I've been following the news about covid from December 2019. I remember when on the world news Reddit there was a mysterious new virus in China and they were trying to cover it up. Fast forward to today
The government has done absolutely fucking nothing to stem the disaster that's happening
They've ignored the feds help to bring in the CAF to help LTC residents. So many of our elders are going to die.
I will not be light here. Our ICUs are fucked. (Major downtown Toronto hospital) has atleast 15 patients on ECMO (unheard of, please google, all are covid patients). Nurses are having to leave these critical patients in order to help with codes on their unit or just to simply use the washroom (unheard of, you never leave these patients without eyes on them because in a split second they can bleed out). Patients are coding left right and center.
(Major hospital in suburbs of Toronto) is intubating and ventilating patients and having them wait in the ER for an ICU bed. Unheard of. As soon as a patient has a breathing tube they're usually transferred to icu ASAP.
(Major North Toronto hospital) has no more space in the ICU. NO more. They're coding patients in the fucking hallways.
added all of the GTA hospitals are going to shut their pediatric units down and send them to sick kids. If this isn't scary as hell for everyone I don't know what is. Those peds wards will all be used for covid patients. Pediatric surgeries were already on a huge backlog, now even more surgeries will be cancelled and children will likely miss the optimal window for surgeries that can have life changing effects. *
Every day my friends tell me another story. And every day my anxiety and depression grows.
We are heading into the horrendous Italy style wave 1 of the pandemic
In a few weeks we will see refrigerated trucks at every hospital to hold bodies. We will see field hospitals every where. That's just in a few fucking weeks. And we have Doug Ford doing absolutely NOTHING.
I can't speak to many people outside of the other HCP friends that I have. No one gets it. I don't know what to do anymore. I've been working non stop since this started with no end in sight.
But I’ll be back again as soon as it’s legal and I feel safe. I hope I see you all there
Steph Curry coming off of a 62 point career night: 30 pts, 8 reb, 8 asts, 9/18 from the field and 5/12 from downtown, team high +26.
Last night: Career high 62 points, 5 rebs, 4 asts, 18/31 from the field, and 8/16 from 3
-1/17 - 4:20 (lol) - lots of police, armed cars, nothing else. Sun is out, a bit brisk when the wind blows—would suggest a sweater.
-1/17 -4:36 - the police have their car lights on and flashing by the court house. Nothing happened. Just night soon. Police seem like they are trying to say what’s up and let ppl know they are here.
-1/17 - 5:00ish- police investigated the Palladium (complex next to the DGX) for a potential explosive. It was a stray bag. Good reminder to not litter.
1/17 - 5 pm - 7 pm - Absolutely nothing. Although, to get ahead of this whole constant, super loud news helicopter thing. Can someone please replace the loud helicopter with a super quiet drone—doing super cool, quiet drone things? My REM cycle thanks you.
1/17 - 7:45 pm - on - Some police at corners but they are actively not concerned. Good news is my Amazon package just came in —wasn’t sure it would happen with all the police to Frogger through. Facing not having conditioner, and then trying to brush my hair—straight painful games.
1/18 - 7:09 am- Got 99 problems and none of them are protestors, bc they are all not here. Instead every single one of my problems are the non-protestor birds—chirping away—like non-patriots—waking me up every single morning.
1/18 - 11:52 am - Quiet here. Sun is out and good times are the vibes. Predicting a sidewalk-pedestrian-traffic-disaster soon in terms of joggers with their general fitness and health, telling everyone about the benefits of dry January and not sitting.
1/18 - 1:27 pm - Might go sun in Moore Square. Although, since COVID I can’t play chess with random homeless guys—and are you really in a public park if your ego is not ripped to shreds by secret chess gurus?
1/18 - 2:47 pm - We out here at the capital. And by “we” I mean me (x1); many fences (x100); and a whole lot of nothing (x0). Even less police presence. Prob done with updates for the day. Would suggest a windbreaker.
1/19 - 5:22 am- Nothing last night, followed by a healthy dose of absolutely nothing this morning. Most dramatic event was that a guy did something endearing, and I was truly not prepared to deal —not in this economy.
1/19 - 10:23 am - I know the news implies there are things somewhere, but still no things here. Legit is quiet enough that when I was alone with my friend’s dog I had to repress the urge to start polite conversation.
1/19 12:44 - My office building is officially on lockdown for the next week, although we can still come and go as normal—w... keep reading on reddit ➡
Steph Curry's younger brother Seth put up some very satisfactory numbers Thursday in the 76ers blowout against the undefeated Orlando Magic.
Seth Curry has really come into his own as premier spot up shooter in the league. In the small sample size this year, he is averaging 15.2 pts a game, and 51% on 5.4 attempts from 3 point range. Seth Curry will hopefully continue provide much needed spacing and shooting to the 76ers roster.
