I think Gavin was right few episodes ago where he said he is going to get rid of all these shows that no one watches. WTF is LOTUS anyways?
When we got the multiple 'impetus' enchantment cards back in Ikoria, I loved the idea of them. But I really haven't seen them in action. I've seen when it's attached to creatures like [[Agitator Ant]] and seen that result in some fun games. I'm working on a [[Illuna, Apex of Wishes]] deck, and wondering how you all would say your playgroups react to things like [[Shiny Impetus]] and the near identical older vow cards like [[Vow of Wildness]] and [[Vow of Flight]].
What do you even consider the role of these effects to be in a deck? [[Shiny Impetus]] has the utility of making a treasure of each turn, but generally these effects just seem to accelerate the game, maybe turn some bigger threats away from us or make an opponent's creature vulnerable by forcing it into combat. The effect reads as mischievous fun, but do opponents regularly perceive this as playing their creatures? Is this a viable political/control subtheme or does this generally backfire and make the user a target?
Beginning MTG player here. A very simple question, but just want to clarify this point. If a player's creature is 'goaded', they are only forced to attack on each of THEIR own turns during combat, not on every other player's combat phases as well - is that correct?
Was playing a game recently where another player made the case that because it says "each combat if able" and does not clarify "WHO'S" combat, then this means that they must somehow attack even on other people's attack phases. This did not even seem possible, but wanted to seek understanding in case I was in the wrong in understanding this rule.
Just to be clear, the unpopular opinion is that it's NEVER appropriate.
RE "that brown belt was just a dick" - in his mind, HE was the one righteously putting people in line. He's the exception. There are still way too many people like him. If we just use words (pretend for a second we had the capacity for communicating and reasoning), we wouldn't have to suffer that.
A lot of the posts below are saying "it's fine under conditions xyz". What I'm saying is it's not.
There was this travesty of a topic today.
Am I the only one who thinks this is beyond cowardly? If you wanna fuck somebody up, at least give them a fucking heads up. Or start a fight in the parking lot like everyone else.
Often the guy getting fucked up doesn't even know why he's being mandhandled, and so there's no link between his behavior and the "punishment" he's receiving.
If the behavior being "punished" is poor, any inkling that the enforcer is biased/unfair just casts doubt on the judgement ("well the guy said I should stop being a spaz but he's also a fucking psycho").
People need to stop doing this and learn how to use words.
People who are on the receiving end need to realise it's okay to STOP the ROUND when it's with someone who's clearly willing to hurt you if they can justify it in their mind.
Keen to get everyone's thoughts / have my mind changed.
I could've sworn I saw the AI swarm to reconquer territory on a map I did yesterday, but now I'm leaving a load of lightly defended tiles and they don't seem to be taking the bait, so maybe I imagined it....
It's so weird, had people going "you must hate China right? " or "Man it sucks how mainlanders ruined the reputation of Chinese people" once they found out i'm Chinese. It's so obvious they want to sow discord or fuel their belief that Asians hate each other. Because i'm a Chinese diaspora, they want me to validate their hatred for mainlanders so they wouldn't feel racist for hating on "Chinese people from China". "See, other Chinese hate mainlanders too!! I'm definitely not racist!" Too bad I usually disappoint them though.
I'm trying to put together a deck-list built around [[Kardur, Doomscourge]] and I'm looking for some feedback. The idea of the deck is to goad my opponents into attacking and killing each other for me so I don't have to, and then when it gets down to 1v1 finishing my opponent off when they have low life.
I've tried to put in the must-haves of Ramp/Draw/Removal along with goad cards and sac-outlets to combine with bounce cards to keep bringing Kardur back without having to pay commander tax.
I've play-tested it a few times and it seems alright but just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or has any sleeper cards that they use in their own decks that would work.
Here is my decklist.
Any help is much appreciated. Trying to keep it relatively budget, so please no suggestions of super expensive cards.
Ok, so I decided to build a mono-red [[Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs]] deck revolving around making my opponents attack each other while protecting myself with Kazuul's threat and other pillow fort cards. If I get to the 2x2 I can end the game with some flashy finishers.
So for this I followed the Command Zone's template with 12 Ramp 10 Card Draw 9 Removal/ Interaction Cards and 3 Board Wipes. I'm going for a safe number of 37 lands as well.
For the rest of the cards, I have about 10 that revolve arround goading and making opponents attack me or each other, including [[Avatar of Slaughter]] [[Fumiko the Lowblood ]] [[Warmonger Hellkite]] and much more.
About 10 are Pillow Fort cards and cards that make my opponents attack each other. Examples include [[Slumbering Dragon]] [[Crown of Doom]] [[Aether Membrane]] and, of course, Kazuul himself
The other cards are big threats and finishers, so I have a [[Godo, Bandit Warlord]] package with [[Tatsumasa, the Dragon's Fang]] and also [[Colossus of Akros]] and [[Insurrection]] for examle.

I had a couple of smooth games in Cockatrice for now and wanted to tune it up a little (Keeping the Budget) before buying it on paper. Any thoughts are appreciated. :D
EDH. My opponentβs [[geode rager]] goads another player then passes turn. Geode rager is then destroyed via [[meteor golem]] before the main combat phase. Does this negate the goad effect or does goad persist since it was already triggered?
t my friend has asd and they are staying at my house for the weekend . What should i do so they dont have sensory overload.
