How much does having prior Experience in Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Handball, and Rugby style games (particularly American Football) Help Prepare You For Exploring Gaelic Football? Does cross training in Gaelic Helps For all Above Sports? Is a Gaelic Ball a Jack Of All Trades training device?

As my username obviously shows I'm big into Basketball. But I'm also big into soccer, I been playing volleyball this summer, I follow different types of Rugby class games (not just the original and American Football but Aussie Rules and more), and I played handball a few times and just ordered a ball for more practise.

Would prior experience in all these sports help me out when I start trying Gaelic Football? Will crosstraining in Gaelic Football help out for all the aforementioned sports?

In addition is a Gaelic Football basically a jack of all trades training device? Like you can practise the general basic barebones techniques from all these listed sports using the Gaelic ball? Obviously Gaelic's ball won't be optimized for more rigorous specialized training and techniques of Association Football and Volleyball and so forte.

But seeing clips on Youtube of hwo many barebones techniques from all the above sports are used in Gaelic Football (albeit often in modified forms for the sports rules like no direct American football style tackles but a modified form of the Rugby tackle and you can't slap the ball to score in the style of volleyball), it makes me wonder if the Gaelic Ball is the all general Jack of Trades training device I been searching for years? So I don't have to keep looking in the storage rooms for different balls when I just want to practise multiple barebones techniques like dribble with hands and then juggle the ball and back to hand dribbling and then to foot juggling for loops and run withh the ball holding it to suddenly drop it to kick it and so on. So is Gaelic balls the closest thing to this general all round training approach?

Soccer "football" is the most overrated sport in human history.

I don't get how people find soccer so entertaining. It's just a bunch of whiny drama queens struggling to score for 90 min. There's only so long you can watch them pass the ball back and forth, flop because the player stubbed their toe on the grass, and try the same failed corner kick shot for the 20th time before you want to rip your hair out from boredom. It has some of the dumbest rules in sports, for example the offsides rule. God forbid you have an exciting break away play because that's just too exciting apparently. Ive got to give credit that soccer has some of the most passionate fans in the world but even then becoming super violent and rioting over your favorite club losing 1 game is just ridiculous.

[Zach Lowe] on KD "Probably the second best player in the NBA. The most fittable malleable superstar in the history of the sport"

He then goes onto to say he wouldn't trade Brown+Smart and picks for KD and even no to Brown+White and picks

He's always had a soft spot for KD like the rest of the media for some reason but this makes no sense. Calling him top 2 is crazy after getting swept in the playoffs.

He agrees that Giannis is the best player in the world so he thinks KD is still better then Steph.

Hypotethically if Boston was offered Brown for Curry that would be a no brainer yes. But if Zach thinks KD is still top 2 then why would he say no to the trade or Boston

Used Steph because they're at the same ages (34 and Kd will turn 34 soon) and they both have 4 years left. I know KD does have a way higher injury history which would be a fair argument but he's also taller and shortish guards don't age as well

His time at Williams was the heights of their success with many championships, and then while at McLaren his cars were very competitive (apart from that one year), and obviously at RB he’s won 5 championships between Vettel and Verstappen.

13-9 is the most heartbreaking loss in sports history and can’t be topped

I’m excited to have the Brawl back tonight. With it in the spotlight, I wanted to offer this hot take.

Because of the vastly unique circumstances of 13-9, I don’t think that loss can ever be topped from a heartbreak perspective in any team sport scenario.

  • A team 1 win away from reaching the national title

  • That same team has never won it all, and has fairly average history of success otherwise.

  • All that’s stopping the team from reaching the championship is a win over a major rival who is terrible

  • The team ultimately loses to their rival, who was a 4 touchdown underdog.

That would be like Duke losing to UNC in the final four if UNC was like a 14 seed. But even that’s not accurate, because at that point hypothetical 14 seed UNC would be on a hot Cinderella run and everyone would be taking them seriously.

When will a scenario like 13-9 happen again? There’s no other situation in sports that I can think of where you can be 1 win over a fairly awful team away from reaching a championship game. And to make it worse for WVU, that fairly awful team happened to be our bitter rival. And there is no realistic indication we’ll ever get back to contending for a title.

Can any sports heartbreak top that?

(Beat Pitt!)
