Now, let me be clear. Reaves should be suspended. Full stop. This is coming from a guy who the ONLY real sports memorabilia Iβve ever bought is his jersey. You never go full goon, and he did.
That being said, Iβm sick of this double standard bullshit over on r/hockey. Iβve never even posted there but just 10 minutes of lurking tells me enough. I donβt even know why I dip my toe into that cesspool at all, but, all itβs making me want to do is not associate with hockey fans.
βHurr durr, Reaves is a goonβ Really, wild fan? Like Dumba wasnβt gooning as soon as Reaves was scratched for a game? Like he didnβt fucking start a fight and pump the crowd up after like we on some WWE shit? Like we didnβt play him game 7 cause Dumba went full goon soon as he was gone?
Really, Avs fan? Graves isnβt being a goon when he takes a cheap shot that takes a player out, that youβd be calling for blood for if Reaves did it? Then he refuses to drop the gloves while Corey Perry was willing to after taking out Tavares by ACCIDENT?
βDURRRRR, all he does is hurt people!β You know what? I really donβt care about your garbage ass opinion, when the rest of the season, all you do is talk about how this team and these fans donβt deserve to exist for the grand sin of being a new team with new hockey fans. Itβs almost like, I donβt know, Vegas had a mass shooting before our inaugural season, and the Knights gave us something to rally around. Fuck outta here if you are such an elitist prick you donβt even want new fans which GROWS THE SPORT.
Yβall act like your teams ainβt been playing goony too all playoffs which is horseshit.
What Reaves did was wrong. But fuck your opinion when you talk shit on us harder than any other team the rest of the year, get so salty that you complain about βGoLdEn ReFsβ, and wish injury on our players when you complained about Reavo one comment before
If yβall are gonna act like shit to new hockey fans, and talk shit on us for the sole reason that we exist, I donβt give a fuck about your opinion on what happened. You talk year round about how you hope people get injured, about how we βcheatβ and βbribe refsβ, then you wanna come in here and act like a fucking paragon of virtue calling for Reavesβ head, and weβre supposed to...listen to you? Because weβre βnewβ fans when many of us arenβt?
No, fuck off. Fuck right back to your shitty team that didnβt make playoffs, and your whiny subreddit where you dig up videos of old penaltie

Just getting annoying seeing all the banter and whining that occasionally spring up recently in the GDTs - no one comes here to hear about Mitch Marner or Carey Price.
Letβs talk about our boys in baby blue βΎοΈ πͺ π¦
Because if they were 90 degrees, the ice would melt.
Mine is having home fans doesn't help the home team. home/away records are almost a 50/50 split - with the true advantages having the last change and more rest from not having to travel.
I donβt want this to become an old vs new school debate, but I generally love using data to help interpret things and think it adds interesting elements to the conversation. In baseball, football, and basketball, Iβve just naturally picked up on all the terminology / if not, I feel like articles and analysis always explains what everything means in an easy to understand manner.
I follow hockey the most, and somehow itβs the only sport I feel lost in.
I know basic Corsi and such, but I just feel like I see constant tweets showing graphs that make no sense, with 30 bizarre acronyms.
Am I alone in this? Or has the hockey community done a worse job introducing such concepts?

Edit: To all the people reading this thread, as a minority, I would love it if you, when you recognize bigoted shit happening around you, to make it fucking awkward and uncomfortable, and say "Hey. That's not okay." You think what makes us feel uncomfortable is people saying prejudiced things, and it is, but what makes us feel truly unwelcome is when nobody does anything about it.
It's so, so much easier for a white dude to stand up against sexism, racism, or homophobia than it is for us. It means something completely different, something much more impactful, when it comes from your own kind.
Good luck Canada, we're all counting on you.
Bouchard can develop with our prospects and then we promote him with the group of players heβs developed, if he wants though he can come up before dirk what his priorities are
I have to get this off my chest because it's been driving me up a wall ever since the issue first started coming to a head. A little backstory, my coworker has been working here for 3 years, I have been working for 6 months. We each have our own private desk area, where you can't really hear what's going on in each other's space (unless it's loud).
I noticed that whenever there's a sports game my coworker would always have his phone in front of his keyboard, listening to the whatever game, whenever I walk by basically.
I didn't listen to anything when I worked when I first started because I wanted to be a good cookie.
But since then I like a few different podcasts, mostly all female dual co-hosted, we're just kind of banter and make some jokes, talk about whatever thing is going on.
My boss is male. And he's visited me while I have been listening to this WHILE WORKING MIND YOU (I always do as I'm told and finish above and beyond because I grew up in household that drilled working hard and pleasing your boss into my head, and it's really important to me) and he said that it was distracting.
Now I had my phone screen on, so I give him the benefit of the doubt and I turned it off and then a separate day I flipped my phone over turned off the phone screen and continued listening.
This time I got reprimanded I got in trouble.
I made comparison to what was different about the men in my department listening to their hockey game together, and he talked it up to banter is different basically.
This has been raising my blood pressure and infuriating me. I've shared with my other girlfriends, but, they told me to wear headphones which now I'm afraid to even try.
This is not a double standard? Am I crazy?
Thanks for reading, I know this is kind of a rant. Peace xo
EDIT: ANYONE WHO FEELS LIKE COMMENTING ABOUT HEADPHONES SAVE YOUR BREATH. They aren't allowed and like I said above the office is incredibly private.
Anyone who wants to comment that I should eat my sock, and swallow my fate: I would hate to live in your world where you accept things the way they are without questioning. Pitty.
Also "female banter" for those who don't want to read my comments, is referring to a podcast where women talk about motherhood and traveling
The sports show they listen to is SportsCenter, a bar past time, and they distract themselves chatting about the game during work hours
I stick to my business and do my work
If you think it's fair that my boss says it's too d
