Throughout the show, Iroh has shown his actions that seem silly or weird have a double, deeper meaning when we know more about Iroh and I think his love of Tea is a perfect example of that.
It clicked with me when we see Iroh explain to Zuko how that learning from all 4 elements helps to create a more rounded view of the world and be a better person.
To make Tea, you need all 4 elements to work together to it succeed, you need the clay for the teapots and cups, the water for the substance of the tea, Fire to heat up the Tea and the air blown on the hot tea to cool it so you can drink it (even if you leave it out to cool naturally, it would get cold and taste worse to drink). If you take one element out, tea is either impossible or worse without it.
It's just fascinating thought and the depth of Iroh that people may dismiss if anybody looked at him on a surface level.
Yep, it‘s a scam, plain and simple.
It's the most basic low effort deck ever. Basically you don't rely on skills or even need much luck. You just play cards that synergize themself without any real depth involved. There are no real adjustments etc, the game plan is almost always the same etc.
In light of the tragic killing of George Floyd by police officers in Minneapolis, subsequent protests, and the vital conversations now happening in the United States and around the world, the moderators of r/gunners would like to take a moment to call our community to action.
As we contemplate widespread racial injustice and consider how we might best respond to it, let each of us be inspired by Arsenal’s long-standing motto. Victoria Concordia Crescit translates roughly to victory through harmony. What wisdom does this message offer us? Like all battles worth fighting, the fight against racial injustice will be won through collective, constructive action.
The first step toward building harmony is for each of us to put our mouths where our hearts are and our money where our mouths are. Engage in conversations about race. Work to understand the struggles of people who don’t look like you. Defend their freedom, their safety, and their security. Do not stand idly by when you... keep reading on reddit ➡
I am almost out the door for work, so I didn't search and see if this was already answered. Sorry about that.
All examples of Functional Harmy that I have found are in the major scale. So how do the Dominant, Subdominant, and Tonic chords line up with some more exotic scales like Lydian Minor or Phrygian Dominant? My impression is that the chord itself would take the characteristics of a Subdominant instead of the position it is in within the scale, but I am here for answers. Thanks in advance.
Through our eyes, the universe is perceiving itself. Through our ears, the universe is listening to its harmonies. We are the witnesses through which the universe becomes conscious of its glory, of its magnificence.
Things are as they are. Looking out into the universe at night, we make no comparisons between right and wrong stars, nor between well and badly arranged constellations.
We do not "come into" this world; we come out of it, as leaves from a tree. As the ocean "waves," the universe "peoples." Every individual is an expression of the whole realm of nature, a unique action of the total universe.

From Shams’ latest piece on The Athletic on the dysfunction between Beilein and the Cavs players. Full context:
> Instead, multiple players began playing songs that included the word “thug” whenever Beilein was within earshot, sources said: Bone Thugz-n-Harmony’s “Thuggish Ruggish Bone” and Tupac’s “Thugz Mansion” among them. As the team boarded the bus a few days after the incident, one player was intentionally playing Trick Daddy’s “I’m a Thug” with Beilein a few feet away. Other players blasted songs with the word “thug” loudly during workouts in the facility. Players did this to make light of a very tough situation, according to one team source.
I am pretty new to the lspdfr and i just wanted to say i got my first arrest. there were 2 suspects, but apparently, i opened the door so hard that the door killed her, but i called in paramedics which revived one of the other robbers and i brought him to jail. I am pretty proud of myself
And I’m not even trying to argue that the two songs are crazy similar, because they’re not as far as the underlying musicality is concerned. But it’s a key point in the song, and it’s basically a carbon copy of Work From Home. I know a lot of songs have choruses that repeat the same word, but M&M is the exact same tempo, and even has similar quick interjection of words in-between the repetitions.
And it’s not like Twice and JYP could possibly feign ignorance about Work From Home. That song was a huge international hit. It has 2.2 Billion (with a B) views on YouTube. And it just came out four years ago, which is recent enough that even people that only heard it a couple of times can easily recall it.
If this had happened to a k-pop group, there would be a post everyday on /r/kpop, boycott threats on twitter, investigations on Billboard, etc. I know I’m exaggerating but still, if the roles were reversed, this would be a MUCH bigger deal.
I’m not sure what year it was, but they did a demonstration once in a Boeing 757 the day of a fireworks show off of English Bay, doing some crazy, unexpected manoeuvres for such a large plane. I can’t seem to find any evidence of this online whatsoever—do any of you happen to have any home videos or anything of it?
Amateur musician here, with scant theory knowledge. Naturally, I've heard the terms "harmony" and "polyphony" bandied about before, and I have a feel for the intuitively distinct musical phenomena they each reference, but nevertheless — if I try to explain to myself, exactly and formally, the point at which they diverge, I find myself at a loss.
To my ear, the hallmark of a discrete secondary melodic voice, as opposed to mere harmonic accompaniment, is a sense of independence from the primary melody. But this "sense," as a kind of threshold between concepts, is proving difficult to pin down in more technical terms.
A few observations: two defined melodic lines will often only imperfectly "follow" each other rhythmically — by accenting different beats, or, more strikingly, by having one line continue on while the other dips into a rest. It seems like one natural heuristic for identifying polyphony, as such, would be that a polyphonic line withstands the silence of the other line(s), a... keep reading on reddit ➡
I was thinking about making a card game as a teaching tool for Functional Harmony. Each card would be a an chord. The deck would be shuffled,a certain amount would be given to the players, and one of the cards would be taken and used as the root chord. To make things simple, the scaled used would always be major,so even if the first card is minor,it would be used as if it was major.(This rule could be changed though.)
Since the first card was the tonic, the person is allowed to play either another tonic,a predominant or a dominant chord "card",as long as it is diatonic to the scale in which that chard is the root chord. The next person would have to follow the rules of functional harmony. (Ex:If the person plays a dominant, you have to resolve it into a tonic). If the person doesn't have a proper card to play(the chord isn't diatonic, doesn't have a tonic to resolve the previous dominant,etc..) they can skip their turn. They are also allowed to exchange a card for one in the deck per turn.The... keep reading on reddit ➡

The differences in quality vs this trip and my previous trip are astounding. PKM last time was excellent. It was super, super, sticky, flavorful, and had an interesting texture and had a unique darker brown color when ground up. This time around, it looks like a completely different weed: generic green, its not sticky at all, less flavorful, and a harsher hit. I've never called a dispensary to complain before, but I did today. It honestly seems like the wrong bud. I could be wrong, but I don't know.Chrome Cake this time around is also much harsher of a hit and a more short lived high.I also got Zercules and Piehole. They appear to be better, and have shorter packaging to dispensing dates.
Edit: The quality of my Pie Hole and Zercules aren't nearly what they have been in the past either. Pieh Hole pulverizes so much when ground up. Zercules in the past had a spicy,
Title, not the perfect roll, but its something to start replacing your surges
I understand how basic chord progressions work and also how you can add certain colours to your chords with inversions/ different voicings/ 7ths 9ths etc. I can understand this until 9th chords but then it gets iffy in the realm of chord progressions. I understand how you build chords and cool voicings say a C13 or a Amin11 but I don‘t understand how these new complex chords fit into chord progressions as they often loose their basic function if you will with so many notes and some left out we stray from the functional harmony functions of the chords in ym mind. The chords aren’t really that different from one another in terms of notes and in general kinda vague as they grow and certain notes are left out. It feels hard to pinpoint the role of a chord when it is so vague/ambigous in the sense of functional harmony, say a chord could be the inversion of another chord and an inversion or sus of another chord etc. There are alot of toturials out there that show how to build extended ch... keep reading on reddit ➡
