I'm a bit late to the party, I know, and I've been finding the podcast really interesting and I really appreciate the focus on the legal aspects of the cases, which are fascinating. I'm just really surprised at the statement above because so far the podcast has been very thoughtful about all of the cases discussed. It's disappointing to hear someone who otherwise has been so respectful falling into the "women only have value in relation to other people" trap about these victims just because they were sex workers. They don't have any inherent value because they're mothers or daughters (or sisters or nieces). They're people, in their own right. They have value.

Am I right to be surprised? Just an unfortunate slip of the tongue? I don't want to get into another podcast, again, only to find myself cringing more and more as the host(s) say more and more unfortunate things. :(

I'm looking to start up a channel, as after looking for lefty guntubers there's a significant lack of them. I've posted in the off-topic thread here, but only got two responses so I figured I'd ask in an actual post. Right now I think the first video I post will be about gun safety, likely followed by some basic first aid in case someone is not safe with said gun. As I feel those are the two most important things to know. After that I will likely follow those up with, as one comrades puts it, the FUNdamentals. Like the basics of Marxmanship, and how to maintain firearms. I will say though, I don't own an AR-15 or a glock. I'm an AK guy who uses slavic/RusFed gear but I've been told that could be interesting content to see to get away from all the NATO-centric guns and gear content. However, I'm looking for any and all input you may have for content. I want to be a channel of stuff people actually want to see, and not just devolve into someone talking to a camera and reviewing every random bit and bobble they come across at their local gun store when they need content. I know it's kind of part and parcel of being a guntuber, is talking about new gear, but I really want to touch on stuff that I wish I had getting into guns.

This is just a documentation of some recent drama (late December 2020/early January 2021). Also, while this post is going to contain some discussion of animal abuse/animal death, I'm not sure there's enough to warrant filtering this post as Heavy. Apologies if some of the links here don't work! Still getting used to Reddit. Edited to use fake names instead of initials.)

Background:

First, I want to explain what Palomacy is. Palomacy is a pigeon and dove rescue organization that was started in an attempt to provide medical care and homes for domestic Columbiformes (pigeons and doves) such as feral Rock Doves and Ringneck Doves. Their rescue organization is based out of San Francisco, but their network spans most of the United States and they have supporters in other countries like Canada, Australia, and Britain. They stem from a parrot rescue, so the founder has always had a hand in captive avian rehabilitation. Within the pigeon rescue community (which is a thing that exists) they have been negatively discussed through word-of-mouth, with only one easily locatable post compiling some of their less noble qualities (this two-part one on Tumblr, which is extra long and unrelated to this drama--I'm only linking it to provide background information on what some pigeon rescuers and breeders think of Palomacy as a whole). Despite this negative attention, however, they were still overall regarded even (begrudgingly) by their naysayers as the best organization spreading information on the plight of modern domestic pigeons.

The Controversy:

On December 29th, an Instagram account called exposing_helluva_duv uploaded its first post, an image of a pigeon sitting in a cage which had droppings on the floor (mixed with food) with mold growing on them. They would upload several posts that day, each one detailing a troubling scene of animal neglect (to give a tame example, there was a photo of a filthy white pigeon ("Puffin") standing over a Diamond Dove, a Columbid that is much, much smaller and more delicate and should not be allowed free contact with a domestic Rock Dove the size of a Utility King Pigeon, w

You’ll see complaints like the shooting isn’t good or that the driving isn’t good or that the writing isn’t “exciting”. There’s not enough action etc.

Those complaints will come from people thinking this game is a GTA 2077 or CoD 2077. They don’t understand it’s a complex rpg that focuses on the rpg elements first. So don’t give too much attention to those negative opinions.

• Rooting for Harden: Trading Harden hurts but I'll follow his individually like I did Kobe while rooting the Rockets first and foremost. As much as his anti-mask antics and kicking the team while they were down to end his era rubbed me the wrong way and are difficult to forgive, I still cherish the happiest of memories and will miss swagger, quirkiness, unreal BBIQ, posting his endless quantities of eye-opening analytics-friendly stats, and his pervasive influence on the League (he changed the league!). I do not think there is anything wrong with cheering him it that's what floats your boat or not, if you've been waiting to move on from him. Either way, you get to choose.
• Jump-start transition: To a degree our situation is a rebuild. However, we have respectable players and tons of picks so it's not the worst caricature of the cringe rebuild that normally comes first to mind. The picks we collected are not the ones you traditionally look for in a rebuild because most are likely not lottery-bound. However, because of the trade, we're able to jump start the rebuild unlike many franchises in the past.
• Optionality: Certain picks will convey into our picks. Certain picks will be packaged into trades for other players or upgrades using our existing players. The point is there's many ways to build the team and we're not stuck in building it one way if we say acquired Ben Simmons and had to surround him with only shooting. In that case, the whole league will know that we overvalue shooting and they'll set the price accordingly. In having optionality, Stone and the front office have paths and counters to those paths to build the best roster possible with our finite resources.

I'm excited for what the future holds, especially with Stone and Silas so far, and yet sad that Harden won't be a part of the foreseeable future. It is a sad ending to a chapter with not the closure we wanted (a ring) but I'm excited to see what this team can do and I'm also excited for Harden to be unlocked offensively again with the threat from KD primarily and Kyrie also. I'll root for Harden like I did Kobe except for when they face the Rockets, under which circumstances I'll flip on him like a biatch and root for my HOUSTON ROCKETS!

This might be a bit of a tinfoil, but bear with me. It has to do with what Aaron Forsythe said around 41st minute of the stream."the game system opens some new doors for us to try new things that we want to try that have fandoms"

It has been discussed on this subreddit already, and is a know fact, that apart from the big three, TCG's die in 2 years or less due to various problems. M:tG seems to have a nice formula that has been polished and has been proven to work. Getting a new game with a separate IP to Magic, but the same rules to the market has it's issues - you need to get new players, nobody has any card collections, people start from scratch.

What I believe they could be doing, is getting these new IPs stapled to magic and legal in magic environments to get fans from this or that franchise interested in playing in the magic card system. I would hope they would split these different IPs from competitive magic as soon as these new players get hooked, and provide them with their own sets, tournaments, pro-play etc... but the skeptic in me says they won't, and Magic will become a card-fight system with magic lore existing side-by-side with all kinds of other franchises with 2 sets of Magic every year, and 2 other things, but still open to mix and match for competitive play which doesn't care about lore anyway.

Allright. So while I love that we got all that Fnatic Gear stuff. It only sells as long as Fnatic got followers and fans. You keep those around not only with success but also with keeping the people the fans love in the org.

Now we hear that G2 is engaging with Rekkles and trying to buy out Selfmade with that Perkz-money. And I just want to say, that while I hope this is all not nessesarily true, if it is, Sam can (and it hurts to say it) just leave his seat as CEO because he has failed.

We are an esports org, we are here to have success and if we dont, we at least try to change it. We got 2 players that are amongst the best in the world in their position. If we lose one or even both of them, I dont even know what we are doing here. Not even is Nisqy an hilariously bad replacement for Nemesis, if the rumors are true, we are not only weakening ourself in one position, no, in 3 at the same time. Stop pushing Gear for a bit. Ignore that Streak65 stuff and push that money in an extention for Selfmade, Hyli and first and foremost Rekkles.

You raised 10 mil last week. Invest it here and not in some new Fortnite-playes ffs. You are what you are because of league, invest in it. MY GOD.
