Hamilton Beach drink mixer for 10$ CAD. So, I had to give it a shot. Seems to be in great working condition so I tried it out on my current favorite recipe from Smuggler's Cove.
Captain's Grog. (Stardate 27-11-2020.)
The blender created a wonderfully frothy head almost instantly but I did not use the correct mixture of ice types suggested. I really need to smash up the ice to be used in the mixing tin into pebble or crushed sort of texture, plus a couple of "Agitator cubes."
I'll try that out next time and report back but, safe to say i'm not annoyed about my investment thus far.
I'll enjoy Wyborova or Luksusowa from freezer at home next to pickles, olives and cold cuts but what do you order when you want vodka out in a bar when all they have is warm Smirnoff or some other similar crap? I don't really enjoy the taste of most other liquor.
Hey all, just a regular person here with limited mixing knowledge. I'm looking for a liquor or mixer that is either grey, or, ideally, black that turns grey when mixed with something white. Failing that, some (hopefully simple) combination that ends up grey could suffice. Does anyone know of anything?
So I'm new to this sub and tiki in general. I somewhat recently had a "real" maitai for the first time and it was an eye opener.
So of course I bought the sc book... And ordered a box of rums and all that jazz.
What sort of appliance is smugglers cove referring to with regard to flash blending and agitator cubes? Is it necessary? Is there something you can sub (I have a Waring blender) or do y'all have an actual appliance dedicated to tiki drinks?
