In Division 2, duplicates cosmetics from caches turn into their in-game currency (I forget what it’s called), so getting dupes doesn’t feel bad. Bungie should adopt this method.
Front page Edit: Thanks for getting this to the front page!
Edit: Thanks for my first award!
Edit: Thanks for the hugz, u/magiclight98!
Edit: Guardians, seriously, thank you so much for the positivity!
They must have seriously nerfed the rates of exotic ornaments as I used to get one maybe every 4-5 eververse engrams but now I’ve opened maybe 30-40 of them so far and nothing but crap.
I really thought the Deep Stone Crypt would tie into this storyline but it didn't. Wasn't her plan to make him into an Exo? Is anything important happening regarding this?
And it’s not like it’s a specific price of gear, it’s 50/50 between two
When looking at the focusing, it takes 3 charges for a medium focus and 5 charges for the max. Atm, it's a horrendous grind since it takes about 15-20 mins depending on how good your team is to complete one battle ground. That's about a 75 minute grind for one 5 focus charge umbral. And to make it worse it's not even a guarantee for the weapon you want, let alone the roll you want.
I see people say "Wait for the upgrades" so reading them, the only ones that improve this grind are the "Get 2 charges at the cost of more gold" and "Get a chance at an extra charge upon completion". So alright, let's look at that. Say you do have both upgrades and you get lucky with that extra chance, you'll get 3 charges per run. So that's still a 2 runs for a 5 charge umbral. Which is about a 30~ mins for a single umbral engram that isn't even guaranteed the weapon you want. Yikes.
You get more rewards doing a Legend Nightfall in less time. That shouldn't be the case. Especially when it's just a seasonal reward system. It's not like it's for adept weapons or an exotic or some super op Weapon. Literally just how the prismatic recaster works. There's always grinds in destiny, that's fine. But this just goes beyond a grind. It's just a recipe for activity burnout and hate
When I go to the Tower and can’t claim rewards because my umbrals are full, I just delete them because I’m too lazy to go to the HELM. I don’t really run battlegrounds because they’re too long and I already have good rolls on Chosen weapons so I never have hammer charges anyway. Why go to the HELM just to get another Last Dance sidearm? Just let me decrypt charge-less umbrals at the tower plz
As of now, they only drop playlist armor (with crappy rolls) and world drops, all 20 power levels under what you are, so it’s basically just another fountain of legendary shards.
Making it weighted towards getting a Frozen Orbit/Stars in Shadow/The Keening from shaxx or a Bottom Dollar/Trinary System/Crowd Pleaser from Drifter would also help alleviate the rng on the weapons since they each have like 12 options in both columns 3 and 4. The same could probably be done with Zavala and vanguard token packages, with them weighted towards Xenoclast/Third Axiom/Royal Entry.
I would grind crucible and gambit even more, especially for wins, if I knew I could get more chances at rolls on these weapons directly from the vendors. Especially with weapon expiration dates, a system like this seems like a no brainer.
Edit: a lot more people are seeing this than I thought would be here, so I’ll go ahead and suggest that weapons with perk pools as big as these would be the perfect opportunity for Bungie to bring back weekly random vendor rolls on weapons. It’d be sick as hell to watch people coming together over the god roll bottom dollar that drifter might be selling one week like it was d1.
SGA : Get "Two" Eververse Engrams Every 3 Season pass level When you hit pass SP Lvl 100.
I was wondering why i was getting a lot of Eververse engram all of a sudden I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it's intended so here I'm just sharing.
Let me know if this is intended, thanks.
--- Edit 2 :I have a friend that recently reached SP lv 100 and claimed his Eververse engram reward at SP Lv 97 and instead of getting 2 engrams per 3 SP levels after hitting a 100... he's been getting 2 eververse engrams at every 5 SP Levels i.e 105,110,115 cuz he probably claimed the 97 SP reward.
"Theory : Do not claim the Eververse Engram at Season pass Level 97."
--- Edit 1:
Okay for those who are frequently asking how I reached season pass level 100, It's Bounty season prepping on all characters that get can get you up to SP lv 26-28 at the start of the season, When doing activities make sure to pick up bounties including repeatable ones, Having a lot of planetary materials to trade in for glimmer to get those repeatable bounties and just do Shared wisdom whenever you have a bounties up.
