Starting a SM army so I am splitting out the necron halfs and the books. I also have two space wolf upgrade sprues and the space wolf primaris battle leader from the primaris space wolf start collecting set.
I work odd hours so please PM or reply, no messenger. Thank you.
So I saw this image while randomly trawling about the Velveteen Rabbit on Google today, and it just sent me a huge wave of childhood nostalgia that now I desperately need to get the title of the book series this illustration came from.
I remember it to be a hardbound color-coded collection of children's and children-themed books from maybe the late 70s to the early 80s. Aside from the Velveteen Rabbit, I remember it to have other short stories featured (not necessarily in the same book) such as the Three Billy Goats Gruff, Winnie the Pooh (the one where Pooh got stuck on a hole), the Japanese folktale Peach Boy (Momotaro), then there's a story featuring a witch climbing a flight stairs, there's also about a koala and her kids, and another Japanese story (I specifically remember the protagonist being called "Ichiro nii-chan").
Aside from the stories (and maybe also poems and nursery rhymes), there's this, I think, a green book in the series that is actually a collection of parenting Q&A by child psychologists (I remember this specific question about a parent worried about her daughter's habit of humping a couch which is how my dear innocent 6-year-old self learned that masturbation is a thing).
So there you go, I've actually been trying to search for this book series for quite some time now, but the image link above is a much needed breakthrough that now I hope I could find it at last.
Thanks in advance everyone!
I am starting a masters program this fall, and I always take notes, its like my brain can only retain things if I am writing them down somewhere. So I am looking for relatively cheap, but decent quality hardbound ruled preferably spiral notebooks. I don't like lose sheets and file folders, so that option is out. Anyone have any suggestions for this?
TIA!
I still remember how beautifully profound these stories were, especially during my childhood. Sadly I have lost the book in the cabinet of time- and come here hoping someone could help. :)
1st story-. Riki tiki tavi (pretty well known and self explanatory)
2nd story- A teenage lost his mother, resulting im his father moving on and marrying another woman. The step mother was very kind and genuine to the boy and his younger brother. The elder brother being emotional broken and attached to his biological mother, couldn't move on and started hating the step mother. One day, after an argument over a movie ticket, the step mother, distraught and broken goes out for a drive in her white maruti. The boy, also goes out for a walk. Soon, the boy witnesses an accident site, the onlookers blocked his vision, so he could see clearly what was going on, on asking one of the onlookers, he found out that a white maruti had met with a brutal accident. The boy, clearly concerned, scared and stunned, ran back to his house, tears running down his face and thousands of thoughts bombarding his mind. He rushes to his house, opens the door, only to see his step mother, eyes red, face flushed with tears, on the phone, enquiring about him from the local police. They hug each other and the story ends.
3rd story: A young boy's parents were always on negative terms with each other, quarrelling and arguing with each other all the time. The boy would see all of it and would mostly resort to silence. One day, not being able to take all this, the boy shouts at his parents and runs out of the house and into the streets. Finally tired and broken, he sits on the side of the street. he was met with a hand on his shoulder, it was his father, he had ran all the way to him. His father told him how their relationship wasn't always this toxic, and this only happened after his mother had to leave her job after getting married. The father promised that this would never happen again. On the way back, they bought kulfi for his mother.
Basically, I'm looking to start a new volume of my comix journal and I'd like to draw my entries with Pentel and Tombow brush pens, although I'm having trouble figuring out which hardbound sketchbooks have thick enough paper. The last brand that I used was Premiere by Nicole, and as far as I could tell, the paper could withstand the ink from both brands without bleeding. The problem is that I can no longer find this specific brand in the right dimensions (8.5"x11"). I've checked Amazon and found a few brands that could potentially suffice in terms of paper thickness (Art Alternatives with 75 lb. sheets, Canson ONE Art Book Paper Pad with 68 lb. paper, Pro Art Hard-Bound, etc.), but some of the reviews are conflicting (i.e., some say that the paper is thick enough for ink and others say that ink tends to bleed through).
With all of this in mind, I was hoping for some input from you guys. I know it probably seems fastidious that I'm so dead-set on using a hard-bound sketchbook, but I tend to carry my sketchbooks around in a knapsack and the binding on a spiral-bound might be damaged by that (plus, I feel like a hard-bound is better suited to my purposes since the pages can't be ripped out as easily). Thanks in advance.
