her about the vile abusive separation agreement she bullied FIL into and that no court should of ever signed it and it was now trash.
She was awarded $1600 in alimony (not the $3800) Lawyer fees of $4000 (not the $38000 she wanted) And said the arrears were a wash
Not finalized yet: how much she owes in over payment of alimony $900 a month X 2 1/2 years, plus she can’t abject to the final divorce and will loose her medical.
Needless to say she is not happy and loosing her shit!!
We are on high alert because we know she is desperate and off the rails. Police will be called and we will defend ourselves if needed. That said I still am doing my happy dance 😁🎉
TLDR: ordered a new hose, overly excited about it, can't get it working, mom comes in when in not home, goes through my belongings and starts using it
Do, I don't think my mom is as entitled as some of the parents I read about on here, but this really wound me up.
Do life's tough, I'm still working from home and even though restrictions have been eased, I haven't seen family our friends in ages. It's really talking a toll on my mental health.
The other day, I decided to treat myself to a garden hose. I spent ages researching and then measuring to see how long I needed before ordering. The fact I got so excited about a hose shows how dull my life is at the moment.
Well it arrives and I'm excited to finish work and try it out! Only I couldn't figure out goes to attach it to the tap. I googled to no avail. I called my mom complaining about it and she offered to pop round that day and have a look with me. Hours later she's a no show. I check she's still alive, cos why else would she not bother to let me know she's not coming round?! I decided to pack the hose back in it's box, and it was out of sight
The next day, I've contacted the supplier for advice. Decided after work to go for a walk to clear out head. Get home to see my mom has let herself in and is on the garden using the b*y hose. She's had to rummage through my belongings to find the hose and can't see why I'm psed off. After all, she got it working, so she's clearly entitled to come into my house and go through my things!
She made me feel really stupid for not being able to figure it out and says I'm being childish for wanting to be the first to use my me "toy"!!
Yes, this seriously happened to my in-laws today. My FIL came out to leave for work and found a man, about in his 60s, in an electric scooter using their front yard garden hose. To do what? Well, he said he needed it for a "medical emergency." What was this emergency? Did he need water to take life-saving medication? Was he badly dehydrated and needed a drink? Nope.
He needed the hose to clean himself.
Because he shit his pants.
My MIL asked him to please leave, as he was blocking my FIL's car and he needed to leave for work. That's when the entitlement started and the man basically told her he didn't care if my FIL had to leave, he needed to finish his...clean-up. I'm guessing he's homeless as he acted like he had nowhere else on the planet to do this. A neighbor ended up involved, asking him to please finish up and get off their property, and he proceeded to yell and curse at her. Through the course of the incident he used the words "motherfuckers," "retards" and "assholes." This coming from a man who just used someone's front yard hose without permission to clean himself.
He eventually finished and left but not without further berating my in-laws and the neighbor for making "a big deal" of things (he kept saying thinks like "Oh great now the whole neighborhood knows I shit myself"), how he has a medical condition that leaves him with little to no bowel control, and how nobody was helping him. I guess he got his scooter somewhat stuck in the lawn and wanted help getting out. I don't know how my nearly 70-year-old 4'11" MIL was supposed to be of any help, but he thought she should have. I also have no idea how "exposed" he was or how much of him my MIL saw, but it couldn't have been pretty.
I've also seen the Ring camera video from up at the front door (you can see him roll up to the house and hear what he's saying) and everything they said happened checks out. I get that he was in a shitty situation, literally, and I'm sure that's embarrassing. But damn did he go about things the wrong way, first by using the hose without permission and *then* getting argumentative and indignant and causing a huge scene when asked to leave. Next thing we know someone will be setting up camp in their driveway and acting like it should be accepted.