I think this would incentivize much more casual play in the playlist as well and help keep the numbers up.
And even if you lose, you might still get loot.
The H.E.L.M. Is pretty much a perfect location, almost mirroring the tower minus the vendors, and of course a cryptarch.
I don’t mind going the tower for my daily bounties, sometimes I don’t even do that because of the app. But what can be annoying is having to fly to the helm, and then to the tower because I have a prime engram.
The farm is gone, so where is Tyra Karn? Wouldn’t it just make sense to add her in the helm so we can have the convenience of decrypting both versions of engrams in one convenient location? We already have a post master and a vault so I don’t see why not. Plus it would make sense too since Master Ragdrool can’t be relocated into the HELM.
Basically the title... But this would REALLY give us a reason to replay old Dungeons. Example triumphs would be..
- Complete Shattered Throne with all Arc Subclass, Void, Solar, then all the same class etc like Raids.
- Find 9/9 amount of hidden dead ghosts in Dungeons (add new lore or hide some collections for us to collect) - Gives us a reason to explore
- Get X amount of kills with X weapon (afterwards, you gain the ability to FOCUS that related DUNGEON Specific loot by Umbral Engrams)
The list goes on.. but for Seasonal Gliding, things would include
- Complete all 3 Dungeons Solo OR Flawless with a team for the current season (if you really want gliding to be a sweaty thing then Solo Flawless)
- Complete all 3 Dungeons while wearing a full set of the current Seasonal Gear (means you actually played that current season)
- Complete Dungeon Challenges for the Season
Again, the list goes on. These are just ideas. What do you all think?
Like seriously today I opened 2 eververse engrams and got a duplicate emote from both. I’m pretty sure this is a glitch because before you couldn’t even get the same emote more than once. This needs to be fixed so I don’t spend hours leveling just to get the same stuff.
i've opened like 30 in the last 2 weeks and i've gotten maybe 5-6 new things. it's super fucking annoying to open a bright engram and see a blue projection and a shader i've had for 3 expansions pop out
Firstly, like most, I'm thoroughly enjoying Year 4 of Destiny. In fact, barring some hiccoughs with Season of the Worthy, everything including Dawn and onwards has been an absolute blast for me.
And I was on board with sunsetting. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it's gone, but I understood the intention. Now that it is gone, I have a much greater inclination to hunt for true god rolls on my weapons. Prior to this, over the past year, it's largely been "Meh, this is good enough until it expires." Now it's "This is 4/5 a perfect roll... I'll hold on to it until I get my 5/5 perfect roll." My play time this season is higher than it's been in a year, largely because of this. You brought back reprised weapons from the Moon and the Dreaming City, and those factor into my time. I'm still hunting for my Auto-Loading Holster + Chain Reaction Sleepless! And I don't mind doing it, because I have multiple chances across my three Guardians.
To top it off, you introduced great new weapons this season, both from the seasonal content and the ritual play lists, with some amazing perks and interactions. They look and feel great. You added to this by giving players like me one of my favourite things: multiple perk choices on the same weapon. I love this idea. It's like a mini ritual weapon, just slightly less tailored.
...And then you gated it. In a dumb way. By limiting me to three Tier 3 Focused engrams per week. Per account. Not even character.
Cabal gold and Hammer charges require me to engage with the game in a few different ways (with a variety of options), and I like that! I like that I can earn by any ritual playlist or even raids. I like that I have slot choices for my hammer to customize my loot chances and efficiency. I also enjoy battlegrounds, they're hectic and busy and entertaining.
But you're hamstringing my desire to play them past Tuesday, when I've burned my three focused engrams and recharge my hammers to wait for next week.
So I implore you: lift the cap. Make it per character, or a cumulative ten, or better yet no cap at all! Give me more opportunities to hunt for those god rolls you've breathed new life into. I'm loving the game, but some artificial caps like this are a bit of a bummer. This isn't raid content, it's not pinnacle gear that lets me power grind, it just lets me farm and fish for beautiful weapons that I want to use to smite the enemies of humanity for years to come.
