A friend of mine lived in a pretty big neighborhood with a pretty strict HOA. He was the first house at the bottom of the hill that you saw when you drive in. He asked and was allowed to add a garage on to his house and did so, siding it with cedar planks. It looked great. His HOA disagreed and told him the by laws state all exposed walls must be painted. He tried to appeal but was shot down unanimously. So he checked the by laws further and found that while it was stated that all exposed walls must be painted, there was absolutely no mention of any color restrictions.
By the time he was done each plank was a different primary color and there was nothing they could do about it. They were furious with him and he laughed his ass off.
Edit: this blew up. I didn't think it was all that interesting, just a story of a guy I used to know. To answer a few questions/comments:
This was back in the early 90s. The HOA was created years after the neighborhood had been established. Maybe they ass... keep reading on reddit ➡
Last week our car went into the garage (England) to have some repairs to the engine under warranty. Yesterday we were called and told to come pick it up. When we arrived they couldn't find the car and were looking for over an hour before finally admitting that they've given it to another customer as a courtesy car.
I am obviously furious and have been given no indication of when we will be getting it back, it wasn't even clear if they knew who they'd given it to. I am wondering what my next steps should be with regards to raising a complaint and looking at seeking compensation and/or covering myself for any problems such as scratches etc that may come up when I get it back (planning for worst case scenario)?
Any advice on how to proceed with this would be much appreciated as I cannot imagine this is legal?
Firstly, thanks for all the advice.
Secondly just to clarify a few things. I already have a courtesy car so that's taken care of (though now I'm wondering if so... keep reading on reddit ➡
Motivated by COVID I've slowly pieced together a decent home gym set up in my garage. I am in Southwestern Ontario with pretty mean winters and I'd really like to take some actions that would allow me to comfortably use my set up throughout the entire year.
It's a 1.5 car garage. The walls are dry-walled and I have no idea if there is insulation behind them. I poked my head in the attic above the garage to find there is no insulation in the roof at all, leading me to believe the walls are without insulation as well. The large garage door doesn't look to have any kind of spectacular R value. There is also an entry door in the rear that is made from wood that doesn't have a good fit. Lots of leaves and debris get through it so I know the seal is piss-poor.
With all that in mind, what would be the best bang for my buck in terms of winterizing this garage? Is it easier to just buy a good heater that will keep me warm while I'm working out and not worry about insulating? I'd ap... keep reading on reddit ➡

The wind in your hair, arms, body. But fuck doing that more than a block of two. The immense fear of falling, even dead stop and hitting myself without any gear absolutely terrified me. I cannot wrap my head around riding at 30mph+ without any gear like all of these other people do, especially on the highway.
Like many people, I’ve always found myself trying to buy cars that are well-rounded. I want some speed, some comfort, some utility, etc... but that always comes with compromises in the driving experience. I always find myself yearning to own that vehicle that is totally focused on driving and nothing else- the one that goes fast, looks great, and puts a smile on my face.
As the title says, let’s suppose you’ve been given $50k to spend on any vehicle of your choice. You plan to keep it forever. This will not be your main commuter, but your fun car, your garage queen, the one you love to take out on the weekend. You can buy new or used. You can buy cheap and spend the rest on modifications, too. What do you choose and why?

"I've just been issued with a £100 parking fine for breastfeeding in my own car. I explained the situation to the parking company, MET Parking Services, in an appeal. They have just rejected it. I was at a BP petrol station at the time, where I also bought petrol! Grounds for the fine: I overstayed by 18 mins. Breastfeeding takes the time it takes. BP, do you not support your customers to breastfeed? If not, aren't you in contravention of the Equality Act 2010, which states that woman can't be discriminated against for breastfeeding?"
Any thoughts on this? I know people that have needed to breastfeed in petrol stations as they're the only valid place to park on a main road.
I just got my Character Reset. The only glitch I used was the garage glitch, and I made about 350 mill with it. So to others who glitched about the same or more, watch out.

We live next to a large open grass field. There is an old house on the property but it's condemned and no one lives there. The owner of the property only shows up to mow the field but does nothing else with the property. The garage beside the house is caving in on itself and just looks like trash. People walk through the field to go fish on the river, walk their dogs, or just wander. Most people think it's just city public property.
A few days ago we were outside playing with our dog and toddler. They were walking a few feet off our driveway which is technically his property. He just happened to be driving by and pulled over and began yelling and was just in general overly aggressive. He yelled that we need to stay on our own property. He accused us of tossing cigarette buds(we don't smoke) and beer cans(we're never drinking outside)all over the field. He also yelled that we drive all over his field causing mud puddles. Again completely not true. He then pointed to our dog and compl... keep reading on reddit ➡
I purchased a house before we were married, both of our names are on the deed (this was my realtors doing, not mine as I put the down payment down myself and solely hold the mortgage).
He started a business (a brewery) in the garage and then 1.5 years later told me he wanted a divorce. We got a dissolution. I told him I wanted to keep my house and we needed to talk about a lease and rent for his business.
My offer was: “$375 a month, plus you pay your portion of the utilities. If covid shuts down the bar, then you wouldn’t have to pay rent.”
He told me this- “I want a 5 year lease for $0/month in exchange for me signing my rights away on the house. We will calculate and pay for the water we use and give you $20 a month for the gas bill. I also want right to first refusal on the sale of the house within the term of the lease”.
They use my internet, electric, water and gas and plus he would be on my property 3+ days a week for 5 years. I’ve also been paying the entire water bill... keep reading on reddit ➡

We're told when the couple arrived, security told them no women were allowed in the studio. The GF left, and that's when things allegedly went south. > > Our sources say the man went into the garage at the studio and that's when he claims YoungBoy and his crew pounced on him, put a bag over his head and proceeded to beat the crap out of him ... allegedly kicking and punching him before pistol-whipping him. > > According to our sources, the guy said he caught a glimpse of YoungBoy when the bag was removed. I am planning to build my own, and was curious what those who have built heirs would give for info, recommendations, etc. I plan to go for a floor-plan of 32x28 with taller walls for 4 post vehicle lifts. Thanks for any info or insight!
Me and the wife were clearing out a kitchen cupboard - the paperwork one and found the deeds for the house, decided to have a look through and found deeds for a separate garage, they are at the bottom of the street and we've always said we wouldn't mind having one! We moved in 5 years ago.
Had a chat with the neighbour as he owns one of the garages and he just looked looked at me like I was an idiot and said "Yeah it's the one with the brown door next to mine"
When we viewed the property we said we were excited to have a garden as we'd lived in a flat before and never had a garden, the guy kindly said he would leave us the lawnmower in the garage, but since we were in the garden I just assumed he meant the shed
I dug out the ice cream tub full of keys that was left for us and headed down to the garages, not even kidding the second key I tried (out of about 30) opened the padlock, inside was the lawnmower and a few other gardening tools he had kindly left for us
Guess I'll be spend... keep reading on reddit ➡
So it’s everyone’s favorite time already - the post-glitch apocalypse.
People have started to get reset / wiped already, and of course, the sub is getting flooded with posts using the “Patched” flair, telling us all about how they got reset.
If you’ve glitched over 100M or something, then you should probably get ready for the reset :D
Under this post, please post your stories and pictures of you being reset, instead of posting it in the sub - thanks guys.