I've been using a bullet journal for a long time now, but on and off. I actually used a planner back then. Recently, I switched to dedicated bullet journaling and I'm about to buy my third one.
I've noticed that most people prefer to use hardcover, pen holder+ book closured+ bookmark notebooks, and I've been using those too, but where I live I can access only the expensive, 150/200-page ones. I've been thinking of buying a spiral book (cheaper, 300 pages, made for school/college work) but I can't make up my mind!
My question, for the more experienced: Would it be smart to get a spiral-bound book? Are there any problems that come up with it? Is the traditional bujo notebook better? Which do you use?
National Geographic hardbound magazines Vol 1 thru 18 (1888 thru 1907) reprints. What might they be worth? My grandfather had these plus many more years of actual magazines, and collected them for ages! https://imgur.com/gallery/rc1oVk3
I'm a beginner doodler and I never had any hardbound sketchbooks. I've never really experienced many sketchbooks, so sorry if this is a bad question. I've looked into online stores and they say that their sketchbooks "lay flat" on tables. Is this really true or do they put up some resistance? Also, are they worth it? I'm still in school and I want to know if I should get a spiral or hardbound.
Iβve wanted to find a very specific type of hardbound notebook. I essentially want a notebook that looks and feels like a published hardbound novel. Itβs just been a thing Iβve always liked and wanted to use for my writing solely for aesthetic reasons. Iβve only ever found a couple like what I wanted in the past, but I either canβt find them anymore or theyβre way to heavily branded or covered in extremely young girl stylization like ponies and flowers and some variation of βmy private diaryβ or something like that which takes completely away from the more bland βprofessionalβ aesthetic Iβm after. Would love some recommendations if anyone knows anything that might fit what Iβm after! <3
Dear /r/notebooks,
I'm looking for a unicorn and I could use your help. I love the Red n' Black hardbound notebooks but I really prefer the paper quality in the Apica C.D. Notebook. I write almost entirely with fountain pens, and I've yet to find that works as well as the Apica C.D. notebook A4 sized. I just don't like the softback.
I've tried all the usuals, Rhodia, Leuchtturm1917, Midori Traveler, Clairefontaine, but I really just wish I could combine the Black n' Red with the paper of Apica C.D. in lined A4 size with 192+ pages. Any suggestions?
Thanks so much!
Trying to collect all the hardbound copies. Seems that they jumped from Part 3 Vol 10 to Part 4 Vol 1. Any details on this?
After years of journaling, I finally admitted to myself that I dislike writing in bound books. These were purchased two years ago, and sadly are sitting on my shelf, carefully preserved in the original wrappers.
Each one was handmade by Wolfie's Binder and is 144 pages of cream, 7mm-lined, fountain-pen-friendly paper. They have a thin satin bookmark and are about A5 size--8.5x6". I am selling these for $20 each, plus shipping.
Here are pictures of each book:

So I always have my reload on first person shooters bound to 5 on my mouse. However, when available, Ravenfield overwrites the reload command and swaps weapons, despite me changing the weapon 5 keybind to something else. How can I prevent this?
So I got a bit excited with setting up my new campaign and made a whole sourcebook for each of my players.
http://imgur.com/gallery/XIQZl0N
Details the world, the government, the individual islands, the pantheon and goes into depth about the capital island where the majority of this campaign will be set.
Then it lists the playable races and how they fit in the world.
And finally it has character sheets in the middle and then loads of room for notes.
We had session 0 where i gave these out, and now each player is doing a short one shot set somewhere from this book to help flesh out the world and create interesting stories that are canon when we start proper. Can't wait.
This is a problem for me because I use wheel-click for melee, and I often accidentally trigger weapon switch when I spam melee. I can disable wheel-scroll through external software but then I won't be able to scroll though menus. Please give us an option to disable weapon switching through wheel-scroll.
Hello all,
I usually use Rhodia notebooks, but my favorite paper has long been Tomoe River. I'm looking for a hard bound notebook (preferably around A5) with Tomoe River. If I could get everything I wanted, it would be dot-gridded, but not sure if anyone is doing that. Does anyone have any idea where I might find something like that?

Anybody have experience with the bond travel gear a5 notebook? Its tomoe river 68 gsm 296 numbered pages dot grid. Wanting to start the bullet journal thing and I use fountain pen daily. It seems to be pretty unknown but it has good paper and numbered pages with an ok price point for what it is. Just wanted to know if anyone has had first hand experience yet. Could only find a few short reviews online.