P.S. If completing all the hammer upgrades lifts this cap, I... keep reading on reddit ➡
I was doing the legend LS, which is Bunker at 1300 PL today. I didn’t have any of the new exotic chests, so I was hoping to pick it up on all of my characters.
When I got to my Hunter, he had like 8 or 9 umbral engrams (they still kinda do drop frequently), and in the course of doing the LS, I eventually ended up having 10 in my inventory - full.
At the end of my third run (I had gotten the chest on my third run on my other two characters, so I was expecting it at the end of the third on my Hunter), I got an exotic engram. I figured that since I had a full engram inventory, it didn’t decrypt immediately and I knew it was gonna be in my postmaster.
So I go to the HELM to decrypt some umbrals to make space, and as expected, the exotic engram was in my postmaster.
I was afraid that maybe, because I wasn’t inside the LS, I was gonna end up with a random exotic I already owned.
But when I picked it up from the postmaster, it decrypted into the exotic arms that are available in the 1330 master LS. I hadn’t yet gotten them in my collection, so there was no way it would decrypt from a regular exotic engram, as far as I know.
I figure that the game knows that it’s an exotic engram from a LS, but it doesn’t distinguish from legend or master. So when you decrypt it, you have a chance of it decrypting into the exotic from the other LS.
I did go back to the Bunker to try and get the chest, and I got it on my second run. It decrypted immediately cause my engram inventory was no longer full.
Really just the title. Having to load back and forth between the tower and the H.E.L.M is starting to feel tedious.
Edit: We already have everything there (Vault, postmaster... etc). Why not add this?
Why is the helm not a fast travel point?
I don’t care if they add another cryptarch to helm, but I’m sick of flying to both location after couple of strikes, gambit etc
Wrathborn hunts were bad. Really bad. They were boring, tedious, and repetitive, especially compared to battlegrounds, which are fun, but can also be tedious and repetitive after you do a few in a row to get hammer charges. However, wrathborn hunts were way more rewarding for focus farming seasonal gear than the umbral focusing system is this season, and that's just really sad.
First of all, if a hunt was available with the particular weapon or armour piece you wanted, it was guaranteed at the end of the hunt. There was none of the 50% chance of one weapon or 50% chance of another shenanigans going on. It only cost a single charge as well. Ehroar already made a video explaining how its just not worth focusing an engram higher than the tier 1 weapon engram because 3 attempts at a tier 1 focused weapon engram gives you the same probability to get the specific weapon you need as spending 3 charges on a tier 2 engram, or 5 charges on a tier 3 engram. While the tier 3 gives 2 perk options in the fourth slot which kind of justifies the extra charges, there's just no sensible reason to spend 3 charges on a tier 2 engram when the probability of the weapon you want is the same as opening 3 tier 1 engrams for the same charge cost.
Speaking of charge costs, with wrathborn hunts, you could weed out unwanted weapon perks, focus masterworks and armour stats all for the same charge cost because you focused them using lure mods which would drop with activity completions, and Crow would always have some for sale if you're short on some lure mutations. They always cost 1 lure charge regardless of how many focusing mutations you plugged into the lure. With hammer charges, there's no way to focus weapon perks, and there's no way to focus onto a specific armour piece with a higher chance of having high rolls in a particular stats. If a lure was dropping arms and you wanted a higher chance for it to drop with high intellect, you could do it, all for 1 charge and 1 lure mutation. With hammer charges, it costs 5 to focus into a specific stat, and you're not even guaranteed a specific armour piece, and you can only focus tier 3 umbrals like 2 or 3 times a week. While you can focus into a specific armour piece for 3 charges, you can't also focus it with a higher chance at a higher roll in a particular stat.
As for levelling incentives, after you hit 1300, there's no levelling incentive to focusing engrams. My gear level without artifact level boost is at 1305, and I can'... keep reading on reddit ➡
It's quite frustrating to have 1300 Engrams focus and decrypt to 1297 gear, when you're sitting at 1300+ light. They should be focusing\encrypting on-level at least.
EDIT: I thought it might be tied to your equipped items PL vs your actual PL vs your PL+Artifact level. Sort of. 1300 Focused to 1297, shows as 1297, decrypts to 1299!?
