Something that confused me upon a rewatch is that if Zootopia is a world where humans never existed, why are there domestic pigs and sheep? Does this mean other domestic animals (ex: domestic cattle, housecats, dogs) also exist?

And I know the out-of-universe explanation of the directors just liking the look a bit more, I'm referring to an in-universe explanation.

Box Office Week: "Fantastic Four" has an abysmal opening weekend at #2 with $26 million; "Shaun the Sheep" also flops opening at #11 with $4 million. In better news "Dragonball Z: Resurection "F" is on track to make more in it's week long domestic run than the entire run of "Dragonball Evolution".

Top Five of the Week:

Rank Title Domestic Gross (Weekend) Worldwide Gross (All Time) Week #
1 Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation $29,400,000 $265,354,000 2
2 Fantastic Four $26,200,000 $60,300,000 1
3 The Gift $12,007,000 $12,007,000 1
4 Vacation $9,145,000 $37,325,000 2
5 Ant-Man $7,826,000 $326,336,000 4

Notable Box Office Stories:

  • Of course the big story is the massive failure of Fantastic Four. Terrible reviews, insatiable rumors about on set issues, and now the worst opening for a Marvel property since Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance which had half the budget. While the issues of whether or not Fox will sell the rights are still in the air, the one certainly is that a sequel with Trank and Co. is completely and utterly dead.

  • Also a flop is Shaun the Sheep, at least domestically where it earned only $4 million in it's opening and it seems likely to be gone in many theaters by the end of the week. Aardman fans shouldn't fear as the film itself has made $65 million worldwide, but it's likely the theatrical US release for Aardman films will become a thing of the past.

  • Besides MI:5 which has a predictable but still quite sizable $29 million haul, the other big winners are The Gift and Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection "F". Both made for only $5 million, they are pulling in sizable hauls from smart release strategies. Blumhouse, masters of the cheap theatrical movie, once again score a hit with The Gift including their best reviewed film to date. In more surprising news is Dragon Ball Z, which has one of the best limited runs in recent history already earning $5 million in limited release and looking to make over $10 million by the end of it's run on August 19th. For a franchise that is almost thirty years old and on it's 19th film that is pretty damn incredible, especially considering it is likely to surpass the much higher budgeted live action Dragonball Evolution which made only $9 million in it's entire domestic run. The real question is if the inevitable next DBZ film will have a similar release strategy or try for the more risky wide release plan.

How "safe" are domestic/farm sheep?

My grandmother lives in the countryside and behind her row of houses are fields owned by a pub at the end of her road. One of these fields has a pony, and the other several sheep. A week ago I was walking my dog along the road parallel to the field with the sheep in and stopped to take a photo when one started walking towards me. It didn't stop until it's head was passed the fence but was walking slowly. I backed away because it was large, I'd guess at least 150 lbs, but I've never heard of a sheep attack and when asking family and friends they said sheep are "chill" and friendly. I'd like to go back, and see what the sheep's intentions are. Maybe touch one? Would this be safe? They're definately sheep's and not goats or ram.

Feed domestic sheep to get them to procreate.

So, I think the way sheep work in the game right now is a little problematic.

  1. There is no advantage to feeding a sheared sheep over a lamb. Even with the recent changes it is still strictly better; lambs will give you an extra carcass to butcher in addition to wool and dung.
  2. Because of this, mutton is incredibly plentiful. This is probably creating more food for villages than it should.
  3. Since lambs spawn continuously, we have to deal with their corpses being littered all over the place.

This isn't a huge problem, but it seems to me it would work better if sheep behaved like cattle, and had to be fed to procreate. An unshorn, domestic sheep would need to be fed to spawn a lamb, and the lamb would need to be fed to grow into a new adult sheep.

This would make the game slightly harder, but have a positive effect overall, imo. In addition to addressing the points already made, it would turn sheep rearing into an activity that actually requires the player to pay attention to what he is doing. Otherwise, the lamb might die and you'll have just wasted the food you used to spawn it. I think mutton is valuable enough that it will still be worth the extra time and resources needed to get it.

Make all adult domestic animal mobs (cows, pigs, sheep, etc) in the wild be protective for their young

Why would adult animals not care about their young if they're attacked by predators and/or enemies? That makes no sense and it is very mean and selfish for the adults not to care for their young. This should be fixed and make adult domestic animals in the wild be defensive and protect their young.

Crimson Publishers- 5-Methylcytosine DNA Methylation Patterns among Gut Predominate Commensal Escherichia coli and Lactobacilli from the Balbas and Mazekh Domestic Sheep Breeds

5-Methylcytosine DNA Methylation Patterns among Gut Predominate Commensal Escherichia coli and Lactobacilli from the Balbas and Mazekh Domestic Sheep Breeds by Pepoyan AZ* in Research in Medical & Engineering Sciences

The aim of current investigation was to compare the 5-methylcytosine level in genomic DNA of commensal Escherichia coli and lactobacilli from the widely bred in Armenia sheep breeds-Mazekh and Balbas. The results revealed statistically confirmed differences in5-methylcytosine methylation patterns of these bacteria in the bacterial isolates from Mazekh and Balbas sheep. The percentage of 5-methylcytosine of the genomic DNA was statistically higher for isolates from the Mazekh sheep in comparison with those of Balbas sheep (34.5Β±7.57 vs. 5.05Β±2.4, P <0.05). The Scatter Plot of relationship between cell surface hydrophobicity and genomic DNA’s 5-methylcytosine levels shows a moderately strong negative relationship between these characteristics of sheep gut isolates (Pearson R is -0.75). These results may be important for veterinary medicine and breeding programs.
