Just curious if anyone else has issues with the Hampton village rink. A few times now I've been there and had someone come up to me and ask to check my ID to verify I live in the Hamptons. Happened twice in the winter and once in the summer (I use the rink to practice lacrosse I. The summer) I refused to let them see it and just skated away. But she continued to yell at me and my nephew about how the rink is for people in the area. I told her I do live there which is true just a couple blocks away but it's none of her business what house is mine. I've been to other rinks and never been asked to verify my address. Has anyone else had issues with this anywhere else or is this just a Hampton issue. Really I think no matter where you live the rinks are for everyone.

Meanwhile, a somber-looking Hilaria was seen making a solo outing in the Hamptons this weekend - her first public sighting since it was revealed that husband Alec is quarantining away from her and their five kids amid concerns about COVID-19.

It has been a rocky few weeks for the 36-year-old Boston-born yoga guru, who has been staying in the family's Hamptons home since the end of December - when she became embroiled in a serious scandal over allegations that she has been faking her Spanish heritage.

Hilaria - whose real name is Hillary Hayward-Thomas - was seen driving around the upmarket neighborhood by herself in a large black SUV, wearing a face mask around her chin and a large pair of headphones over her ears.

At one point she put on a large set of Beats headphones as her matching protective face mask was worn down on her chin.

We're a military family looking to relocate to Hampton. I will surely visit in person but what advice would you give prior to me visiting? I have an opportunity to turn this down if its not ideal. I'm looking for details on the following: Schools Best areas to live (for families) im a bit interested in the Buckroe Beach area Crime im from a big city so I understand crime is everywhere BUT with a family, im looking for the less "eventful" areas lol Best advice for the housing market there? We're considering buying.

True, Morgan enjoyed all the benefits of southern elites born in 1914 Alabama. Armed with a top tier education, she worked at a local book store. She was fired for writing letters in the paper critical of the treatment suffered by blacks that she witnessed riding city busses. She was ahead of her time, and more than a decade before Rosa Parks would refuse to sit in the back. The bus drivers would taunt and ridicule her, and leave her standing on the street.

She took a job as a librarian. When she did eventually write in support of the Montgomery Bus Boycott 16 years later, the mayor of Montgomery demanded the library fire her. To their credit they refused, but made her promise she would stop writing. She was early and often the only white public supporter of civil rights in the city. It made her no friends, and no shortage of enemies.

When she did eventually find an ally in the editor of the The Tuscaloosa News, he asked her permission to publish their correspondence, and she relented. When the library again refused to fire her, the mayor cut off their funding. She never would be fired. She would resign to save the library the burden of having to be associated with her. She had the audacity to join a mixed-race women's Bible study, and all this was simply too much.

She was estranged from her family. She was threatened. They broke her windows and burned a cross in her yard.

Overwhelmed, she ate a bottle of sleeping pills and slept forever. Her mother found her body and a note that read simply "I am not going to cause any more trouble to anybody."

Martin Luther King Jr. would remember her writing:

Here's a quick list of the top tips and most frequently repeated advice about moving to the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area:

• Live on the same side of the water as you work. Our many bridges, tunnels and bridge-tunnels frequently experience heavy traffic volume and become chokepoints even on days without incidents or accidents. Commuting from the Southside (Norfolk/Virginia Beach) to the Peninsula (Hampton, Newport News, Williamsburg) and vice versa is not recommended. Additionally, many water crossings are now or will eventually be tolled. Get an EZ-Pass to pay the lowest rate.

• This area floods. Look at FEMA flood maps for the area you want to move to and be aware of possibly needing flood insurance. Similarly, our area occasionally experiences hurricanes. Know your Evacuation Zone and learn more about Hurricane Preparations.

• Hampton Roads has a lot to offer. Obviously there is the beach. But there is also a surprisingly good and growing food & craft beer scene. A great many museums and activities. And an easy drive to the mountains and other major cities. Career wise the medical center is growing year over year, and is only expected to continue expanding into a major hub for the region. Norfolk offers a slightly more urban feel, with lots of great food joints and cultural amenities, all while being walking and bike friendly. Virginia Beach is more suburban in feel, and has a large amount of great neighborhoods at a decent price not too far from the beach. Chesapeake is even more suburban, but more affordable.