SO ... I'm at a loss.
From what I saw on the main Reddit the Bears have 24 hours to trade Kyle Fuller. Apparently he only has only a 9mm if traded.
Could we trade Engram and a 7th?
Then sign Golladay?
Then draft O-line / D-Line in the draft?
Fuller would give us a pretty well rounded secondary!
Basically the title, nothing else to say here.
We could do it in the season of arrivals why not now too. Its annoying having to open discord and ask a friend every time I can't remember what's inside an engram.
Getting the same legendary sparrow and ghost back to back is tiresome and not rewarding. Also if you already have an item that can be pulled from the equipment tab, you should get bright dust for it.
Please stop being stingy with loot bungie.
It feels so impersonal now, and it may be because I'm just a fan of the drifter's character but I miss it.
Yeah I know, Kittle obviously didn´t deserve the Pro-Bowl, he missed half the season. But is still insane to see how superior the top TE in the league are to the ones that are considered above-average. Still, congrats to Evan Engram on making the Pro-Bowl.
I know they aren't putting out as much stuff for the world loot table as before, but the fact that we're still HEAVILY getting season of the worthy rewards is a bit ridiculous. This gear is going to be sunset after this season (with arrivals being sunset at the end of next season too which combine to be almost all of the world loot) but we're still getting tons of these drops none the less. In the 11/19/2020 TWAB they talked about how they know it doesn't feel good to get soon to be sunset gear and that's when they added in arrivals gear and removed the season of the dawn stuff from the pool. They also talked about how it was a short term solution while they worked on a long term plan. With the new season we're back to where we were last season in regards to getting expiring loot with seemingly no end in sight. Stinkies came back this season and have been a nice addition. There's a lot of cool new weapons to chase and focusing them is easy enough. Unfortunately if you aren't looking to get a new weapon or armor piece then it's just going to give you another seventh seraph officers revolver or carbine etc., just like seemingly every other non-seasonal reward. There's a lot of different ways they can address this and tons of weapon sets/armor sets they can choose from (please stop with the mimetic armor set) to potentially phase back in but something should be done. This season IMO has been extremely solid with lots of new weapons to chase in playlists, trials, and the seasonal event but world loot turning into blue drops 2.0 is not a great feeling.
Season Of The Hunt Bright Engrams:
Now all the salty players are once again complaining about Bungie reusing content, even thought this is completely reworked and didn't require any less work than making a new engram type...
(Sorry for the name, it is supposed to be: Bungie made A mistake by calling them Umbral engrams)
There is no worse feeling than grinding out 6 levels worth of bounties just to get a Y1 ship and a shader you already have. Engram focusing was one of the best loot systems this game has had to date and I feel like it would translate really well to Eververse engrams.
Also give us like 10 BD per season pass level past 100 or something idk
Better half drew some Engrams
Was looking for a nice wallpaper for D2 on WallPaper Engine and didnt find any I liked so here is some OC.
It is on WallPaper Engine with some subtle animated stars and smoke effects. Can post link if wanted.
They are more closer to being like altered element from Season of Arrivals than hammer charges and I don't have to switch playlists to get seasonal loot.
Or at least make the tier 2 focusing options only cost 1 hammer charge at most. While the battlegrounds activity is fun for sure, they don't offer enough variety for me to do it 3 times in a row for only a 50/50 shot at the weapon I want and then have to deal with the rng for the perks I want.
The beauty of season of Arrivals' umbral system was that you could get a 1000 altered element easily in 3 hours or less iirc from the vaulted planet bounties then focus 10 engrams in a row for the weapon you want. If you still didn't get it, no problem. You still had tons of altered element left and umbrals dropped like crazy so it wasn't long until you could try again and by the end of that season I had all the rolls I wanted.
I have to run activities to get gold then run 3 battlegrounds to get charges and when I focus the one engram I have because my last three powerful/pinnacle drops were exactly the same slot, it drops below my power level?
Leveling is extremely frustrating, Bungo. I will be happy when seasonal levels drop to only 10 and I can actually try to farm for rolls instead of slots.
