Hi Reddit, I’m Dr. Dan Kuebler and I’m here today to talk about order and chance in regards to biological evolution. I’ll also offer some personal reflections on whether or not order implies purpose.

Update: I am wrapping up and have to go, but thanks for all the great questions! I enjoyed answering them.
I'm a graduating college student who has been in contact with Holy Name Providence since last year to discern my vocation to the Order of Friars Minor.
I have also been in contact with the religious vocation director of the Diocese of Savannah to try to schedule a meeting with him. I also met the Franciscan priest who works at the catholic center at UGA named Fr.Frank.
How did my Franciscan brothers in Christ Jesus go about navigating the various branches that the order has?
If you add Third Order Regular into this then that's another can opened.
I've also read books related to the OFM including Francis:The Journey & The Dream by Fr.Murray Bodo, St.Francis by Robert West and Eager To Love by Richard Rhor.
I also have a Franciscan prayer book as well.
Reading Seven Storey Mountain by Merton has also been beneficial to me during this progress.
The Dominicans and the Franciscans were founded around the same time, and had a similar way of life. Yet the Dominican order remains relatively unified, while the Dominicans are survived by three large and distinct ones - OFM, Conventual and Capuchins.
