My daughter: “”Where am I supposed to find 10 different leaves for science class, it’s the middle of winter?!?” Me: “Hold my fertilizer...”
The gardener mumbled to himself, cursing his poor memory, as he spread fresh homemade fertilizer on his crops.

TIL if you burn hardwood, dissolve the ash in water, put the liquid in a pan and let it evaporate in the sun. Then you got a powdery substance left in the pan called potash which is a form of potassium, and this is where potassium gets it's name from 'potash - ium'. Here is my set up, for my little sweet girl, Phoebe. Every plant was researched and made sure it was tortoise safe and no fertilizer in the mulch or plants that are planted in the substrate. If y’all would like I can make a comment with a supply list and where I got them reddit.com/gallery/lanveu

That'll make some fertilizer
Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Idea: Instead of leaving fertilizer on someones bed to insult them. try leaving "handmade glue" on their pillow- see if they figure it out
Think of it as "pulling one off" on them.
I'll let myself out.
Just Coco coir, perlite, & organic berry fertilizer! Hydro strawberries lookin' good so far :)
I learned to make this liquid fertilizer from gardener&farmer. Basically the same like making normal compost, but add tap water/rice cleaning water, then put it for a few days to make it ready to use. The ratio to use it is 1:10 (1 cup liquid fertilizer +10 cup tap water), 1x per week is recommended reddit.com/gallery/l63ynn
Resorting to cannibalism is a little dark, use the bourgeoisie for fertilizer.
To the newbies: fertilizers are the MOST important things for your plants.
Too often I see people starting out ask about lights and co2, and no mention of fertilizers. Even those that are a bit more experienced seem to graze over the importance of fertilizers. If plants don't have "food," it's kind of pointless to give them light/co2 when they can't even use it. I've had tremendous success with diy fertilizers (and would highly recommend powder fertilizers, search EI dosing, pps pro, niclog ferts, use rotala butterfly calculator), low lights, and no co2. I believe a lot of failures stem from the lack of fertilization and of course too much light.
TIL the black soldier fly larva turns most organic substances into nutrient-rich protein and frass, a valuable organic fertilizer. Significant reductions in E. coli and Salmonella were measured in manure after larvae were introduced in it. They can also purify biomass contaminated with heavy metals. entomologytoday.org/2020/…
I gave you guys crops, clean water, free fertilizer and sometimes milk, and I even provided outdoor lighting, so why do some of you STILL SHOOT MY COW?? Plus a med-bay, a decontamination shower, a weight bench, bed, instruments, and vending machines with flux immediately inside where it says FLUX.
So y'know when the fertilizer looks a lil bit weird... Plantera Fanart (OC)
Can I use this cheap fertilizer for plants I'm going to eat? It has some warnings for not getting in contact or ingesting it, it's also meant for making plants more green reddit.com/gallery/l8rjao

How do you feel about the various bio fertilizer options?
Producers, crop advisors, agronomists, etc.
How do y’all feel about the options available in bio fertilizer? Do you feel like we will see a significant shift in usage of bio fertilizers in the coming next 10-15 years? What are some benefits or downsides you’ve experienced?
Any other input is appreciated.
What happens if you keep a bag of soil / fertilizer storage space?
Like if you keep a few bags from home depot for several years to a decade.
Would it go bad?
Would it ruin or mess up the other items I have in that storage space?
When I repotted this oncidium it had almost no roots after living in pure sphag (this was a new plant), so I gave it a diluted dose of seaweed fertilizer at repotting. This is what happened. ⚠️ A cautionary tale ⚠️ Note: This is the only plant that’s ever reacted this way. reddit.com/gallery/laonoh
Anyone think setting something like this up for a home homestead would be a good idea? Or would it be better to feed the food scraps directly to chickens and use their droppings for fertilizer? v.redd.it/z6w45i912ua61

Fertilizer recommendations for first year fruit trees
I planted a nectarine tree last spring, about 10 feet tall, and 3 bare root apple trees (cortland, yellow delicious, and honey crisp) in November 2019. Does anyone have any recommendations on the best fertilizer to use this spring? I live in CT if that matters. Thanks in advance!

Do herbs need fertilizer or food of any kind? Someone at work told me they never use any but that seems a bit odd to me.
I’m very new at indoor gardening. I have 50 jiffy strips with chive, thyme, greek oregano, dill, and cilantro. They are just starting to germinate, which is really exciting!
Anyways, just wondering if eventually I will need to give them some extra nutrients, or is light and water really enough? Thank you for the help!
Some crops grow slower than others despite having the same fertilizer and being planted on the same day. What’s going wrong?

PSA: For the daily "kill enemies with the heart wrencher", you can kill the brahmin at your own camp, store the "fertilizer producer", and place it back down to repeat if you don't feel like looking for weak enemies
Also, if you need a lot of milk, you can just do the same thing with every attempt at milking it.
Which AV fertilizer do you folks like?
I see so many different types out there. Which one do you all prefer? The ratios appear pretty different to me so I am a little confused about what I should get.
