My school held a contest where four people were tasked to drink a slushee as fast as they could. I was notified I'd be participating and started to look into what causes brain freeze. (I'd seen the contest in previous years and knew brain freeze was the primary road block to winning)
I read that cold things coming in contact with the roof of your mouth causes brain freeze so I bought some gum (not mint) and before I went on I stuck it on the roof of my mouth.
I lost coming in second but was the only competitor to not get brain freeze. It worked like a charm.
My friends said I got lucky so I proudly told them what I did to avoid brain freeze. They said I cheated and lied to everyone. They started spreading it around school that I was a cheater. There were no rules for the contest so I don't think what I did was wrong, I was just creative. Why tell us in advance if they don't expect us to come prepared?
4.5 years ago, my best friend and I made this post on r/nootropics about a gum we had been working on, and to our surprise, we had an incredible amount of feedback and encouragement. Although we had ZERO business experience (I painted murals and worked in music and Ryan worked in data at Hulu), that support from Reddit helped us fund our Indiegogo, and we had to figure out how to business really quickly. Thankfully, our advisors, r/Entrepreneur, and our more business savvy friends helped us through all the mistakes we made along the way, and here we are now, running a cashflow positive functional gum and mint company with a small but amazing twelve person team.
Since it all started, we've been in Forbes 30 Under 30, TIME, Buzzfeed, Dr. Oz, Fast Com... keep reading on reddit ➡
Not that long ago we learned that Verizon and Virgin Media members are getting free stuff and I really don't get how it's a bad thing. It's nothing that big it's just skins that people wouldn't use often plus say u are a member cool u get these neat skins. The game also made a deal with 5 gum where if u buy a pack u get in game stuff and I really don't get how that's bad either. Both of these is just advertising for the game, Verizon, virgin Media, and 5 gum. This isn't the first time it's happened in plenty of other games, or other forms of media.
Just curious if anyone's seen real results from gum
I am a male but this happened in my stake. Looking back, it was so fucked up.
The YW presidency bought a cheap wedding dress even though it didn't look cheap, at least to me when I glanced it for a few seconds. What the hell do I know. I know it was used or damaged because I found out they spent $100 on it. It looked like a $1000 dress to me, again, what do I know.
During the lesson on chastity the wedding dress sat there as a reminder of what you striving for. The leaders, towards the end, starting listing all the wrong things you shouldn't do. They started coloring the dress with permanent markers to symbolize impure thoughts, immodest dress, passionate kissing. And finally they, started to cut the dress with scissors and knives when talking about giving up your virginity.
So the stake spent $100 to shame the girls into thinking that any sexual imperfection would destroy their chance at finding love and getting married. What a fucking nightmare. It blindsighted the girls, I talked... keep reading on reddit ➡
Did anyone else notice when Kendra was in labor that her mom was dead ass chomping her gum like a starved cow?
I mean, in general I find gum chewing to be participating gross and classless but what kind of person gets the call late at night that their daughter is going to the hospital to have a baby and says to themselves "but first I must have my gum"?
But wait, there's more! She was fucking BLOWING on Kendra! Wait, WHY!? JUST WHY!? If she's hot, fan her like a normal human being.
It’s not like it’s a hard challenge to do, but really you guys need to baseline stuff and not magically make it 3 times harder to get the same reward the next day for no reason.
Basically I’m pretty young but my gums are receding and I have sensitivity on the sides of my teeth where the root(?) is exposed. Every time I go to the dentist they tell me my teeth are nice and clean... they told me to stop brushing so hard so I switched to a extra gentle brush head and I brush VERY GENTLY. But the receding gums still seem to be worsening and I’m getting very upset because I know gums don’t ever grow back. Any advice is greatly appreciated :(
images here (sorry in advance for gross mouth pics)
Edit: so I went to the same dentist for a few years and I last saw him in October 2019 and he said nice teeth, looking clean, some gum recession just brush gentler and floss more, nothing to worry about etc. Then went a NEW dentist in June 2020 and he seemed more concerned about the gums and sat me down and taught me how to brush in circular motions and explained to me gum recession and how gums don’t grow back etc. But I feel like they’re getti... keep reading on reddit ➡
Update: He has been coming back everyday now, he stays here most of the time. I've been feeding him wet food and giving him water. I'm planning to take him to the vet as soon as it's possible, for this I've started a fundraiser campaign to help me with the expenses. I'll share this fundraiser on another sub if you'd like to donate.
• Cat of unknown age and breed, male, un-neutered, visibly underweight.
• This stray cat has been coming by to eat and rest at our house. He is visibly underweight and has many scars. Most of his wounds seem old and are healed, but there's something going on with his mouth. The first time he came by a couple months ago we noticed he couldn't close his mouth fully and there was some inflammation happening, we had already given him food when we saw that and he seemed to be able to eat it normally, so we thought maybe he had eaten a bee or something like that and was having an allergic reaction. He didn't come for a while but a few days ago he started showing... keep reading on reddit ➡
I know. Racking up a fat line, railing it, and rubbing the residue on your gums feels fucking amazing. When I first started doing cocaine regularly, I discovered the act of gumming and the pleasant numbing of the mouth. Combined with not being able to feel your face and being stimmed out of your head, it’s the icing on top of the cake. But please be careful.
I got addicted to cocaine and meth when I was around 17 years old and did 1g+ a day for around 2-3 years. I was constantly snorting lines, and constantly gumming it. Fast forward to now (I’m 1 and a half years clean) and my entire top and bottom rows of teeth has developed holes on the front, back, and bottom. Quitting cocaine was tough on its own, but the irreparable damage that gumming (and bad oral hygeine) did to my gums and teeth is already done. My front teeth have been semi-fixed after about $8000 in dental work, but that’s just from fixing the worst and most visible cavities. To fully repair my mouth I’m looking at about $... keep reading on reddit ➡
