No not the mushy love story staring Michael Keaton but the heavy metal laden low budget gore fest about a homicidal snowman.
The effects are just good enough, the one liners are great and it’ll jam Christmas cheer straight up your ass.
It’s currently streaming on Amazon Prime (in the US) so if you’ve never seen it do yourself a favor and check it out. There’s definitely worse ways to spend 89 minutes this holiday season!
At least acknowledge that you know it's underperforming and fundamentally broken. You messed up. You nerfed frost mage in the beta but instead of slightly turning the knob, you slapped on nerf after nerf after nerf. It isn't fair that people who wanted to play this spec invested so much time in torghast to get enough soul ash to play this spec. Not everyone wants to go night fae and play fire. No self respecting person wants to hold their guild back.
It's terrible in both PVE and PVP. Huge red flag.
Venthyr Frost mages
It wont go off while you run, but if you hold left-click, and mash attack, you will blinkstrike like chainhook. Hold your attack if you want to attack in place. It gives strike skills a much needed quality of life. You can still use leap slam as well, for even more speed.
Frost blades was my first favorite build, i used to do it from breach to abyss, beastiary, legion, all the way to 3.8 blight, but i always hit a rock at t16 bossing due to having to invest like 100ex probably, which i can invest and make a 10 times better build and end up doing one sadly so it just stick as my starter. Now since 3.9 i've played other builds and on 3.12 and events i've played a Glacial cascade miner and i fell in love with the build (first miner i've done) and will probably end up being my starter to end game along with bladefall bladeblast. Frost blades just got burried, i managed to make a Berserker frost blades in delirium league which was perma freezing everything and mowing down Sirus/Kosis like nothing, but then they decided to nerf dual wielding and there went more of frost blade's damage even while investing in +450pdps swords.
I know most people consider fb a balanced skill, but i really hope the fight for survival would be added to the gem similar like the glacial cascade jewel, that would kind of improve frost blades i guess, since we get 2 jewel spots we do not waste on tree. Also if it got buffed by like 5% more single target it would be great!
So it would appear we've got the final pass of class changes before the Mythic opens, and from what I've heard based on previous xpac history, it's unlikely more significant balance changes will happen until #next tier# of raiding. That's a LONG time.
#Looking at the logs, Frost Mage looks terrible. #
Yet all the specs below it got buffs, and some specs above it got some as well, with 0 mention of Frost Mage. Which makes me think I'm missing something here.
I thought maybe it has some crazy scaling that will kick in a week or two from now (I'm too new to figure out these things myself, I've never played a mage before Shadowlands). So I went over to the Alter Time discord to snoop around and see what the old timers say about it.
They were all just as baffled. And the general consensus seems to be, if today (Tuesday) the final-final version of the fixes doesn't address Frost Mage, anyone giving a rat's ass about performing well, should switch to Fire (who is upper middle of the pack, btw, not a top contender. 8 classes have a spec performing better than Fire currently).
I've also found quite demotivating parses over there:
A Frost Mage, doing everything they can, will still get beat by green-parsing MM Hunters and Affliction Warlocks in the same gear.
#And I hear people say "well someone has to be on the bottom".# Sure. But there's a difference between being 1% worse and 10% worse. And having the worst spec in the game currently while also having the best one outperformed by 8 other classes also feels pretty lame, ngl.
Now, I did consider the fact that it's cause Frost Mages perform well in M+ (though probably going to get pulverized by Fire anyway due to uncapped AoE later on when tanks make pulls bigger than 5 which is the Glacial Fragments cap).
But since M+ is heavily based on AoE, there's a stupidly simple way to buff Frost raiding - just hard buff Frost Bolt damage and leave other things be? It would amplify Frost single target damage, where the spec is just horrid, without touching the "op" AoE for M+. Or am I missing something here?
#Why is it that Frost is ignored in the buffs? Is there some hidden scaling that will explode soon after all? What's going on?#
I certainly hope it's not something like "ye it will catch up to Fire with ful... keep reading on reddit ➡
