Deleting old media that has blackface in it is one step closer to us erasing other pieces of history and is akin to Orwell’s 1984
I don’t know why we are just fine with old media that is offensive just getting erased. It’s like we’re ignoring the shit we did in the past by erasing it and making it hard to find instead of just saying “hey, we used to be more fucked up as a society and these things were okay.” We’re painting a false image of humanity and it’s just wrong, and I hate it. It doesn’t actually help anyone to just get rid of these things, all we’re doing is raising a generation of people who don’t know that we did these things. We are keeping them ignorant instead of teaching them why these things are wrong.

Hey, it's Brian Baumgartner! I portrayed Kevin Malone (accounting guru and chili master) on NBC's The Office and I'm here today to discuss my new podcast, “An Oral History of The Office", hosted by yours truly. I've teamed up with Spotify to give you a show that features interviews with the cast and creators, and reveals some never-before-heard stories from the people who knew the series the best. The 12-episode podcast will be available exclusively on Spotify on 7/14. Immersive, intimate, emotional and elevated, the podcast pulls back the curtain on what went into creating this unstoppable force in American popular culture and shares the theories as to why it remains such an important part of the cultural zeitgeist.

UPDATE AITA for not sharing my medical history before being pranked?

Heyo! I had a few folks message me over the last couple of months, the latest tonight. I touches me that so many of you still message me to see if things are going well, so I wanted to update people en masse.
Life is going phenomenally. I axed the friend group, and have since been kicking butt. I realized that if my close friend group was consistently putting me down or taking advantage of me, who else could be. The biggest answer was myself. I stopped doing things I enjoyed to invest in people that took joy in hurting me (Turns out it went so much deeper than gas lighting).
I got two new hobbies, wood working and brewing. I absolutely love them both, and have made friends in those communities. I started cooking instead of take out and I m

CMV: Americans treat / discuss about 9/11 as if it was one of the worst or most devastating events in history, it shows both how hypocritical American's are as in regards to international affair as well as how narrow-minded some American's are.
Okay, the total number of lives that were lost during 9/11 was: 2977. Because of this (not purely) the US invaded Afghanistan as well as began the "war on terror". From the West, since the Afghan war began there have almost been 4k military deaths (Western states only), almost 100k deaths/serious injuries to CIVILIANS in the last 10 years within Afghanistan alone. If you want to add the 10 more years since they began the war, plus the many other countries they have ruined economically and physically then the number is easily tenfold.
Please don't get me wrong, it was a tragedy and an act of terrorism, but the way that Americans speak about it and describe the events, its as if they way to justify the millions and millions of lives they have ruined in response. It's also not just the way they speak of it or remember it, its the EXTREMELY hypocritical ways in which leading US politicians/economists/leaders reference it, some examples:
Rudy Giuliani: "The attacks of September 11th were

History is a criminally underrated subject, it just needs to be taught differently.
Seriously, history is actually really fun, in History, you get to learn about past events, how your country came to be, what happened before this happened, it's actually quite interesting. However, many people find history a boring subject in schools, and I can understand that. History should not be taught by dates to memorize, but what happened during those events, and dates, if necessary should be implemented there. If history in schools was taught like this, many people would enjoy History better.

Hiko is the unluckiest player in the history of NA FPS
To start, I think we could all agree that Hiko is a great individual and team player. He has been mostly consistent in CS and even brought Liquid to a major final, the first time that a NA team reached such level. He is a good support player, clutcher, and entry fragger. He also played a huge part in s1mple's success by bringing him to liquid. In short, on an individual level, Hiko is the archetype for one of the most successful CSGO players.
However, when you look at Hiko's roster history and results, it seems to me that he is often let down by his teammates. First, his dream team, IBP, was banned for throwing. Then the Liquid era, and we all know how that went: chokes after chokes. Hiko was not to blame for any of those games. His time in Rogue is probably the worst of all. After Rogue was gaining success after months of inactivity, the Danish people on his team left because they want to go back to Denmark. He moved to Vegas for Rogue, practiced all day and gave up much of his stre
