Now I’m sure the people with sharp eyesight on this subreddit will know I’ve posted this before, however I’ve added my reasoning for reposting it today towards the bottom.

For me the reason it’s stock is so low is due to it being oversold as a result of its large debt load. However on taking a look at the company a bit closer they have shut in volumes and are not spending any money, rather paying down debt.

Around a month ago they published financial update and 2021 guidance. This included:

“Credit Facility Borrowing Base Redetermined to $215 Million” “2021 Capital of $130-150 Million, Production of 28,000-30,000 BOPD, Cash Flow1 of $150-170 Million” “Resumption of Development Drilling at Acordionero Oil Field”

This was their message to shareholders:

Our teams’ excellent work throughout 2020 has strongly positioned the Company for the resumption of prudent growth in 2021. We would also like to thank our bank lending syndicate for their ongoing support during these volatile times.

Our forecast 2021 capital budget is a balanced, returns-focused program which prioritizes free cash flow4 generation over the rate of development, exploration and production growth. With a keen focus of further strengthening our balance sheet, we plan to direct free cash flow to further debt reduction in 2021.

We see material upside in our exploration portfolio located in highly prospective geological trends in Colombia and Ecuador. For 2021, we have budgeted a measured 5% of our capital program to ongoing exploration-related activities, mostly directed at our large landholdings in the Putumayo Basin of Colombia and Oriente Basin of Ecuador.

I have a GTE $1 call and now since GTE is above $1. What should be my next steps? Should I sell the call or Exercise it or wait? I am new to options trading and any help will be appreciated. Thanks

For those who have never heard of Gran Tierra energy - Gran Tierra Energy Inc. together with its subsidiaries (“Gran Tierra”) is a company focused on oil and gas exploration and production in Colombia and Ecuador.

The first focus is therefore: ''What are oil prices doing and what will they do in the near future?''. Oil have been bullish for quite a while now and with the expectations of global populations recovering from covid-19, oil will likely to continue to rally as demand is being pushed. At the same time Saudi-Arabia agreed to cut oil productions for 2021 and the U.S.A, with Biden, will likely cut production as well. Oil, therefore, has a very strong and positive outlook for 2021 and 2022.

When we look at the prices of BRENT OIL now, has been trading well above $60. The last time Brent traded at this price level, GTE was trading well above $1.20.

When we take a closer look at Gran Tierra Energy, we see that they're sitting on potentially billions worth of oil in Colombia and Ecuador. The main concern, is their large debt of over 700m USD. During 2020, GTE has worked on a re-organization and they have managed to become more cost-effective. On the 21st of January, they released an operational update where they also released financial forecasts and information regarding their reserves. A positive takeaway is that they will put significant effort into debt reduction. Their forecasts are positive based on a base price of oil where BRENT = $49.50 (well below the current market value).

GTE CEO Gary Guidry explained during the ER conference that debt reduction started in Q4 already and that GTE is very comfortable under current market circumstances while they sit on reserves. They have upscaled production and expect to upscale production up to 30,000 barrels per day.

GTE last traded at $0.80, which is approximately 33% down from its recent high and is just below the 21EMA on the daily timeframe. Volumes have been declining with an increase in stock value from it's recent low of $0.69. The current set up looks very decent for a next leg up.

Additionally, it's interesting to see that insiders have bought shares up to $1.06 and that the CEO, among others, recently purchased nearly 400,000 shares at $0.86.

Overall, it may not be a stock that will rise 2000% but it's a penny stock at a relatively low risk that could provide a very nice ROI even before summer. It's worthwhile to watch GTE closely as we creep closer towards the end of Q1.

GTE makes money from oil. Simple? Simple.

1. GTE Current price of $1.10 ->

GTE price held at 2.20 into late 2017 (and rose up to 3.80 in ‘18) ->

Brent Crude Oil price in late 2017? $60 -> Today? $60

2. Mgmt GUIDES (remember that mgmt guidance is always soft so they beat it in earnings releases) to funds from operations of ~$210 million, predicated on oil price of $58 (SOFTER than today’s price of $60).

What was GTE funds from operations in 2017? You guessed it: ~$210.

This is a business that lives and dies by cash flow. On the debt side - they have decently priced senior notes that don’t come due til 2025. They are printing money with incredible flexibility.

3. We can all agree that clean energy is key, and the hype has been UNREAL. ICLN, TAN...even energy ETFs are up 130% in the past year. Think that hype is done? Maybe. Will the markets wake up and remember that there are 7 billion humans on this planet and Tesla didn’t even produce half a million cars this year? That’s just cars!!! So many other industries rely on oil that are so so far from having any meaningful clean energy input (battery technologies simply are not there yet)

I got caught bagholding TXMD @ 1.72 and GTE at .9something. What do you guys suggest? Should I take my Ls or hold?

How do 90s gt1 cars compare to modern gte cars ?

Sup guys. Newish here, lurker who posts and frequents other investing subs. Current ape holder of 5 GME @ 88. My question for you folks is this; of the following 3 what do you think has the highest “sure thing” chance to make gains on a good chunk of change? I have my tax return coming and the stimulus, plus got a new job this year and I’m doing well with money. Started investing last year, hit pretty big with BNGO and have just been taking some short gains here and there.

So my question is this; if tomorrow I wanted to put a “yolo” type investment into one of these three stocks: GTE / SNDL / ONTX which one do you folk think is the “safest”? I’ve read most of the DD that’s been posted here and pennystocks on both and feel comfortable investing in all 3 but if I wanna play a one big payoff gamble which would you hedge your bets on? I am inclined to wait on this one a little longer than the usual 24 hours because I like the growth it has experienced and even in red days it still climbs up steadily. I wanted to see how y’all were feeling about this stock. Any opinions out there?

Hello everybody!

A couple days ago I created a post here saying that I‘ve been racing open wheelers and wanted to try GT cars. Since then I’ve been practicing a lot on the 488 GT3. I’m getting used to it and it’s been pretty fun.

I am also very much curious about GTEs as they seem like a lot of fun with the added downforce and all, so I was like “what are the options in terms of series for GTE?“. And boy, was I disappointed...

Is it just me or the GTEs is missing some sort of “sprint” series? I mean, if you want to get into GTEs you either have to go into multiclass (which is not my cup of tea right now) or the A class endurance (I’m also not crazy about long races atm), or did I miss something?

if you look into GT3 there are so many cool options, I feel so disappointed that GTE is so limited.

Let me know if I missed something (which honestly I feel like I did).
