Before I begin I want to explain why I believe this is unpopular: pop and rap music are so much more popular than metal just by looking at monthly listeners on Spotify. Pop artists and rappers can have up to 50 million monthly listeners meanwhile the biggest metal band in history has 16 million (which is still a lot obviously but in defense of my point, they hardly ever feature screaming in their music)

Ok with that out of the way, every time I see people hating on rock and metal, about 99% of people’s complaints are “they’re just screaming, it takes no talent, anyone can do it” which is just plain false. People who can do that shit with their voice are extremely talented, and the people who can do that at a live concert for up to like 2 hours straight are even more talented. It takes talent, skill, practice, and technique to do it properly and many vocalists have to work their asses off for YEARS to learn to do it well enough to be in a band.

I dare you right now to try to scream like they do in metal. Do either a really high deathcore scream or a really low death metal growl. Yeah sure you can try but I’d be willing to be all my money if you just tried for the first time, it sounds nothing like it does in the music.

There’s a video on YouTube where a guy goes in public and asks a bunch of random people to “give him their best metal scream”. About 95% of people can’t do it. But when someone CAN do it, he then asks them how long they’ve been doing vocals, and the answer is always the same. Years. Many years.

TL:DR it seems to be a common conception that metal screaming doesn’t take talent however in reality it takes talent, skill, practice, and technique to do properly.

I have a bachelors in economics. I’ve learned more about the market and trading it n a few months from these users than I have from four years of college. Do you guys really expect them to be right 100% of the time? Is anyone? These guys who post high level DD are fucking experts. I was reading 2 articles in Wall Street journal and it made my blood boil- first article was saying “random penny stock went up 30% with no news or announcement”- the people that are paid to predict and report and are the expert at stock market are saying this shit. The second article right after made me want to fuck the writers wife: “GME and AMC, Reddit favorite stocks, plunged after apparent loss in interest from retail investors” LOSS IN INTEREST? MOTHERFUCKER WE CAN ONLY BUY 5 FUCKING SHARES EACH.

WE LIKE THE STOCK. THOSE FUCKS JUST DON’T LET US BUY IT. How is GameStop and AMC and BB not already suing robinhood? Is any stock expert really gonna act like had they not restricted in Thursday, it would have went down that much?

What the fuck is this gaslighting? That last week didn’t happen? Why are every news channel acting like they called GME or BB or AMC falling like it happened organically and not deliberately by everyone involved?

Is GME worth 400$? FUCK NO. But since when was the stock market about actual worth? Stocks have become fiat currency in themself, doesn’t matter than company quarterly earnings, or its news, if people buy it, it goes up. When you restrict that- it goes down.

We were up against billions of fund, trading platforms that we do not own or have a say in, our weapons, controlled by the enemy. Those fucks in TV acting like they actually called GME falling like this or acting like this is perfectly normal are trying to gaslight us about what happened in Thursday.

FUCK THEM. We still got GME to go up and caused international fevor- we made the right call, we had the right stock, we had the right people, our enemies just had control of the only weapon we could use.

A big pet peeve is when I’m on vacation with my family or girlfriends family and everyone wants to stop every 5 minutes to take some fuck ass picture in front of something that looks cool. Why can’t we just enjoy it for what it is and cherish that memory in idk?! OUR MEMORY?!

It’s also such a waste. My grandmother has probably a TON of photos and i mean that in weight. They just sit in a box collecting dust.

I also hate portraying a fake smile when I’m having a mediocre time. Yes I’m having a good time but i’m not ecstatic and jumping in joy about it.

Hopefully I don’t sound like a party pooper but it is genuinely annoying.

You see it all over the internet these days, people recording themselves giving food or money or whatever to homeless people. All it is for these people is a personal boost, a way to get views on the internet and make themselves feel important. I think these actions should be shot down not praised and receive 10 million video views. If you’re really this good person you claim to be you would give to the homeless, give to shelters, help people and not tell anyone else about it, it’s that simple.

Edit: I don’t think people should stop giving to the homeless all together, just stop recording it, in my eyes it’s just another thing that proves how shitty people are, instead of giving because they care about their fellow human they’re giving strictly for the image

My friend has made some questionable choices in her dating life. She has this fantasy that she can change them.. fortunately, I've never had to meet them so I never really gave it a second thought. I mean I've tried to advice her to stay away from them but she never listened to me. I always excused her choices because she is constantly around people with similar beliefs (family, family friends etc) and she has a lot of problems with her mental health.

I have to admit that I have a soft spot for vulnerable people.. It makes it easier for me to forgive them and stand up for them when things go south. But I have my limits as well. I asked him to explain himself and his response made me so angry. M talked as if my friend is some kind of ¨rapist¨ like he can't control himself around other men. Like he would force the first person he sees when he leaves the house to have sex with him. It was infuriating but I didn't yell at him. I literally asked him questions. ¨You've never meet him so why would you say that?¨ ¨Why do you feel this way?¨ and I kept pushing him to give me some answers. If you're gonna sit there and insult my friend then I want some kind of explanation.

His face just got more and more red. I also kinda came out ¨I like girls. I can only assume that you don't trust me around your girlfriend now, do you?¨ ¨do you have to leave the house now? Obviously, you can't be around these awful homosexuals¨.. I was in the closet. There are a lot of homophobic people in my city so the plan was to first leave this place but I was so angry..

I might have raised my voice too because my friend started to defend him. At this point people were just getting involved, telling M to talk and telling me to shut up so I left the room for a brief moment. I try to calm down but when I came back he tried to come up with excuses. But it was pretty obvious that he was just trying to save face. To all of you who are out there who’ve ever thought “oh man, if I’d only bought X stock X years ago I’d be rich!” - if you aren’t holding right now, you’re wrong.

I’m an actual investor, not a swing/day trader (I know, gay) and I went all in on TSLA back in 2019, so I had days where my account would lose 20% of its value. Weeks where it would lose half. I didn’t sell a share as it went from $960 to $330 pre-split. Nor the $460-$300 drop post-split. These are just a few examples.

I bought GME because in a worst case scenario some crazy illegal shit happens and I now have a long term position in a solid company. I covered my cost basis in tranches on the way up and now I’m holding the remaining 300 shares with house money. If it’s too late for you to do that, take it as a lesson for next time. What was Melvin’s mistake? No actual hedging. Don’t be a Melvin. .

A good investment requires holding 9/10 times. The overnight million dollar plays are very rare, because they take a higher ratio of luck than confidence. This shit is a lot like dating - your confidence won’t help if you’re making shitty picks, but your good picks will never pan out without confidence. $GME has my confidence- the numbers are in our favor. And so, I hold. And I sleep like a baby at night. I have 300 shares, and I’ve lost a nauseating amount of money the past two days.
