It feels like so many people my age seem to have been in one already, but I just don't feel ready yet, and the thought of it makes me feel weird and uncomfortable. I'm wondering if this is normal or at least socially acceptable.
Why YSK: People often ridicule the grammatical or other mistakes in peopleβs English to invalidate their point. Chances are they noticed it too and simply donβt care. Their point still stands stall if itβs coherent enough, anyone going out of the way to comment on their mistake is either losing the argument or are too immature to engage in one.
Itβs very common in the Indian subcontinent.
Edit: About time I made an edit to have my final say and leave. I personally love English and it's not even my mother tongue. It is, for me, the most beautiful language ever and I want to be as good at it as I can. I made this post because a lot of non-native speakers out there are ridiculed everyday for bad, incorrect English. While it is important to speak the language you're speaking as correctly as possible, for some it may not matter so much because they don't need it anywhere in their life. Also, one should always look for when is one helpfully correcting your mistakes so you may learn and appreciate them. Enough preaching. Over and out.
These motorsports aren't very technical. Drag racing and land speed racing is go in a straight line as fast as you can. It's when motorsports start to have corners in them that the required skill to compete becomes higher. At least in drifting, autocross, rally and endurance racing, there's a big skill component that plays into the sport because of all the corners involved. Heck, even NASCAR takes a lot of skill to perform well in.
In drag racing, unless your car breaks or your driver is a COMPLETE idiot, a tube chassis drag car with a billet engine block will beat an average joe with an iron block Mustang motor 95% of the time. Horsepower costs money, and a lot of it once you get into the quadruple digits. Race gas can be 10 dollars a gallon or more, and you burn a lot of fuel going fast. Top Fuel drag cars need to rebuild their engines after every run and a bad rebuild can make or break the next race the car is in.
Source >"For myself and my family, I am going to take the COVID-19 vaccine," former Los Angeles Lakers star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar said in an NBA-sanctioned PSA. "To learn more about the vaccines, go to CDC.gov. Letβs do this together."
>NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has stressed the league "wonβt jump the line in any form whatsoever" to receive the vaccine. The CDC has listed frontline workers, the elderly and those with underlying conditions as bigger priorities to receive the vaccine. It also remains unclear if the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association will make it either mandatory or voluntary for players.
>Abdul-Jabbar, 73, was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia 11 years ago. He revealed in a recent article for WebMD that he has also had prostate cancer and heart bypass surgery. Abdul-Jabbar told USA TODAY Sports last year that the treatment for leukemia is "an ongoing thing."
I was talking to some friends who don't play League about the upcoming Shyvana changes, and trying to explain how AP Shyvana plays now with her E. Thought it'd be easier to show the ability rather than trying to explain it, so I checked the client where i found this.
Wonder what other mini-reworks and such that haven't been updated in the client.

TL;DR: XL candy brings almost nothing new to the game because it's the exact same grind, just more and with a different name. The XL candy mechanic could have been so much more fun, but the opportunity is wasted because Niantic chose the easiest and laziest (although lucrative) design. Nothing "wrong", just disappointing.
Not all types of grinds are created equal; some are just more boring and less tolerable than others. Of course, this very much a personal preference. For me, brainlessly catching the same Pokemon for the 1,000th time is much less enjoyable than battling (either PvE or PvP) since the latter has more variety and more room for skill, strategy, and planning, and you get to actually use the Pokemon you invested a lot of time and resources on. I do understand that this preference is far from universal as many people just don't want to have to strategize or think when they play a mobile game. And I respect that.
But if you are like me and want to have new and fresh things to do in PoGo every once in a while, then the introduction of XL candy probably has been a disappointment. XL candy brings almost nothing new to the game because it's the exact same repetitive grind, just more, a lot more. You're basically doing the exact same grind that you've been doing for years: catching, raiding, hatching, transferring. The XL candy grind does not have any new mechanics that is separate from the grind for regular candy. In fact, there are fewer ways to get it: no XL candy from trading and walking yet, and no rare XL candy from raids, meaning that the grind is even more concentrated on just a few things you can do. The only semi-new mechanic is the correlation between XL drop rate and Pokemon level, which is better than nothing, but it is still about catching. You're just spending more time and balls and berries trying to catch more high level/weather boosted ones.
Given the way XL candy is implemented right now, they might as well just remove the whole "XL" branding altogether and just make the regular candy power up cost between lvl 40 and 50 much higher than before and it would be exactly the same as the current system except for the name.
You might be asking: "How else could they have implemented XL candy?" Here's my proposal: design different tasks/challenges for earning XL candy for each Pokemon species/evolution line. This will make the grind more interesting and require some strategy/planning and ultimately bring a stronger sense of
... keep reading on reddit β‘I wanna be the very best, like no-one ever was. To catch them was my real test, but to train them was my cause.
I passed the test, with every pokemon (including variations) now in my possession, and as for my cause I've trained each and every one to level 100.
Proof here - it's one long youtube video showing them all in boxes, the complete view in Home and then sorting by level to show they're all level 100. If you want a better quality video, or any specific pokemon/boxes, or even just to check I've not missed anything, please let me know and I'll sort it. I can also do screenshots if that'd be preferable. The pokemon aren't going anywhere!
Pretty much all these pokemon have been caught/trained/bred by me, including mythicals - Mythical pokemon I've missed or just not had the inclination to get (Meltan & Melmetal) I've got with proof of authenticity on /r/Pokemonexchange . I played through Alpha Sapphire four times in rapid succession just to get enough Deoxys!
This first started this with Sun/Moon - when trying to complete my pokedex I thought I'd stick a few useful pokemon in Poke Pelago to level up. Isle Evelup can hold up to 18 pokemon at once, so of couse I stuck 18 pokemon in there. When some had reached level 100 I swapped them out with others I'd caught who weren't, and I just never stopped doing that.
I believe I've got every form, variation etc - I've got every pokemon from Bulbapedia's list of gender differences, I've got all forms of pokemon like Rotom/Deerling/Alcremie/Vivillon, I have all sizes of Pumpkaboo and Authentic/Counterfeit Sinistea. It's possible I've missed some (I very nearly missed both Hoopa because up until recently it's Unbound form would revert in Pokemon Bank) If people are interested I can draw up a full list of what I've got to make sure I've not missed anything.
I do not have all Spinda, all Shiny pokemon or all Gigantamax forms. I feel like I've done enough, though, and if someone catches me every single spinda form I'll train them for you!
I've got a couple of older reddit posts from this at various stages - completed the SM Level 100 Living Dex and completed the Pre-SwSh non-form living dex that serve as "work in progress" videos as well.
So yeah - ask me anything you want, but I thought it was worth sharing!
Hopefully I can get at least 5 responses, even more than that is even better, heres to hoping
