There is enough money in the world to easily feed and house every single person on Earth. With all of the wealth currently being hoarded, the haves could very easily provide for the have-nots.
So why don't they? The most common answer I see is something along the lines of "handouts will make people lazy and the no one will want to work." I wholeheartedly believe that anyone who says this has never experienced poverty a day in their life. To believe that the majority of poor people would be content to scrape by on the bare minimum for the rest of their lives is absurd. The underlying message to this argument is essentially saying that the answer to poverty is for poor people to just "stop being poor."
It's as if some people think being poor is a choice. They absolve themselves of guilt by saying that poor people can stop being poor whenever they want if they just stop being lazy. Yes, they can just manifest mental health, a support system of friends and family, clean clothes, ac... keep reading on reddit ➡

Short Version: The short version is that a review of the 'strategic fails–to–deliver' data indicates that institutional insiders may have counterfeited a massive number of Gamestop shares which is why they tried to stop retail investors from buying more shares on Thursday.
There are are 71 million shares of GME that have ever been issued by the company. Institutions have reported to the SEC via 13F filings that they own more than 102,000,000 shares (including the 13% of GME stock is owned by Ryan Cohen). That is already 30,000,000 shares more than even exist.
On top of the shares reportedly owned by institutions, retail investors may currently hold 50+ million shares (counting both long holdings and call options – both ITM and OTM).
Once you include call options, retail investors may already hold more than 100% of GME (not just 100% of the float, more than 100% of the actual company). This would be definitive proof of illegal activity at... keep reading on reddit ➡
A few years ago, I saw a post on Reddit that completely changed my life. It was a story about a woman completing her degree while working full-time and praising her boyfriend for everything he was doing to make that process easier for her: cooking, cleaning, writing words of encouragement on her mirror, putting together little celebrations for each accomplishment she had, etc.
I read that post over and over again... do great guys like this really exist? Didn’t seem real. I was completing my degree then and living with an abusive man who made every day absolutely miserable. I’ve seen nothing but examples of women settling for terrible men my whole life. From my mom’s relationship with my dad, then her even worse relationship with my step-dad, to the few guys I dated before living with that abusive man... they were all terrible. Cheating, name-calling, physical abuse - I was under the impression that that was just part of the package of being with someone. I remember the first time my... keep reading on reddit ➡
Let me preface this by saying that I understand that "Destiny isn't a PvP game". It's primarily PvE, and the PvE side has been relatively strong since Beyond Light (with the exception of Wrathborn hunts). But the fact remains that there are still thousands of players who play PvP casually or exclusively, at any given time 10% of players are in Crucible and this number goes up when Iron Banner or Trials of Osiris are active. And those players deserve some love, as much as the other players of this game, because although Crucible's an F2P activity many of those players have purchased the expansions and seasons, and for the simple reason that players who play a self-described "core activity" shouldn't be neglected entirely. Same goes for that last one with Gambit.
We went an entire expansion launch without a new map for either PvP or gambit. There were even three new/D1 reprised PvP maps that launched in Shadowkeep, a smaller expansion. And this is the third season running of no new PvP... keep reading on reddit ➡
So let's say I gather a large army and I invade Poland. I sign a peace treaty with the other countries and they say they'll let me keep Poland with the promise that I won't advance further. Lot's of countries have my back, including China, Russia and France. But other countries like The United States of America and England disagree.
I then decide to change the name of Poland to "The United States of America" this name obviously already exists, but I insist. I make it formal and all, and I even use the USA flag. I do not consider USA as part of USA. USA is its own country.
The countries that have my back agree to call my country "The United States of America" out of spite against actual The United States of America some leaders and people in power even think its funny and they approve of my decision.
Is this possible? Are names of countries copyrighted or something? Ill refuse to change the name. That will USA do in a situation like this? Will they risk starting a world war over a n... keep reading on reddit ➡
I wasn’t educated on this beforehand so I decided to do a quick google search.
“Despite many expeditions, no physical proof of Noah's Ark has been found. Many of the supposed findings and methods are regarded as pseudoscience and pseudoarchaeology by geologists and archaeologists”
Yep. No words. Who’s going to tell the christians this is not evidence?
