My son is in fifth grade and he is attending online school. I catch him all the time with his computer muted and playing a video game β I do what I can but ultimately this is the teacherβs fault. My son has ADHD and anxiety so he needs constant stimuli in order to stay focused, and this teacher is clearly not engaging enough.
The teacher, in my opinion, is not old enough to be trusted with the responsibility of teaching. She looks like sheβs in her 20s. I have reached out to her multiple times and sheβs only told me to check in on him, keep him on track, etc. but I do all of that and he still seems to be failing. She asked if I would like to take time out of my schedule to come up with a plan, to which I responded she should be doing her job and coming up with a plan on her own. I am quite out of patience with this teacher.
Last night I sent yet another email to her drawing attention to the issue. This morning, I had a very rude response from her which read:

Big peeve of mine that I find mind boggling.
So many of my colleagues will send me an email or IM asking me to call them so they can make a simple request that could have been outlined in their original message. I could have completed it by the time they've finished saying hello on their precious phone call.
If you phone me, I might be on the phone, I might be otherwise engaged or not there to answer my phone. If you email me I will always get it. Even if I am too busy to action it straight away I will have it at the back of my mind and at the very least be figuring out a plan to action it.
Why are people like this? Is it because they aren't able to articulate their request in an email? If so, they shouldn't be wasting anoybody's time until they can. Although IME these are often very simple asks which just makes it even more baffling.
I've just realised this is more of a (likely cliched) general office rant than sysadmin related, but I do feel that when IT is your bread and butte

For obvious reasons we're currently working from home, and George is emailing us our assignments. George is dyslexic and is therefore not the best at written communication, and many of his emails come across as very blunt. A typical email from him might read something like "hi can you do [task] thanks" or "hi i need you to [do this] thanks", that sort of thing. He has explicitly told us on several occasions that this is due to his dyslexia and that we shouldn't read anything into the tone of his emails because he can't help it. Occasionally he'll pepper in some emojis to try and make it clear that he's not being rude, but if he's trying to be professional, he can't do that.
Jane, for some reason, seems totally unable to get that this isn't George being rude, he's just not able to communicate well in writing. She frequently makes comments to me suggesting that she's close to q

As it currently stands, that content offers gear that is no longer useable in the game. In my opinion they either need to add gear, or make it free. If I was a new player and paid for that content I would be extremely disappointed to see the gear is no longer relevant in the current state of the game.
Edit: Thanks for the awards! I just saw that email and made the post, glad itβs getting some attention. This isnβt knocking the game, Iβm having a lot of fun with beyond light, and Iβve been playing for a while. I just think this is scummy to advertise to new players. Thereβs no mention of the guns and armor being sunset in the email.
I work for an awwwfulll mental health support agency and was injured by a client at work in June and was on workcover for 12 weeks. I recently tried to go back but found my mental health really declined due to the toxic workplace and upper management not caring about anything other than money.
Last week I was on a zoom meeting and juggling my 3 year old at the same time but trying my best. After said zoom meeting my manager's manager called my personal phone and gave me an informal warning because I wasn't smiling. She told me it would become a formal one "if you can't present as an enthusiastic team member." Manager then promptly reassigned me to be directly under her. Taking me away from my team and any contact with anyone other than her.
Yesterday I missed one call while in the bathroom and she sent a long email about her role vs my role etc telling me basically what a pleb I am and said my injury wasnt that bad and people who have been "Assaulted more seriously" have come back m

Well I found out that the same thing is possible with E-Mails now but in a slightly different way.
This "exploit" probably exist since the game does and I wonder how no one reported it yet.
Who is affected: Literally everyone who linked his Email to his Mihoyo Account - No joke!
Sure leaked Emails aren't as bad as leaked phone numbers but this time all accounts are affected.
And there is a reason why Mihoyo actually censors them right..
If you click "Having Problems?" at Mihoyos Login which is basically the "Forgot Password" thing it will ask you to enter a Username or Email. If for example you are very active at Mihoyos Forum and someone, maybe a Hacker, wants to know your Email, all he has to do

> Wilkes also alleges that after Leonard signed with the Clippers he met with West at a Beverly Hills restaurant and West "reconfirmed that he and the CLIPPERS would take care of him and honor their agreement. Jerry then instructed Plaintiff to type his request for payment and email it to his good friend Jim Gray. While at the meeting Jim Gray sent Plaintiff his email address. Plaintiff formalized his request in writing and emailed it to Jim Gray shortly thereafter," according to the lawsuit.

If true, all Wilkes has to provide are the email communications with Jim Gray. That should be the smoking gun.
Well. We all saw the Reddit thread about how people were requesting money from Mitch McConnell on Venmo and Paypal. I wanted to do it too because why not.
But when I looked up Mitch McConnell, nothing came up except a random guy, and I noticed that the tag SenatorMitchMcConnell was open. And me, in a very tired and somewhat joking type of mood at 3 AM on New Years decided it would be a good idea to set that to my tag, change my profile pic to Ol' Mitch, and go to sleep.
Well, I just woke up and my inbox is just fucking destroyed. Like seriously. 5 requests a minute. Thank god it was only for like 6 hours since I woke up early today but I'm going to be deleting for a long time.
Time to get to it.

Here are a few things that you may need to know at this point of the exchange:
If you have received the final reminder email and have not received a gift yet for whatever reason (even if your Santa says it is on the way), you should follow the directions in the email and report no gift at this time. This includes if you are away from home and don't know if you have received your gift yet. Your Santa will not be penalized as long as they provide proof that they shipped something. If your gift shows up, please post it in the gallery and that will cancel the no gift report and everything will be fine. Please DO NOT post in the gallery unless you have physical possession of your gift.
**If you have NOT yet received t

When I see how cheap and simple it is to run a nano node, I completely reevaluate the perspective of achieving organic and long lasting decentralization based on the most simple hardwares; The level of interest/incentive needed in the ecosystem can be as little as holding a few bucks or running a business interacting with the payment system. The ratio "incentive to run a node / cost to run a node" could even exceeds the viability of the BTC equivalent ratio, this later being based on competition, concentration in pools and obsolescence of hardwares (not considering huge pollution and waste of energy).
I see Nano nodes evolving the same as free email providers do, when offering "free email service". The consequence of this design is the need launch a dynamic anti-spam system, and nano seems to have it. P2PoW allows even anyone to collaborate in this solution, without ev

I had just started, quite late in life I might add, my new shiny office job. Eager to make myself seem enthusiastic I would often take on a lot of new tasks here and there to the delight of my team mates.
One such task involved uploading a file to a server each morning, and we would receive a file from this team of people I will call finance. One day they forgot to add the file to the morning email. "I'll get it!" I shouted eagerly as I smashed out what was to be a killer email, solidifying my place among the workplace elite.
Now, everyone knows you have to add a nice sign off, maybe a "yours", maybe even going a bit fancy with a "looking forward to hearing from you", but I keep it simple with a "regards"....
"Hi finance,
I think someone forgot to upload the file to the previous email.