Hey gang, I've been trying to fill out my collection of hardbound editions, the ones with the primarily pastel covers and the 3 stamp photos like this one that were printed in the mid-to-late 90's as opposed to the current hardbounds which, for some reason, are way smaller in size and text. I haven't been able to find a reliable collection of them in good condition on ebay or amazon. Does anyone know of a bookstore with an online shop that has them in good shape?
Hello all! This is my first time posting here. After I saw the new 2019 LIFEPLANNER launch for hardbound planners, I was disappointed. I am really not a fan of the hardbound covers for next year. I was just going to ask if anybody knows if they typically will launch another design before January? Thanks for reading! also if anybody is a fan of other hardbound planners feel free to comment. Thanks!
I have four pages left in my current sketchbook and Iβm looking to try something better than the usual artist loft ones I get. Iβm looking for something that can take some pretty heavy inking, I donβt mind much bleed to be fair. Iβm also looking for something around larger but not much larger than 11x17. Any recommendations and links are appreciated!
Hi all! I'm looking for a hardbound planner with a weekly layout and an hourly breakdown. I'm a student, so I need space to write a to-do list for each day and a monthly spread. I'm really into the 2019 Limited Planner from Ointment Co, but it only goes from 9am-4pm, which is definitely not enough. Any suggestions would be amazing! Thanks!
I have some thicker nonfiction books and textbooks that I've taken notes in and want to keep that are paperbacks. Some of them are starting to fray, so I'd like to know if there are resources/places where you can pay to get books hardbound in quality, durable material. Is this possible? Any suggestions?
Greetings Citizens,
just a quick reminder that currently the pre order is open for the hardbound summary 'Jump Point Volume 2' of all Jump Points of 2014.
https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/Jumppointv2/Hardbound
The thing is, it only gets produced if enough people want one. So, if you didnt know about it yet or simply forgot to pre-order yours so far, now is the time. ;)
PS: The other thing is, that only 241 are left as of now, so better hurry! :p
The only story I remember from the book is about a little girl named Geraldine who is unhappy with her plain white dress so she went to the fields to gather dandelions and poppies that she can use to color her dress. I read the book when I was 6 or 7 (I'm now 22). The book is hardbound, the color is blue. I'm guessing the book's a compilation of children's stories, but I only remember Geraldine. I'm also guessing they're distributed to elementary schools because my school had it! (I tried contacting them re the books but no reply yet from them)
I've seen a few authors (bsanderson) offer this either through a website or through email. Not sure if this is a thing, but was hoping so I can read at work and not wait to be at home :)
Hello!
Does anyone know of a roughly A4/letter size notebook that's hardbound but has removable (preferably perforated) pages? I'm currently using a Staples spiralbound, but the cover is wearing out faster than I'd like.
Ideally it would be something akin to the FSS notebook or a lab notebook with perforated pages. I like the archival qualities of a hardbound book, but the 'freedom' of removable pages.
Even better if it comes in green!
They were clearancing them out for three dollars each. I didn't care for the cover, other than that I love them though. So I fixed them with my clearance Union Jack duck tape.

Now what do I do with it?
I kind of really want it.
Looking to find a good site to get hardbound copies of my book
Hello Reddit.
I have scoured the internet to find somewhere that is able to print 2 copies of my book. This has been a surprisingly frustrating task with all the options out there. It is not ready for publishing yet. I have already exhausted my local print shops as an option (non of them offer any book printing options) and my local library does not wish to divulge where they send any books to get the rebound (I thought this was odd).
Most of the issues I encounter is I need to order [insert number here] books.
Here is my criteria:
Need 2 copies of my book
Not to cost an obscene amount (I do not feel I should have to pay $100 just to get 2 books)
Hard Bound
154 black and white pages
Not ready to publish
Do not want to sign up for a plan or anything like a plan
Accepts PDF format
Size option for 8.5 by 11 (standard paper size)
I am located in the states
For what it is worth, and perhaps if this may help, it is a table top RPG. I have also sent an email to one of them to clarify some of the options they give, but I have not heard a response back and with the amount of time passed, I donβt expect one.
I have tried the following (not a complete list):
Staples (local) Lulu Blurp Bookbaby Diggypod Lightning-press Millcitypress Printninja Ingramspark Book1one Pixartprinting Mgxcopy