And I’m pretty sure evangelical christians are nut cases.
and everything around you kinda just works somehow and nobody questions it?
cool who wants my award
The rebate is in the super early stages of congress. It would still need to pass the house, get called for a vote in the senate, get 60 votes, or get put in with budget reconciliation and get 51 votes. Thats best case scenario, I don't really believe it's a priority if congress or this administration, and considering the only place I've seen anything about it is on this subreddit, or other Tesla enthusiast sites, let's stop acting like it's going to happen.
Edit - Got a PM from the faker titled; "Do you know what it feels like to log on and have half a dozen ppl calling you crazy?"
I tried to reassure him it's all good but he's distraught. Said some things that made me feel guilty and I might delete this thread if he asks me to. I guess the damage is done though. Nice job dicks who harassed him, he seems like a nice enough guy.
Said to keep it up but he wants nothing to do with TEFG anymore.
The Evil Farming Game is an old computer game that involves a farm, hiding the murder of your wife from police, and other vague creepy details.
It was first mentioned online 4 years ago in a sub for finding video games; https://www.reddit.com/r/tipofmyjoystick/comments/4h5w1w/this_game_was_kind_of_like_harvest_moon
This got some attention for some reason, and people began to hunt. People were communicating with OP, mentioning games they find which are similar to either have them confirmed or ruled out. Nobody can find it. A couple... keep reading on reddit ➡
I am sorry if this is at all confusing, there is a lot of details and I'm trying my hardest to make it make sense.
I recently found out that my friend (M), has a best friend (C) who likely isn't real, and has created a fake boyfriend (J), going as far as creating fake facebook profiles for "him" and his "family" to interact with her own posts, texting herself to fake text conversations, sending herself gifts from "him", and buying herself a ring and saying she is engaged to him.
M has always told little lies, a lot of little lies that started to not add up, and all of our friends have noticed, but no one has ever said anything because they were stupid, didn't harm herself or anyone else, and frankly didn't matter at all.
Recently, about a month ago, M told us she started dating J, who is allegedly her friends (C) room mate. C and J supposedly live in South Korea. We live in America. C has been M's friend for years now, since I have known her, which has been over 2 years. I've notic... keep reading on reddit ➡
There is nothing that could beat the experience of going to Blockbuster. Watching movies just isn’t as exciting without the trip to the local movie store, arguing about which movie to rent and buying your pre-movie snacks at the checkout counter. It was so satisfying to finally settle for the perfect movie rental after browsing all of the isles. Bring back movie rental stores.
Every month, for a few days, I get suuper depressed and hungry. I have cravings. I get acne. The whole deal. And every time I CANNOT figure it out. And I just spiral into, "Why do I feel so bad? Is this life from now on?"
And then I finally get my period and I'm overjoyed. Every. Month. I forget.
I remember this platformer and it was really exciting and refreshing to play a Mario game that wasnt focused on Mario. I dont ever know if it sold well enough to have been a big success or even warrant a sequel but its absolutely among my top 5 favorite games on the DS.
This is my very first silver and first awards on reddit. Thank you very much kind strangers. I hope you have some well deserved fun today.
Just wondering how people would feel after seeing all the "it's only 100,000 people" comments online over the past 24 hours. No judgement and not wanting to start political arguments, just genuinely want to see people's points of view.
Teaching students, to “say No to drugs” makes them want it even more. Telling an individual at the age of adolescence to not do something, or to not take something, makes them want to try it more. I, personally, believe that we should also educate them on the right amount to take as part of the information they should receive. When young adults try new drugs, for the experience, they don’t know how much to take. You can educate them on how bad the drug is and why you shouldn’t take it, but at the end of the day if they’re still convinced to try it, they will. So it is much better to inform them on how much they should take from each drug; or to put it in better context, how much one’s body can handle before it becomes severe. An example could be ketamine, if you take too much ketamine you can experience a K-hole, which is basically taking a high dose of ketamine that your awareness of the world around you and your control over your own body becomes so profoundly impaired that you’re te... keep reading on reddit ➡
